So I wanted to write a review when I found this website. It was the first part I found and the most useful. I loved looking at the pictures and imaging how my day would look differently. I have nonprofessional pictures but maybe I’ll add those later. I want to write this objectively but I think I might be biased. So let’s just get the basics outSt. Patrick’s Church- I won’t give ratings about any of them especially not a church. I was against having a full mass but I’m glad I did it. The expected “here comes the bride” My father lifting my veil, my mother’s face when we did the blessing of peace, our rings being blessed and the quiet joke I made to my husband to calm his nerves. The clearest parts of my memory from that day come from the ceremony. St. Pat’s had an amazing Pre-Cana program and Father Noviello was serious but warm.
My advice put planning the ceremony at the very top of the priority list
The Woodlands in Woodbury- Aside from a personal problem we had with our banquet manager the food was amazing from what I heard, but the stand out people were
Erica who was everywhere I was every moment I needed a drink, or my hair fixed, or a cigarette (maybe you think smoking as a bride is disgusting but being able to stand with my back to the door to the bridal suite to sneak a cigarette while my dress was bustled was amazing not one of my guests saw it) She always had champagne in her hand and was always moving; be prepared to tip her more we went back the day after and left her even more, she earned it.
Gerard-got a special appetizer to my father because he loved it during the tasting and took such great care of my parents all night
I danced all night with my husband I wish I would have sat more and absorbed it but I know we were where we needed to be.
Li Sound- They were amazing Chris the owner has a great voice to command a party. Beginning to end they were amazing! We had a jazz trio a sax player and a singer all amazing!!! They also up lit the outside of the building which was beautiful!
Flowers by Brian- Joseph C. AMAZING!!!! Centerpieces were big and beautiful and so fresh so were all the personals! They are super expensive I think but Joseph is so worth it!!!! I did a red bouquet which he didn’t recommend but it actually was beautiful!!!
Black Dahlia- Sheryl took down the woodlands Christmas décor and put up my DIY décor and then took that down and put up the woodland’s décor again! For what she did she’s a saint. Reasonable and soooo nice!
Cheeky Details- I booked them early as DOC and couldn’t have been happier they even took a picture of my father and I in the back of the church that the photographer didn’t get. My mother loved them and could relax for the night knowing they were there. She was so against it in the beginning but they totally won them over!
Thomas Paul Photography- Tom and his team were on time professional and really good with my wedding party patient and got the pictures done so I could enjoy my cocktail hour with my husband. I haven’t seen them yet but I’m sure they’re amazing. From the very beginning Tom was great!
Marc of Elegance Limos- Limos were on time Ricky my driver was there whenever I needed anything from mints to a mirror to air in an old rolls Royce!
Everything else didn’t matter as much…..
My advice:
Don’t believe everything on these boards
Plan the ceremony
Don’t have bridesmaids
Have kids at the wedding, if you like kids
Dance, eat, drink, and at some point do nothing.
Hold your soon to be’s hands
Look at them when you dance with them
Make a decision to stay together that night.
Stay till the very end and go straight on whatever honeymoon you can.
Marry the person you can’t live without accept in that moment it’s for good forever.
Congratulations and have fun planning because I hated it but I am glad I did it.
