5/25/08 Eternalyyourz wedding review, Tall Grass Country Club, Twelfth Night, Get in Tune, Davids Bridal, North Fork Trolley, Three Village Florist, Kay Jewelers, vistaPrint!!

ALL IN ALL I AM A HAPPY BRIDE!

LIWEDDINGS: A+
without LIweddings I would not have been able to gather so many of the ideas that I found! Through chating with these girls online I found out better ways to do thing, cheaper ways to do things, and straight out learned things I did not know before. So thanks girls!

Kay Jewelers: A
I love my ring- it is beautiful. DH said that they were very nice and patient with him when he went to buy my ring. More than me loving my ring because of its beauty, I love it because my husband picked it out completely by himself. He totally surprised me…I love him for that. But anyways- back to Kay Jewelers, ha. When we went back together I thought they weren’t THAT helpful. They were okay. I asked it there was a wedding band made to be worn with my ring and they didn’t really have an answer for me. I did find one that ended up matching pretty well… and I love them together. My husband needed to find a heavy duty ring because of his job. He couldn’t wear something soft like gold, so they help him find a nice titanium ring.
Every six months we have to go back and get the rings inspected and cleaned. So far they have been quick and friendly when we stop in to do this, so I give an A.

My Planning:
I do not know if I can really rate it- but I just wanted to say that I tried my hardest to really make my wedding special. I tried to make some things homemade (my napkin holders, programs, menu’s, rose rice throwers for the ceremony, flip flop basket, table numbers, camera scavenger hunt, etc. etc.). I just wanted it to have a springy feel. All blue and pink. I feel I did an okay job- I wish I could have done more, but it was so much work I am happy that it is over. But I really enjoyed how it all turned out and I hope my guests did too! ?

Save the dates- Vista Print.com: A
I went with vistaprint because I did not want to spend a lot of money on the save-the-dates. With vista print I was able to upload a photograph that I took and my lovely husband came up with a cute poem. We uploaded everything we wanted pressed send and our magnet save the dates were in our hands in about a week and a half. They weren’t made of the thickest magnet quality ever, but for the print they were great, cute, and just what we wanted! Their score A!

David’s Bridal:
Dress- A+
I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE my dress! It picked it our and bought it on my first day looking. It was comfortable, beautiful, and everything I was looking for! The day I bought my dress I lucked out and get this very nice young girl named Nicole to help me. She was great, patient, helpful… everything I could ask for. It was a great experience and a great dress a big fat A+!

Invitations-A
I ordered my invitations through David’s bridals online. It was pretty easy to do- and you get a discount on them when you by your dress from there. They came in pretty quickly (especially since I waited until last minute!) The were very nice, needed a little work to be put together... but I think most invitations do. All in all I give an A.

Bridesmaid dresses-A-
I chose a tea-length dress that was very simple but elegant. I decided on the color Pool, which was perfect! It was nice and springy, went well because Pool and pink were my theme colors… and men’s warehouse was able to match the guy’s to the girls. The color also was fabulous at the beach! The beach pictures came out great! The dresses looked great on all of the girls!! They all had different body types- so I was very happy with this. Only two of the girls needed the dresses to be altered at all- which was great!! The price was also just right!! They were also in within a week! Which was amazing. My grade for the dresses themselves would have been an A+, but the service at ordering and picking up the dresses was so terrible I had to lower the grade a bit. The service at David’s Bridal other than my first experience when I bought my dress was TERRIBLE!!!!! Other than that once very nice girl… David’s gets a big F in service. So my grade is an A-.

Alterations-B
The alteration girls did the alterations fine. It was customer service that I seemed to have a problem with. Every time I went there I had to call in the back for help because everyone ignored me! The nicest women was a Spanish women that helped me when I went to pick up my dress. All I needed done was a Hem and the Bustle. The hem was great and I thought my bustle was great too- it really looked nice. But all throughout the wedding day it kept falling done!! It was so hard to dance all night when my dress kept falling! AHH! My girls that needed alterations went somewhere else to get them done because they were all so aggravated with the service there that they did not want to go back! So I gave a B- but I think I am being nice- and it is mostly because they didn’t screw up my dress .

Afterhours/Mens wear house: A
Other than having the company change their name while we were working with them, they were fine to work with. It was great because my husband got his tux free there with a coupon that I received from David’s bridal, and each of the groomsmen got $20 off of each of their tuxes. They also work with David’s bridal in matching colors so we were able to get the guy’s tie and vest to match the girls dresses! They looked great. We had not issues at all so A!

Tall Grass Country Club: A+
I enjoyed the wedding at Tall Grass. I felt like it was a more un-common place to get married-the food tasting was great-the manager was nice-and all and all I cannot complain about much on our wedding day. Everything ran smoothly. Everything was on time. We were actually a little ahead of schedule taking pictures and showed up at TGCC a little early and it was no problem at all. Our only complaints- the guy that was in charge of giving us the golf carts to take pictures was a jerk, but as soon as I said EXCUSE ME? to him he changed his tune. The other thing is that for one of the dinner options we asked for a five peppercorn sauce on the chatebriand and they gave us the wrong sauce (my husband was a little sad about that). The ceremony went great- everything was set up as I asked. I had TONS of stuff for them to set up along with LOTS of detailed directions (I was sure they were to get something wrong!) and they really didn’t. The girl that was in charge of taking care of us for the night was SO NICE and SO HELPFUL. It was really nice to have here there.
I have to say- the day of the wedding I did not really get a chance to eat a thing! I was even at the cocktail hour and was just so busy talking and enjoying it all I might have had two bites of food! Our waitress was making plates and plates of food for us and we never did eat it. During the dinner we were able to sit down and get a couple of minutes to eat- but I wasn’t able too! I was so excited, nervous, in a dream world that I ate a piece of potato and asked them to wrap it up for me! I was just took busy looking around the room and taking it all in. I had one fork full of cake….but I did allow myself to get two helpings of the chocolate fountain! ? I couldn’t let that pass me by!! AND IT WAS DELICOUS! SO HAPPY I HAD IT! So it’s an A+ for Tall Grass….

MY PUP ALFIE! A++
My dog Alfie was in my wedding party. He stood up with my husband at the alter...in his tux. He was so well behaved!! He was a big part of the wedding! It wouldnt have been the same without him-he did such a GREAT JOB! I'm proud to be his Mama!

Three Village Florist: A-
I found this florist through a friend of mine. The owner, named Chin, was very helpful. She really worked to find something beautiful for me in my budget. I LOVED the bridesmaid bouquets…they were beautiful and lasted for days. My bouquet was beautiful- but did not last as well. I think part of it was because it had some roses in it (which never last! Don’t believe what they say!!). Since I took pictures first, by the time I walked down the aisle I was almost embarrassed to bring my bouquet. But the pics seem fine, maybe it was me over reacting. The boy’s boutonnieres also did not last very well and were gone by the end of the night. Our centerpieces were pretty and lasted for two weeks. The flowers that we needed at my house were delivered to my house on time, and the flowers that needed to be given to Tall Grass were deliver there on time. All and all I was happy with them- they gave great customer service and really worked with my budget!!! But I just wish my bouquet and the guy’s boutonnieres lasted a little better. So A-.

Get in Tune Productions:
DJ/MC- A This DJ was recommended to me by a friend. Glen was good to work with, and although we did have some disagreements right before the wedding, Glen and his crew did a nice job on the wedding. He played exactly what I wanted at the cocktail hour and had the dance floor full most of the night. I got back the Zapp pictures that they take when you get the plasma screens about 4 weeks after the wedding. They came out GREAT! I am very happy that I added that to the wedding. A.

Videographer (Also through get in tune)- N/A
The videographer met us at Tall Grass when we first arrived and began shooting. He came along with us on the Golf Cart while we were taking pictures, and was in the middle of the dance floor shooting most of the night. Though I did not get to know him at all because I never met him before the wedding day, he seemed to be doing a good job. I am still waiting on the video- so I will hold off my real rating until then.

North Fork Trolley Co.: A-
I decided to go with North Fork Trolley Company because I thought the idea of having a Trolley as opposed to a limo was a cute idea and right up my alley. The trolley was cute- the whole bridal party including our parents and grandparents were able to ride in it with us. It was also early to pick up my husband and the guys which is nice. My gripe about the driver was that I asked him to keep the trolley parked outside of TGCC until 6:30 (when I had booked him until- and when the wedding ceremony started) so that everyone was able to see the trolley when they came. I spoke with a couple of friends of mine that got there just at 6:30 and he was gone- though I do not know if they just missed him or if he left a couple of minutes early. It took a couple of weeks to get my deposit back from them, and it took me having to give a phone call- but they said that it normally is sent out right away that something must have happened accidently that it wasnt sent out. So all in all I would say A-.

Twelfth Night Photography (12th Night): A
First off, when I first met 12th night I knew they were right for us. I had photographer issues earlier in the wedding planning and when I met them I just had a sigh of relief. Dominick the owner was nice, talented, artistic, easy to talk to/work with. We booked the day we first met them. About 2 weeks after we booked we recieved a thank you card from them and a $5 starbucks card. It was so nice that they did that. None of the other vendors did. It really put a nice touch and made us extra happy to have booked them. Customer Service! After Dominick did our epics, I was defiantly happy with them. Dominick did our wedding with Anthony. They were on time, and started working right away. Throughout the day Dom showed me a couple of pictures that he took- I loved them! Even if it was just looking at them on his camera! They snapped away all day. After the wedding was over, we did notice that we did not take some picture that we wanted to take with my husband’s family. I think things go hectic and we got most of the other pictures done earlier-so they were sort of were forgotten about. My husband is a bit sad about it, but I think all in all the pictures are be amazing… with the exception of the posed pics. Like I said some were not taken and the ones taken were pretty far away, but I am sure we can crop them. We took pictures at my house, of me and my husband meeting for the first time, at a local beach, a duck pond, and also at Tall Grass. So A.

The Weather: A+
The weather for our wedding was great! It was about 75, sunny, breezy, and beautiful. We were so lucky! We did take our pictures before the ceremony because we wanted to be at the cocktail hour, so it was around 3 when we started taking pictures. I WAS SO HOT outside taking pictures in my dress I thought I looked so terrible (though it wasn’t so bad not that I see everyone pics!) At 6:30 when we got married it was the perfect temperature… during the cocktail hour the sun was setting. It was beautiful! So the weather defiantly gets an A+!!!

Our Honeymoon: A+
For our honeymoon we decided to go to Canada. We stayed in Niagara Falls the hotel was beautiful with a wonderful view of both falls. We were able to see the falls view from our whirlpool…and watch the fireworks over the falls from our hotel room. We did most of the tourist attractions and had a nice relaxing time. Other than my husband and I having terrible allergies it was nice. We took a nap mid-day everyday to recoup before going out for dinner and a walk at night.
We went to Toronto one day to go to the CN Tower and to a guitar store. We didn’t love the CN tower, I have been there before and we both do not enjoy heights, but the city is nice. We also did CASA LOMA in Toronto- it’s beautiful to see and we both enjoyed it a lot.
We also visited the Canada safari which was really fun and nice. It was sort of a long drive- 2 hours of driving in the middle of nowhere (from Niagara Falls). But it was fun… we saw the elephants swim in the lake, we drove through the natural wildlife area, had a few baboons’ hang from the bus’s mirrors and try to steal our windshield wipers- but it was fun and a cool experience. I loved it!
All in all it was nice, though we missed our puppy at home at lot! We relaxed and did not want to go back to work and have it all end. But luckily we have a couple mini vacations planned throughout the rest of the year so we can have little mini-honeymoons all year long! We are going to the Pocono’s, Jamaica, Mohegan Sun, and going to see a Broadway play. YAY!

All in all I am a happy bride!
check out my albums!! xoxox!
