FINALLY My 3-5-05 Wedding Review Very Long- WITH PICS and Scavenger Hunt List updated 7-5-05

Ceremony – St. Patrick’s R.C. Church- 10
Father Walden was wonderful! My mom knew him well many years ago at a different church. When I was a teenager, I met him at my best friend’s church in Hauppauge. When my friend got married in 1999 (I was a MOH), Father Walden performed her ceremony. Then, when I was looking into marrying at St Pats where I grew up, he was there! The Precana there was wonderful as well. We were so happy to get married there and were blessed to have Father Walden marry us!


Reception - Sunset Harbour
Prior to wedding day- 10
Everyone there is so nice and very helpful. From the food tasting when we signed the contract to the day of, they were great! They were also very understanding when I couldn’t drop off everything until the day before because my cousin died that week.
Wedding Day- 10
On our wedding day everything was wonderful!! People STILL talk about how great the food was! The service was top notch. The maitre d, Gina was so wonderful to work with! Our guests didn’t have to go to the bar (unless they wanted to) - the servers took care of all drink orders. I LOVED having frozen drinks and the kids enjoyed it too (non-alcoholic for them, of course). When I couldn’t decide what I should order for dinner, they brought out 2 full entrees for me. Both were SO good (what I got to eat of them) and they wrapped the rest up to take home. The cake was the best wedding cake I ever had! I’m really hoping that we can go eat there for our first anniversary, but I need to call to find out. They newly renovated parts of it a couple weeks before our wedding and it turned out so elegant! I HIGHLY Recommend Sunset Harbour!

Flowers - My Sister in Law- 10+++++++++++++++++++++++++
If I could, I would give her a 200. All of the flowers came out amazing as usual. I just gave her an idea of what I wanted and what colors I wanted for the girls and she put everything together. The Pew Bows were beautiful and the CPs were GORGEOUS!!! She even put little bud vases and votives around the bottom. They were my dreams come true! Oh and the cake was EXACTLY what I wanted without knowing what I wanted. I have to say that I’m extra happy we’re related! ?

Tuxes - VIP Tux- 8
They came recommended by a couple people that have used them multiple times. When we went, the guy there was very nice and patient with us (I made DH try on so many different combinations). Prices were very reasonable, the quality was good also. When taking pictures on the way to the reception, I realized that his vest was the wrong color. It was supposed to be black satin, but it was gray. The gray didn’t quite “go” with the silver & back tie. Oh well, there was nothing we could do at that point anyway, so why stress about it. If I had to do it all over again, I would’ve gone with DH to pick up the tux because he wouldn’t notice details like that.

Photographer – George (family friend) - 9
I got my proofs back, but I haven’t bought a scanner yet. My mom did scan in these 3, though.

He did a great job and got to dance with his wife too. I was a little disappointed that his camera malfunctioned as I was walking down the aisle, so he didn’t get any pictures of me & my dad, but he’s willing to put in good quality pics someone else took. So at least it will wind up in my album. The pics he did get were awesome, though!

The one thing I kind of regret is not getting a photojournalist. I was looking into it before the wedding, but it just never worked out. Thank god for my sister-in-law and some other people that took pics. Some Other Pics I love:

Day of- 10
He was very nice and great to deal with! I found out after that he went around to tables to film people. I barely noticed him, but I heard he was everywhere! Let’s hope that’s what the final product shows!

Lillette’s- Christina- 10
I owe my beautiful dress selection to Christina. I went there and she helped me try on a TON of dresses. When I was basically done, she said that a dress just came in that she thinks will be perfect for me. Well, that was THE ONE! Working with her was like talking to an old friend. She wasn’t pushy AT ALL, was very nice and helpful! LOVE HER!!! Not sure if there are any good pics of the back, but here’s one from when I ordered it:


Alterations, Dresses Kid Tuxes & Accessories- Phyllis (Gownfind.com) - 10
My Alterations, Ordered BM dresses & Alterations, MIL Dress, MIL Shoes
Phyllis was a pleasure to do business with. Her prices can’t be beat! She wasn’t able to order my dress at the time, but she offered to do my alterations at a great price! The BM dresses were SO MUCH cheaper than all the bridal salons which was great considering my sister had to purchase 4 dresses (hers and my 3 nieces). Phyllis even altered my RD dress in a hurry (2 days before). I also got my bra, slip, jewelry, MOH jewelry & handbags, and handkerchief from her. The kid tuxes were SO inexpensive to rent and/or buy. Everything is so affordable and great quality!


LaProductions- 10
Laura was great! She was so nice and went out of her way to find us the exact place card frames we wanted. Once she did, she gave me a cheaper price than what I found online. Our favors, the chocolate puzzles, were a great quality, tasted yummy and were unique. I recommend you check them out!

Barron’s in Tri County- Tiara- 10
Bought my tiara here. Great selection, Great Prices, VERY courteous and helpful!!! I went there around 5 times before I bought anything and they were great every time! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Hair- Tarale- 10
What can I say about Tarale? She did a wonderful job as usual! Definitely a gifted hair stylist! LOVE HER!

Makeup- Patty Burgess - 10
Patty was amazing! At my first meeting with her, I knew she was different than the rest. She was so willing to work with me until I was happy and was very knowledgeable & skilled. She was very easy to get in contact with and even checked up on me as my wedding drew closer. I LOVED my makeup! People kept telling me I looked like a porcelain doll that day. My skin looked flawless and lasted all day! Thanks to Patty all of my pictures look beautiful!

Limo - Sir Oliver- 10
When we went there, we spoke with Rich. He was very easy to talk to and deal with! We requested him on our contract with the understanding that he may not be able to do it. When he told us Joe had to do it instead, he assured us that he was the best. We TOTALLY agree. He was on time, courteous and helpful! He even took some pictures of me & my dad by the limo with my digital camera. I can’t say enough about him!



We went on our HM 2 months later and Joe was the one that took us to the airport. The limo was at our house early to ensure our prompt arrival to the airport. Again, excellent service!! I definitely plan to use them in the future!

DJ- High Voltage Sounds- 10
When we met with Vinny for the first time, we wanted to book him on the spot, but decided to check out more DJs. Sure enough, there was no competition- we came back and booked him! He was always a pleasure to deal with and on top of that the prices are very affordable! Vinny was very easy going with many wonderful ideas to help us personalize our wedding day. High Voltage was one vendor I knew I never had to worry about! At our wedding, everyone had a great time because of Vinny! He played the kind of music we wanted and kept the party going! He was so easy to deal with and talk to. Having him there made our wedding day less stressful!

At One point, Everyone just burst out into song to ‘Sweet Caroline’

Rehearsal Dinner – Orlando’s II (St. James) - 10
We paid for our entire wedding, but my Dad offered to do our RD. The food was SO good!!! The service was impeccable! And the cake was to die for! I’m excited to go back for dinner! I definitely recommend you check this place out, if even just for dinner!


Piercing Pagoda- 10
Affordable, beautiful jewelry and great customer service!

Lillian Vernon- 10
I got confused with part of the order, so I called to ask questions. The customer service agent was wonderful! So helpful and funny! It made ordering everything so much easier. We ordered sterling silver dog tags for all the boys, monogrammed bags for each of the girls, and an engraved mirrored tissue compact. The quality of everything we got was great!

Shoes - Sandy’s Shoes (Massapequa)
They are so nice and have a good selection! I had no problems ordering the shoes I needed. I would definitely go back!!

My Mom- 10+++++++++
RB Pillow, FG Basket, Money Bag
My Mom is my hero! She always does so much and I always appreciate her! Everything she made for us came out beautiful! My favorite thing she made was our moneybag. She made it from scratch (no pattern) in a material that matched my dress. She surprised us with our monogram on it- very elegant and beautiful!

I need to thank LIW. Without this website my wedding wouldn’t have been as wonderful. And who would’ve thought I’d make friends from a website?? I know I didn’t! I don’t really mean to single people out, but a few people really helped me out with some things that I need to thank.

Danfords (Pt Jeff) - 9
We stayed in the HM suite at Danfords for a couple nights after the wedding. It was so Beautiful! The place was huge and included a fireplace and balcony overlooking the water. My dad even ordered us a cheese, cracker & fruit platter and a bottle of wine that was waiting for us. It seemed like every time we wanted room service for a meal it either wasn’t available, or only appetizers were. So we never actually had room service. Other than that, everyone was SO nice and the place was more than we hoped for!



Overall, we made our wedding for us and we had so much fun! People really did notice the details!

I hope I didn’t forget anything. Hope this review helps!
