My 8/28/05 Wedding Review-Westbury Manor, etc

Let me just start off by saying....

I cannot believe it is all over. The 9 months of planning, the agonizing over details, the wanting everything to go perfect.....In the GRAND scheme of things, NONE of it, really mattered in the end. Everything went the way it was intended to go, perfectly.

The Inn at Fox Hollow: B-

I guess I was expecting alot more. My Mom, my MOH, and I checked in the night before my wedding. I booked a 2 bedroom suite. My MOH and I had one bedroom, and my Mom had the other. I was expecting a nicer room I guess. The place is not what I was hoping for, for the 400.00 I spent. Being that I have stayed in alot of hotels in my lifetime, I guess I wanted a little more luxury, and it did not deliver. I should have went with the instincts and stayed at the Garden City Hotel. The front desk staff was rude. Maybe it was an off day, I dont know.

Invitations: Jean M A+++

I looked around for a long time for invites. Jean M is not the cheapest around, but I fell in love with one of their invites, and ordered them immediately. Not only did they send me 15 extra invites for free, they even called me on the day of delivery to make sure everything I needed was there. The quality was fabulous, and the invites were perfect. People even commented on how they have never seen an invitation quite like mine.

VIP Formals: A+

We only needed 4 tuxedos. Father of the Bride and Groom, Groom, and BM. They are so professional, so clean, so wonderful. Everything was perfect. When the tuxes were picked up, they fit to a T, and looked amazing. Like brand new.

I ordered the Love coasters. 80 of them to be exact. 2 days later my shipment arrived. I had 15 Love Coasters, and 65 Fall Leave Coasters. I called the minute I opened the box to let them know the order was wrong. Not only were the RIGHT ones on my doorstep the next day, they told me to KEEP the other 65 coasters as a gift to make up for their mistake. What a class act operation!!

Flowers by Burton: A+ all the way down the line

My flowers are one of the aspects of my wedding that I spared no expense on. I always dreamed of calla lillies, and callas is what I got.

My centerpeices were to DIE for. High vases with callas and orchids. They were gorgeous. People were fighting over them. My bouquets were so fragrant, I could not stop smelling them. The flowers were so alive, vibrant with color, and fresh. They outdid themselves.They were on time, and everything was perfect. They even gave me some free petals and an extra centerpeice.

Bridal Reflections, Massapequa: A

I really have no complaints. My dress fit perfectly.My fittings all went smoothly, their seamstress is wonderful.The only complaint I have, is that their staff is a little rude. But, I really dont care about staff attitudes, I care about my dress, so they still get an A.

Rappa Photography, A+++++++++++!!!!!!!

Rosemary Rappa is absolutely amazing. People say when you dont even realize there is a photographer at your wedding, they must be good. Well, I dont think I noticed her at all ONCE during the day, aside from her taking the planned pictures. I recommend her highly. She is so sweet, so amazing, so professional, and her work is incredible.

Our AMAZING DJ, Deniz the Meniz.

Deniz is a long time friend from our days of clubbing in NYC. He actually now is a manager for many NYC DJ's. When we saw Deniz right after our engagement, and told him we were getting married, he insisted on DJ'ing our wedding. Deniz plays at alot of NYC Venues, and is considered a great DJ on LI, and NYC.

He was AMAZING. Our MC was GOGO, who does alot of work in NYC, but is best known for being the MC at Neptunes in the hamptons. People are still e-mailing and calling about them. They had the crowd ALL OVER THE DANCE floor. I only gave him a do not play list, and he came up with the rest. It was AMAZING. People were dancing at 12 o clock in the afternoon like they were at a NYC club at 1 am. It was phenomenal. He is such a good friend, but his skills and professionalism are a force not to be reckoned with.

Marie Katz, makeup artist: FABULOUS!!!!!

I really cant say anything more than her talent is unsurpassed. She just knows what she has to do, does it, and the result is amazing. I recommend her to ANYONE who wants to deal with a sweet, caring, and professional make up artist. I cant say enough about her. I would be here all day.

Creative Hair Designs by April: Another enigma. She was on time, early as a matter of fact. My MOH and Mom didnt even have a trial, and she did EXACTLY what they wanted. She rocks!!!!!

A Stan Wiest String Strio for cocktail hour and ceremony: A+

Awesome! The ceremony music was so beautiful. The cocktail hour music was so soothing, warm, and exciting all at the same time. Who knew classical music could be so invigorating. They were so professional, on time, and made my ceremony perfect. I had them play Canon in D as my parents, and wedding party walked down the aisle, and it sounded so incredibly beautiful.

Westbury Manor: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

I cant say enough about this venue. From the minute I arrived, I was literally taken under the wind of my bridal attendant, Caitlin. She was amazing. She helped me get dressed, made sure I had everything I needed, and didnt stop handing me a french martini all day! LOL

The food was out of this world. I mean, The Filet Mignon did not even need a knife. The cocktail hour was an over abundance of amazing dishes one after the other. The vodka display with caviar was a hit. The crepe station really didnt get alot of action. The raw bar was crowded for the entire hour.

We decided to combine our appetizer/pasta dish, instead of them serving one app, and one pasta. It worked out perfectly. People had at least another 20 minutes to dance without having to sit and eat.

Dinner was amazing. 7 courses to choose from. I know at least one person who had one of the courses, and they raved about it. The food was terrific. I knew this already.

The cake: I thought it was GREAT. I know there have been alot of rumors that the cake is not that great. Well, we picked the rasperry filling, with White Chocolate mousse and vanilla cake, and it was delicious.

The chocolate fountain was a huge success. The line was about 30 people deep for a half an hour. Everyone really enjoyed it, and most had never even seen a chocolate fountain.

Westbury Manor is a top notch operation. My bridal attendant was literally waiting outside for me when I arrived. She didnt leave my side,helped me go to the bathroom, etc etc etc. She was awesome. . I didnt lift a finger all day. The food was great, service was EXCELLENT, our Maitre D, Rammy, was young, but knew his stuff, and was there for us at every second during the reception. The cake was BEAUTIFULLY decorated, my favors were placed perfectly on each table, my votice placecard table was perfect. I just cant say enough about Westbury Manor.

I enjoyed planning this day right until the very end, but there is nothing like being a married woman, Enjoy every second you can ladies, it goes by VERY fast.

The night before the wedding, my Mom, I, and my maid of honor went to dinner at La Parma. We rang up a 400 dollar bill, god only knows how. But that place is just awesome LOL
