My April 27th, 2007 Wedding review w/pics! East Wind, Long Island Sound, ADA, Sir Oliver!

Ok, I never thought that I would be here writing my review! I had a 2 ½ year engagement and thought the day would never come, but it came and went before I knew it and it was the best day ever! So here it goes…………


LIW- A+
Of course! This website was great while I was planning my wedding. I got a lot of great ideas from here and I want to thank everything for all there help and support along the way. I only hope I can be as helpful to the future brides!

Bridal Suite of Centereach- A
I got ALL of the dresses here with the exception of the flower girl dresses. Had no problems at all. They were very helpful and all the dresses looked beautiful. The only reason I didn’t give them an A+ was because I had a hard time scheduling my fittings because the seamstress they assigned to me was going on a month long vacation. I wish they could have given me a different seamstress, but my dress came out great so I have no complaints!



Bridal Elegance – Dix Hills- A+
I didn’t want to spend a ton of money on these dresses and it seemed everywhere we went, they were over $100. After shopping with two little girls all day, I was getting frustrated, our last stop was Bridal Elegance and then I was giving up. Well we found the cutest dress and we got it for under $100. They came in really quick and looked great. The girls looked absolutely adorable in them!

Rogers Tuxedo – Centereach Location- B+
The tuxes looked fantastic, all the guys looked great in them. The reason for the B+ is because they forgot to include the suspenders that my Dad asked for, so my neighbor had to run there on the day of the wedding to get them. No big deal – just a little hassle that wasn’t needed.



Elsa’s Wedding Rings – A+
I was having a hard time finding a ring to go with my engagement ring, so I went to Elsa’s. She is such a sweet person and she designed a beautiful ring for me. After wearing my ring for a few days I noticed that it was a little too thick and was uncomfortable, I called Elsa and made an appt to have some adjustments done to my ring. When I went back, she was just has sweet as she was on our first meeting. I explained what I wanted fixed and a few minutes later my ring was done and it was perfect!

MaCayla Michaels Desserts – A+
I got my cake from this outside bakery. When I had the appt, the office was set up beautifully for a tasting. We decided on the devil’s food cake with white chocolate mousse chambourd filling. It was DELICIOUS. I looked through a book a chose the style cake I wanted. We went with a “show” cake. All tiers except one are made of Styrofoam and one tier is real for your cake cutting ceremony. We then had a sheet cake in the back that was cut up for our guests. This cuts down on the time it takes for your guests to receive their piece of cake. We got to cake the real tier from the wedding cake home, and also the cake topper – which I can save forever because it's fake. On our one-year anniversary, they will make a replica cake for us! No frozen cake to eat!! Highly recommend this bakery! Here is a link to their site



Jacqueline Nicole – A+
Jacqueline is such a sweet person. She arrived on time and was ready to start. She did makeup for me and my mom and we both looked great. She even stayed around after she was finished to help me get into my dress, which I thought was the nicest thing!! Book her – you won’t be disappointed!


I had my hair done by a family friend so I’m not going to rate it. Just wanted to say that she did a great job on EVERYONE!

With all my heart – A+
I only used them for personals because I had a candelabra centerpiece, but the flowers were AMAZING! All the bouquets came out gorgeous! Linea is so sweet and so is the rest of the staff. I wasn’t too picky about flowers so I just gave her a basic idea of what I wanted and she took it from there. I went the day before and saw all the flowers and couldn’t believe how great they looked. The pieces for the church were HUGE and GORGEOUS. We were able to take them back to the reception and they looked beautiful in the room. They even drove everything all over. They brought the bouquets to my mom’s house in Ronkonkoma, all the boutonnieres and alter pieces to the church in Holbrook, then went back to the church to pick up the alter pieces and brought them to East Wind. They are just great!!



Sir Oliver Limousine – A+
We booked the Excursion and the 1940 Cadillac. Both Cars arrived on time and were clean. Rachel was the driver for the excursion and she is so great. She kept me calm at the church when the organist didn’t show up on time and she fluffed my dress perfectly before I walked down the aisle. Joe drove my dad and I in the Cadillac to the church; he is such a nice guy. He helped me in and out of the car with my dress and also drove DH and I to the airport for our honeymoon. It was such a pleasure driving with him. Both driver’s were ready with huge umbrellas and helped everyone in and out of the cars in the rain. Great Vendor!!!


Long Island Sound – A+
AWESOME! Chris was our MC and they were just fantastic. They had the crowd dancing all night and played a nice mix of music. I honestly cannot remember one song that they played that I didn’t like. I was literally sweating from dancing so much! I had a VERY short must play list (maybe 5 or 6 songs) and just let them do their thing and they did a great job!!!! If you book them, you won’t be disappointed.





ADA Photography and Video – A+
Big John was our Photographer and Sue was his assistant, we also had Neo for photojournalism and Mike for video. They all arrived on time and were ready to get to work. Big John is such a nice guy, he made taking pictures fun and we were laughing all day. The pictures came out absolutely GORGEOUS; I love every one of them! Sue is just great, she was always there to pick up my train so it wouldn’t get wet out in the rain and hold my bouquet in between shots, and she was a great help! Neo was great too, I hardly noticed him all day and he got some really GREAT shots. Mike did a great job on the video, he stayed out the of the way and I never knew he was around, the video came out awesome. It was so nice to watch and relive the day and I must have watched it about 10 times already. Everyone at ADA was just great!

East Wind Estate – A+
Any brides getting married at East Wind have NOTHING to worry about. Everything about this place is perfect. The grounds are so beautiful and so are the reception rooms. The staff was great! We ended up arriving an hour early to the Estate because it was raining and we couldn’t go to the beach for pictures. They came right outside to greet us and help us out of the limo. Their was so much food at the cocktail hour, I had people tell me that I didn’t even need to have the dinner course because they filled up at the cocktail hour! All the food there is so good. I am so glad that I got to have my wedding at the Estate, I absolutely LOVE that room and I had a beautiful wedding there! I must have gone to 20 showcases just to have the food and go look at the Estate. If you’re getting married at East Wind, you are going to have a GREAT wedding!
