My Oct 10th review (finally!)

Sorry its taken a while. Things have been a little nuts. Anyway, here it is...

I really had a great day. I took everyone's advice and just enjoyed it without worrying about anything. I was so relaxed (I even surprised myself). Not even getting blood on my dress and losing a button before I even left my bedroom could upset me!! Thanks to all the girls on this board. You all really helped to make my day so special. I feel very lucky I found this board.

Dress - Bridal Reflections: A. They really did a great job. My seamstress, Lee, was amazing. Definitely ask for her. I wasn't happpy with the way the sleeves on my dress looked and she completely redid the dress for me and did an amazing job. I kept coming back for fittings and they never gave me a hard time at all. My bridesmaids got their dresses there too. I picked the designer and color and they got to pick out their own dresses. I definitely recommend this. All my girls were thrilled with their dresses and they all looked great.

Limos -Regency: A. I had no problems. They were right on time. I could have set my watch by them. The drivers were friendly and helpful. We got a brand new limo (its first trip out!) and a very nice limobus.

Reception - Hamlet Golf & Country Club: A. I was very happy with the reception. My hubby and I had a great time. We even made time to eat and dance! The place looked incredible. Everyone was commenting on how pretty it is there. And the food was amazing. Just as good as the tasting if not better. They made me and DH a special plate of each of the choices and everything was so good. Deserts were incredible too (cookies and chocolate covered fruit were a big hit). The only complaints I had were that I heard from some guests that one of the bartenders was rude, and I really didn't care for the maitre D. I didn't like his plan for how the night should go, so I had to keep my eye on him. FM me if you want details.

DJ - Spin Around Sound: A. I was pretty happy with them. Great service, very responsive. Tom wasn't available so I got Rob as the MC who did a good job. Very little MCing, so he wasn't annoying at all but still kept the party going. They played everyting we asked.

Photographer - Fine Art: B (still pending on proofs). I was happy with my photographer on the day of the wedding. He got the job done without being too annoying. I'm a little concerned that he didn't get as many candids as I would have liked, but since I haven't gotten my proofs yet I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised. My biggest complaint is the fact that I haven't gotten my proofs yet. Its almost 5 weeks! Its making me very angry!!

Video - Wild Rose - A+ (haven't seen the video yet though). I loved Bill. So sweet and very unobtrusive. I didn't even know he was there, but when I needed something, he was so helpful. I can't wait to see the video. I'm sure its going to be wonderful.

Church - St. Barnabas in Bellmore - A+. Father Dooley did my ceremony and did such a good job. He told the story of how DH proposed and had everyone crying. He worked our story into the homily so well. It was really a nice ceremony. Very personal.

Flowers - Burtons: A++. Wow. I loved my flowers. They did exactly what I asked. Got lots of compliments on them. I asked them to include a bouquet to give to my grandmother (for her birthday) and they gave me a beautiful bouquet at no extra charge. Guests who took the flowers home said they lasted for several days. They were incredible and I got such a great price too. I had my bouquet preserved and cannot wait to get it back.

Hair and Makeup - Lori Ann and Marlene: A. These two were a great team. They were so much fun the day of the wedding. We had a blast. Marlene is amazing. I loved my hair and every one of my bridesmaids'. It was exactly what I wanted and it stayed all night. The makeup looked amazing too. My only complaint is that the makeup looked GREAT in person (I don't like heavy makeup) but a little too light in some pictures. But I would rather have a more natural look than too heavy.

Favors - Pindar Wine Bottles: A+. These were great. Everyone loved them. We didn't have to do a thing - they come wrapped, bowed and with a little labeld with a saying and our names on it.

I think I covered everything. Sorry I don't have pictures yet. I don't have a scanner and I don't have any digital pictures yet (but will shortly and I will post them).
