Review of My May 19, 2006 wedding at Jericho Terrace! More proofs on p. 2!

What can I say....I had the most incredible day! If you don’t recall, May 19th wasn’t exactly a great day weather wise, ...but I am still giving mother nature an A++++++ because it really held out when I needed it too and we never got stuck in the rain. We were able to take all of our bridal party pictures outside Jericho Terrace’s beautiful scenery! That meant a lot to me!

Hair and Makeup-Marco’s, Ozone Park- A+++++
Marco’s is my regular salon so I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else. They nailed the look I was going for with my hair and as far as makeup, I never even told them what to do and it was perfect!! Hair was done by Antoinette. Makeup by Debbie

Gown, BM’s dresses and MOB dress- Flowerama- Glendale A+++
The staff at Flowerama really exceeded my expectations. The girls there are really nice and catered to my needs. When I ordered my veil, my dress hadn’t come in yet so I didn’t know how it would look and if the color would match. When the dress did come in, it didn’t match. The next day, they ordered a new one without any problems. They really made things easy for me during such a stressful time.

Tiara, Shoes- David’s Bridal, Long Island City- A
I purchased my tiara and shoes from David’s. The shoes I had to order and they were in within 1week & ½, and the tiara I took home the same day I purchased. No problems at all.

Invitations, programs, favors, caligraphy- Mr. Ribbon, Belrose- A+++
Mr. Ribbon felt like a one stop shop to me. Their prices were reasonable and service was outstanding. Invitations and programs arrived within 1 ½ after proof was approved. Caligraphy was completed on inner and outer envelopes in 1 day! Favors arrived exactly when they told us they would,which was one month prior to the wedding.

Flowers- Pedestals, Garden City- A++++
I was blown away with what they had done for us. The centerpieces were incredible and exactly what I wanted. My bouquet looked beautiful and fresh throughout the whole day. The bridesmaids and Jr. bridesmaids bouquets, MOB and MOG bouquets, wrist corsages, orchid bracelets and bouts were just beautiful!

Limos- Royalty Limosines- A++++++
I cannot rave enough about this vendor. These guys really work for their tip and go above and beyond their normal duties. The drivers were totally involved in the ceremony as far as making the bridal party feel comfortable and instructing them on how and when they should walk down the aisle. Right before I walked down, one of the guys gave me a little pep talk and adjusted my veil so I could see. He fixed my train and sent me on my way. They are AMAZING!!! They even had a balloon release from the limo right before we left the church to go to the reception. It was worth every penny! The day morning after the wedding, they picked us up at the hotel in a stretch Lexus limo at no charge!



Fan Fare Brass- Dyker Heights- A+++
We hired Trupeteers to play as I arrived to the church. They met the limo in the street one block before the church and played in front of the limo walking thru the street as the limo drove the rest of the way to the church. They then met us at Jericho Terrace where they played as our guests arrived for the cocktail hour and finished off with a salute right before our grand entrance.

Patken Photographer- A+++
Our photographer was Nick and videographer was Raymond. Both arrived at my parents house at about 2pm (4:30 ceremony) and began shooting as I was being laced up in my dress. When I got my proofs I was pleasantly surprised to see what shots he took when I wasn’t around. He took some great detail shots of the flowers and the programs. Since I decided not to give a “must take” list, I was excited to see what ideas he had. Needless to say that I was shocked to see how creative he was when I got my proofs because every single shot was different and beautiful. There really was not one bad picture that was taken. The videographer was like a sniper...he was sleek and sneaky and you never noticed him throughout the whole day. Except at the end of the night when everyone was gone and me and my MOH were still gettin down on the dance floor. Yeah...he got all of that! The only thing I asked of him was to go to the family tables to ask them to say something. Besides the fact that no one wanted to speak...he did what we asked! The best part was when Nick asked us to step outside the hall when it got dark so he could get some shots. It was beautiful! I was so happy with the shots he took and could not have suggested anything better. Overall, they were AMAZING. Honestly, I didn’t expect anything less from them!


Jericho Terrace- A++++++++++
Jose was our Matre’ D, and he was incredible. He catered to our every need and really pulled everything off. All of the instructions we left as far as where things should be set up, and how it should be done....was done! He didn’t miss a beat! The only thing that I can think of that was unexpected was flowers on the cake. We did not want them on the cake nor the top of the cake. I guess the florist came in to do the cake when no one was in the room because it was on the contract to not have flowers. Seriously though, if that was the only thing I can think of...I am pretty lucky. I didn’t even care! I was glad they did it because it looked awesome!!! no cause for point deductions there! The bridal attendants were sooo great! They brought us food and drinks into the bridal suite since we did not attend the cocktail hour. They covered me in a huge tablecloth so I would not spill anything on my dress! They pinned up my bustle, carried my flowers when we were taking pictures and throughout the night, made sure we had everything we needed. The best part was when Jose went to us and the family tables after they ate the main course, and asked if we wanted another meal! Perhaps to try something different so we could taste everything!! The Oak room looked amazing! The table set up, chair covers and linens looked beautiful! The rolling bar was hit! A lot of people were saying that they hadn’t seen a rolling bar in years. It was really convinent to have so the guests didn’t have to get up if they didn’t want to. The new wine and cigar lounge was a hit as well. It was a great place for the guests to mingle before the cocktail hour began and it was one less thing I had to worry about as far the chance of people showing up early....which many did! Overall, the hall looked beautiful, the staff was amazing and they made all of my planning come to life! Oh..one more thing...while picking our menu, Jericho discovered that we were using 4 or more of their recommended


vendors so because of that, ALL of our vendors ate for free and we had a lamb carving station added on for free!! Just thought I’d mention as an incentive to consider house vendors!!



Starlight Express DJ- MC Paul- A+++++
Starlight Express came highly recommended by Jericho. At that point I had very high expectations. Especially since we had Paul as our MC. Jericho spoke very highly of Paul and assured us that we would be very happy. We had Paul as our MC, as well as a DJ and a percussionist. We also had hats, sun glasses and maracas as giveaways. We gave Paul a small must play list as well as a do not play list and every request was met! The music was great and everyone was dancing all night long. I also had a special song dedication that I made to DH and one to my Aunt and Uncle who were celebrating their 21st wedding anniversary on the same day.
Paul really got the crowd going without forcing anyone up to dance. That was really important to us because we did not want an MC who was going to try and drag people up to dance. No one likes that! I was really please with them and they certainly exceeded my expectations that night.

Wingate Inn, Garden City- A+++++
There was nothing better than ending our wedding night a gorgeous hotel like the Wingate. For the past three months leading up to the wedding, I had been communicating with several people by e-mail, who really helped my with the rooms, shuttle and keeping the bar open for us until 3am!! The day before my wedding, I got a call from a girl I had been speaking to and she didn’t sound like she had good news for me. She went on to tell me that the bridal suite that I booked for my wedding night would not be available because the couple who was staying in it right now was extending their stay until Monday. Then she proceeded to tell me that they did have another bridal suite available and they wanted to give it to us for free! The suite we paid $300 for, was being given to us! I was so grateful that they offered this to us so we were not inconvienenced. The only thing we had to pay for was the shuttle service. At the end of the night, I asked Jericho to call Wingate and tell them that our guests and I were ready to head back to the hotel. Wingate sent the van with in 15-20 minutes and took us to the hotel. When we arrived at the hotel, the bar was still open and we were able to continue the celebration! The suite was beautiful and really BIG! King size beds, flat screen t.v (there were two t.v’s in the room), fridge, microwave and coffee pot (which I was hitting up that night!). My experience there was great and I would love to stay there again. The next morning we had a complimentary breakfast (continental) which was yummy!

Honeymoon-Cruise aboard the Norwegian Dawn to Bermuda& Bahamas- A++++++++++++
The ship was beautiful and HUGE! This particular cruiseline offers Freestyle dinning which does not require you to dress for dinner. BONUS!!! One of the reasons we chose it. The crew was very friendly and loved to chat with the guests! The crowd was very mixed with families and couples.
There were tons of restaurants and bars on board that were a lot of fun to hang out in. There were

two, 24 hours restaurants as well as 24 hour room service that was no extra charge. The rooms were made up and turned down everyday unless you requested for it not to be done. The shopping aboard was also great. LOTS of jewelry shops!. Got my 1 week anniversary gift there! =)
Both of the Islands were GORGEOUS! It was our first time on a cruise and to the islands so we were amazed at how beautiful the beaches were and how friendly the people were. We are already planning another cruise on this ship for next year.

Thank you for the review! everything looks so beautiful - i love seeing great JT pictures. . . my family complained a lot because I wasn't getting married closer ( it isn't that far BUT my family is practically betting that it is going to snow that day) so it is extra nice to see that it is going to be worth it! congratulations again!

About the wine and cigar bar/lounge how new is it, I don't remember them mentioning that, is it included? I know guests will be there early at mine also.
