Mini-Review: The Metropolitan, Pedestals, Perceptions Photography, Royalty, Invitations and Beyond, Platinum Band Music, Lillettes

I will post a full review with more vendors and many more details (and pictures), but here is a quick breakdown of what I thought of our major vendors:

Mother Nature was kind to us - In fact, she was amazing! The weather on August 11th was perfect - Low 80s, no humidity, and plenty of sun!

The Metropolitan ran a flawless party. Every detail was exactly as we asked for it. I honestly expected SOMETHING to go wrong or be out of place, but everything was flawless. The food was absolutely DELICIOUS. The waitstaff was incredible - polite, efficient, and professional. Our maitre'd was also amazing. I honestly cannot say enough good things about the place.

Pedestals - Nadia was our florist. I think our price was okay, though we may have been able to get it somewhat cheaper elsewhere. However, they threw in several extras at no extra cost which was nice. The flowers themselves were stunning and exactly what we asked for. HOWEVER, I have one complaint - they delivered the flowers to the wrong church despite the fact that I gave them extremely detailed directions twice, and reminded them several times that St. Thomas Chapel is NOT the same as the main church on such-and-such street and to follow my directions. I gave them this in writing. The personals and reception were delivered on time and were fine. The church flowers were on time, but to the wrong church. While I was on time to the church (early in fact), we had to start about 10 minutes late because the singer went with my cousin to go get the flowers at the other church. NO idea why the singer went, but that's another story. We needed to start on time because the priest had another wedding after ours. Not only did Pedestals delay my ceremony, but likely another bride's as well. I understand mistakes happen, but this one is big, as I was VERY specific in my directions and gave them MULTIPLE times. Pedestals Review Updated

Perceptions (pending proofs) - Another vendor I can't say enough good things about. Lisa and Jose were our photographers. They and their assistant were on time, professional, unobtrusive, and a blast to be around all day.

Royalty - I was nervous due to their mixed reviews, but Royalty brides have nothing to worry about. They were on time, professional, and not at all pushy. The cars were clean with stocked bars. Our drivers were both named Chris and were both wonderful. The classic car we had broke down the morning of the wedding, but they handled it perfectly. They called immediately (hours before the wedding) and offered us any other car we wanted.

Invitations and Beyond (Oceanside) - We got our invites, shower invites, and RD invites here. This is one of my favorite vendors - perfect work, nice staff, and great prices.

Platinum Band Music - Our band Platinum (www.platinumbandmusic.com) was absolutely AMAZING! They are based out of NJ, but do weddings on LI. They were great to deal with from start to finish and did an exceptiomal job at the wedding. Everyone is still raving about them!

Lillette's (BM dresses and my gown) - Very good service and everything was on time. My alterations were perfect, as were the BMs'. My MOH had a problem with her first round of alterations, but they fixed it immediately. It was a minor annoyance for her to go back for an extra fitting, but not a huge deal. We had to wait a few times when we went for alterations, but other than that, the service was great.
