Ok... I must admit that when I look at bridal reviews I only look at the pictures. I might read a section of the review if me and that bride shared a particular vendor. But I must admit, your review is the first I've read in its entirety and I LOVED IT! I thank you so much for posting. Your pictures are beautiful and I am so pleased for you that you decided to have a large wedding because the look on both of your faces are priceless. The review made me feel like I was there...lol.

I too live out in VA and am planning (well, I'm done now) a wedding in NY so I know the level of difficulty, but your wedding and honeymoon looked amazing! (I loved it so much I made my MOH read the WHOLE thing). Congrats on everything and best wishes in the future.

We were just at a family wedding this weekend with many of the same people who attended our wedding. They are still raving about the colors, decorations, location and the 7 entree options all this time later.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! As a girl from Brooklyn myself, with a mom who would love for me to get married at The Palm House in BBG, I never envisioned a LI wedding....but as we continue the RH search we find ourselves pulled there.

Hello! This response may seem a little strange since 1. I'm from Pittsburgh, not Long Island 2. You're wedding was a few years ago and I'm just now posting a response 3. I joined LIWeddings just so I could respond to your post. I'm getting married in Pittsburgh in May 2009 and purchased the same dress as you - Maggie Sottero: Capri. I started to have doubts about it after a few comments were made to me. One of my not so sensitive bridesmaids told me that dresses like mine 'look like wedding cakes' and that she did not picture me choosing a dress like this. Now keep in mind, this was just a few weeks ago. So my dress obviously has already been purchased and altered. I'm open to opinions, but come on! Why would one of my best friends say that to me just a few weeks before my wedding. She does have a good heart and I'm certain she meant nothing by it. She just doesn't think sometimes. Though my fiance has no idea what my dress looks like, I did tell him the other day that it's full. He was surprised and said that he thought I would have picked something more straight. Again, I know he meant nothing by it, and he said that he will love anything I pick. But then the worrying started. I was much more upset about the comment from my bridesmaid than my fiance so I decided to do a search for the name of my dress so that I could read some happy stories of brides who had chosen the same one. I can't even begin to thank you enough for sharing your story. I've already read it 3 times (ok - maybe not the WHOLE thing, but definitely the parts about the dress) You looked absolutely amazing in it, and I can only hope that I look half as good!!!! I also watched the video that you posted of you and your dad dancing. My fiance and I are taking dance lessons and I was starting to worry that I wouldn't be able to walk, let alone dance in my dress because it's so full! So not only did you ease my mind about my dress choice, seeing you dance all over the floor without tripping on your dress makes me feel so much better. I could go on and on, but I should probably get back to work! I just really wanted to say thank you. If I hadn't come across your post, I would have worried for the next month about how I would have looked in my dress, what my fiance and everyone else would think about it, and if I would be able to dance!! I know your wedding was a few years ago, but hopefully you'll still get this message. Thanks again.
