UPDATED 06/25-WITH PICTURES Our 03/11/05 Watermill Review ( very long!!) With Wedding and HM picsPICS ADDED 03/24
WOW…What a journey it has been that brought me to this review. I joined LIW a few weeks after my engagement and it soon became my second home , I fought with DH over all my time spent here, but without all the brides and Ron and Liz, I NEVER could have made this wedding day the perfect moment in time that it was. I spent hours here planning and dreaming up ways to make my day unique and special.I asked it ALL…seven million polls and questions and always someone was there to help. Thank you to all my friends that I now have.
Special thanks to my bridesmaid Redhead (AKA Oct.2004bride) She was with me from the beginning and then there to share it all with me at the end. I was very lucky to have found a friend like her here . Jenn- you’re a great person, thanks for putting up with me!
To all the other girls who have helped( too many to name but I’ll try) I THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM of my heart! Rainmama( my endless supporter, and now one of my best friends) , Jan05Bride, Swags1016, FeliciaDA, Doodles, Kimberlybride, JennieSunshine, FLaCaTaCa, AGA, MRSKINJune-o5, LILMRS, JLP and JZNCK( my sorta date twins!) Mammandaddyof2, neeniebean86 , BRIBRI529, brideget&jimmy, Octbride05, azoodie and ALL OF MY 05 )% BOARD GIRLS and anyone I may have forgotten ( Im sorry!) You guys are my angels!
The Wedding week started with me being terrified of the weather reports! Of course snow was predicted….…I checked in to the hotel on Thursday night and spent hours organizing EVERYTHING! Putting my veil and headpiece and undergarments out, arranging my toothbrush just so…etc….And of course I couldn’t SLEEP. Finally way after midnight I closed my eyes….
Woke up to pelting snow hitting our window but of course the snow dance had been done and right before we were due to leave, the sun came out and the day ended up warm and beautiful!!!! The snow on the ground added to the pictures!
Hair and make up girls showed up and one by one the BM’s to get ready. Slightly freaked out over the photographer showing up and me not dressed yet and them telling me to go here, go there, pose here….I had a semi breakdown and locked myself in the bathroom hysterically crying and trying not to ruin my make up. The stress is a KILLER and I finally broke down. The very worst part was all I wanted at that moment was DH and he wasn’t there and I couldn’t bare to be without him a second longer, figuring the quicker I got out of there , the quicker I would get to him so I calmed down and got myself dressed.
Pictures were taken at the hotel, we piled in the limo and off we went. I still kinda “wanted out” and when we got to the church I was shaking like a leaf, and had to hold myself back from RUNNING down the aisle to DH. The second I peeked in the church doors and saw him, standing there, shuffling from foot to foot waiting for me…….. I started to cry, This time out of complete relief and happiness. I cried my heart out, all tears of complete happiness and relief walking down the aisle almost pulling my Dad to get to him. I could cry again now writing this…… the second I reached the alter and took DH’s hand I felt like FINALLY I had found what I needed and wanted and was complete. IT’s the most surreal moment and I will never forget that second because its in my heart forever. It’s an amazing feeling to walk an aisle to get to the one you love as much as life itself and think, this is it, We are together now..FOREVER…
The service was beautiful and the smile on my face stayed there and never left!
Off to the Watermill we went where all that was perfect got even BETTER. They made my wedding dreams a reality and I’m grateful for that. I didn’t stress at all over anything, I actually enjoyed taking pictures and running around in my dress.
My day was ultimately ALL I wanted it to be. I have not one regret. I danced with my husband, smiled, laughed and cried, and I wish that feeling of true complete happiness for everyone at least once in their lives.
Advice for those still planning….dont let anyone tell you what YOU envision your day to be cannot happen. We scrimped/saved/cried/fought/smiled and laughed and it was worth every second. REMEMBER every second of the day. Force the moments into your memory because it goes by faster then you can imagine. Smile, dance and laugh…There should be no more stress because you did ALL you could.

Re: Our 03/11/05 Watermill Review ( very long!!)
Vendor reviews –From The beginning:E-bay ( I bought it ALL….lol)
-Programs (buyer no longer registered but I bought 200 programs for $9.99 and they were adorable!)
-Tiaras- ( no longer have user id’s )
I bought two tiaras off E-bay because I really didn’t know what I wanted. I ended up selling both back , but I had a lot of luck with E-bay as both tiaras were less then $20 with shipping and really only slighter less good of a quality then the more expensive one I bought from Barrons…I would recommend E-bay for Tiaras at a low price.
BM books- angelsmiles123 A+++++++
These were the best gift idea. Cute books to give to the BM’s, MOH and my mom. They were like journals where you could write why you picked them, what they did for you, what you learned from their friendship; how you met etc…I LOVED THEM!! ( Though I ended up not using them, as I ran out of time to fill them out)
Memorial Candle- celtwedding A+++++++
This was a custom made candle with a nice poem and the names of those family members passed….VERY low price. Everyone loved it!!
Table Cameras- cameras1001 A+++++++++
Amazing deal. They were about $2.50 each, pre wrapped in wedding wrap and with a card to put near each camera.
Ribbon- efavormart A+++++++++
Best prices around for all types of Ribbon…even with shipping MUCH less then any stores…
CP candles- cudgefabrics A+++++++++++ (also known as www.cudge,net)
I knew I would get the best deal on E-bay for these. I ordered 144 votive candle holders with the votives. They were $64.99. They came nicely packed, but there were 2 or 3 broken candles and 1 broken votive. Still not a big deal based on the price. I ended up buying about 75 more for the tables..came VERY VERY FAST!)
Glassine envelopes- for cry packs and Lotto tickets favors- saca A++++++++++++++
Amazing deal! I paid around $3 for 150 of them (ordered 2x). They were the same as sold by Blissweddingmarkets.com and about $30 cheaper…PERFECT for things like my favors and crypacks.
Calligraphy print for my BM (sister) calligraphygirl A+++++++++++
This was hand made calligraphy print for my sister. For $6.95 it was a great deal!
MIL Handkerchief-(seller mainemomof4 ) A++++++++++
I bought this for FMIL..It said “Thank you for raising your son to be the man of my dreams. It was hand embroidered in our wedding color with our names and Date on the bottom. It was done in about 2 days, and I received it in a bout a week. Much better then the $30 plus dollars they charge in the catalogs.

Re: Our 03/11/05 Watermill Review ( very long!!)
Veil/tiara- BARRONS (Tri-County Flea market) A+++++++++++++++I heard about this place from my fellow LIW girls and knew I had to check it out.
Everything they said is true. The woman there is so friendly and helpful. I knew what I wanted veil wise and she gave me a few others to try on and she didn’t make me feel bad, saying no to the ones I didn’t like. We made mine out of two different styles and It is amazing.
I had already bought two tiaras from E-bay and had decided I really was not the “Tiara” type. I tried on a lot of hair clips and pins at Barrons but I still looked plain because I had a very simple veil. She asked me what style I liked and helped me find a tiara I loved…she really knows what she’s doing. I was there for all of 45 minutes, maybe less and I had the best experience. HIGHLY recommended!!
Dress-DAVIDS BRIDAL -C
The first place I went was to David’s Bridal because of their large selection of dresses and sizes to get a feel of what I wanted. Plus I searched all over for an all lace dress similar to the Jessica Simpson wedding dress and they were the only place that carried one under $2000. It was the first dress I tried on there and it was a little small so it was hard to get a feel for. I tried on few more that day but didn’t feel anyone was the “ one”.
We waited about 40 minutes that day even though we had an appointment but it was packed and I expected a wait there on a Saturday afternoon. The woman who helped me was assisting someone else at first as well but after a few minutes was attending and helping just me. She was a doll and very helpful…The girls behind the front desk were nothing more then RUDE and unfortunately add to David’s Bridal having a bad name for themselves. After a few more places and liking some dresses, I decided to go back to David’s to try on the first dress again to make sure. This time we made a Sunday appointment. There was an accident on the parkway on the way there. I called David’s and told them I would be a little late. They said ok. We showed up about 40 minutes past my appointment, but there were only a few people in the store. The girls at the desk were once again VERY rude, and stated they had no-one available to help me. Meanwhile there must have been 6-7 girls walking around chatting doing nothing. After causing a stink, my Mom finally asked for the manager who was VERY apologetic and got someone to help us right away. Again, the attendant was VERY nice and helpful and I ended up loving the dress and since this time they had my size I bought it right there. David’s does make you pay upfront, so check ALL your paperwork before paying.
They said my dress would be in around 6-10 weeks later. My dress actually came 2 & ½ weeks later. They do request you pick up the dress within 5 days (though I hear you can negotiate them holding it if you have it altered there). Since we were not having it altered there we went to pick it up. This time was a little hectic again…they put my dress on a rack and I waited around till they could find someone to help me try it on and check it. The girl was the same as my last appointment and very very nice. I had just had a hair trial and they were all ohhing and ahhing and all the sales girls/attendants did a great job in making me feel like a bride. Overall, I would say you get what you pay for. The attendants there all seemed very nice and helpful. The regular staff (desk people etc.) leave a lot to be desired, but my dress came in very fast and I cant say that the experience was all that bad. In the end I didn’t lose enough weight to wear this dress. The attendant at David’s told me to order the size I tried on, and I only needed to lose about 1- 015 lbs. I did lose that weight, and the dress was WAY too small still. I don’t completely blame it on them, I knew it was small. They would not refund the dress with the tags on it or anything. Overall, their dresses are really not that much less then other places, I think they are great to go to to “look” but I wouldn’t recommend them for a true bridal experience. The Customer service is NEEDED to make you feel special.
Commack Wedding Center – BM’s and FG dresses -D
I don’t have that much good to say about Commack Wedding Center. The good thing is the price can’t be beat. I didn’t see anything anywhere else as cheap. The bad news is everything else. The people there are HORRIBLE at Customer Service. It is always a madhouse and they look so frazzled and are at their best RUDE. I went 5 times to help my girls pick out the dresses and get measured. Those first five times, not one person helped us. I retrieved the sample off the rack myself, I helped the girls try it on, and I even had to ask for clips to help them fit into the dress. They will start non work related conversations and act like you’re not standing there waiting for them. I heard them talk bad about brides/bridesmaids etc on EACH occasion, and they are ALWAYS eating. Big sign on the door says no food, but they are constantly eating and there was food all over the counters.
My BM dresses came in on time, but one of my FG dresses was completely the wrong dress, they ended up ordering the correct one……..It came in about a week and a half before the wedding. Two of my BM’s had their dresses altered there. Neither had a good experience. They weren’t happy with the over all service. One BM went in the middle of that awful snowstorm we had, called and was told the seamstress went home, they never even called her to cancel. Overall- I would say GO somewhere else…they just are not worth it, AT ALL!
Invites-( match books, napkins and silver ring bearer rose) Jean M – A++++++++++++
I actually bought Envelopement Invitations first. It was a DIY project and kind of overwhelming. Thanks to JennieSunshine for introducing me to Jean M. I loved every single invite they offered. The invitations were very new to the company and yet their Customer Service was AMAZING. The best Customer Service I dealt with thus far! I ordered 125 invitations; they arrived printed 8 days later. They were PERFECT. The girl who helped me place the order was so patient. It took me over 2 hours on the phone to get it perfect. They even let me change some of the wording to my liking and had tons of suggestions!
The napkins were priced well and I loved them.
The original match’s came with the wrong wedding date. I called them and the said Keep them, we will send you corrected ones. I received the new ones 1 week later and they were fine. Customer Service again corrected the small error and was so nice about it.
I can’t say enough good things about Jean M. They were awesome!
Menus-SonicStef-A+++++++++ I originally was going to make my own menu’s but the DIY was getting to me, so I decided after seeing her do Oct.2004bride’s that I would hire her to do the design and print them myself. Again, what a great vendor! She was so patient with me. I think I emailed her 25 times in a matter of 2 days, and she never complained. Her work speaks for itself. She is amazing at what she does and each and everything she designs is stunning. I was VERY happy with the final menu I choose.
Rehersal Dinner- Doc Lee's Lau ( Lindenhurst) A++++
A great great place to eat. AWESOME food, great staff and amazing drinks. Try the Volcano ( comes in a BOWL..enough said!)

Re: Our 03/11/05 Watermill Review ( very long!!)
HM-In and out travel- AI originally went to them set on Aruba for our HM. When we went the airline had not announced the tickets yet and so we were given a “quote”. A few months later I called and the price for our date was actually $2700 more then the quote. To me that was a big difference. We then decided we needed to go “cheaper” and choose Costa Rica. Dave at In and Out booked our 9 day stay and we got a VERY low price. Unfortunately we decided we didn’t think Costa Rica was for us, and decided to cancel. We did have some issues with the refund not being what we expected (was less), and sometimes they get their info mixed up..think your someone else etc. but I think for the most part they are a good agency and I think their only real problem is lack of staff, they seem overwhelmed and that’s where the problems stemmed from. We went back to them in the end for our final Bahamas Honeymoon, and this time it was much better, though again not without issues. We got a very low price, they were very attentive, but we had a mix up with the Credit card at one point, where Delta airlines had charged 4 sets of R/T tickets to my card. On Dave’s behalf he worked VERY hard to correct the mistake, and while I still think you have to stay on top of them to get what you want, I didn’t have any major heartbreak/problems so I’m not complaining. Our HM to the Bahamas was great and I honestly would use In and Out Travel again. They work very hard to make you happy, they really do know a lot about the resorts and destinations.
Limos-Serenity A
Bachelorette party- GREAT! We got a 10 passenger limo, was right on time, clean and perfect. On the way out though we heard a large banging noise, and turned out a belt or something broke in the limo. To their credit they replaced our car with a Limo Bus at the end of the night and they gave us our hour of overtime for free, that MORE then made up for some banging noise…since we did get where we were going in one piece. The limo drivers (Eddie, and another) were amazing, very very nice, and pleasant!
Wedding Day and HM airport Drop-off) –Eddie picked the girls up at the hotel and he was right on time, and waited while we finished with the pictures. He helped me with my dress train and I was calmed by having him there. We did feel the limo taking the BP to the Watermill was smaller then expected, but that was more our error as a 14 passenger really holds more like 10 comfortably. All in all they are a great company and would use them again.
Make Sure you check and confirm, the reception had some of our info wrong a few days before the wedding, but it was easily corrected.
Our airport drop off went perfect. The limo was early and we had a great ride!
Photographer/video- ADA- A++++++++++++++++
I don’t have the final pictures so this is based on their job I know of. I loved them. They were their right when they said, we had 3 photographers, a MILLION pictures taken. Their staff is polite, funny and the best to work with!
Video- Mike the video guy as he called himself was the BEST!!! I don’t even remember seeing him, he stayed out of our way and the best part is our video was done 6 DAYS after the wedding. We haven’t picked it up yet but WOW that was FAST!!!
I cant recommend them enough!
Church-Our lady of assumption- A+++++++++ PERFECT! Everything from Rehearsal to day of was AMAZING!!!
Make-up Jacqueline Nicole A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Free trials are always a plus!! And she really goes out of her way on the trial to make sure you’re happy. I had the air-brushing and it was great! Held up for hours and hours! JN is honestly one the nicest people I have ever met. I could not have made it through that morning without her and TaraLei…..She was on time, smiling and like an old friend. She did all of our make-up to perfection and she made us laugh and calmed me down during a little outburst. She followed me around to the bedroom with the make-up when I was “hiding” from the Photographers and re-applied and did everything I ask. I LOVED my make-up and I’m grateful I had her there. She was by far one of the best choices I made and her reputation speaks for itself, she is truly a gem!
Hair-Taralei- A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I had two trials with Tara before the day of, and I love her to death. Shes so sweet!!. Each time I brought her a picture and she copied it to perfection. She truly is amazing at what she does. Like JN , she was one of the BEST choices I made. Everyone loved their hair and mine came out better then I expected. We played around with my bangs till they were perfect and she never once got frazzled that I was stressing over two pieces of hair and where they should go! She is such a professional. She too is like an old friend. She kept reminding me during my mini outburst that everyone on that day worked for ME and I was their boss and to stop apologizing, etc. I didn’t want her to LEAVE! I recommend her to ANYONE!!!!
Hotel-Courtyard by Marriott- A+++++++++++++++++++++
Nothing but good things to say. We stayed Thursday Night , and the night of the wedding. The Suite was HUGE…full kitchen, HUGE bathroom with large Jacuzzi. IT was perfect. They delivered our hotel baskets and free breakfast vouchers and I truly would recommend this hotel to anyone! The poor hotel Sales girl was driven NUTS by my e-mails and she answered them timely and arranged everything for us. The price was great as well.
The shuttle even took two of our guests to the Watermill after they got on a shuttle to the wrong wedding! No charge!
Flowers-La Blossom-A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
What can I say about the amazing Laurie that hasn’t been said already? She’s the nicest, most professional person you will meet, yet you feel like you have known her forever. At the beginning, I must have asked her for 50-100 quotes and she is right there, to help , to FM and e-mail you. I booked her without a second thought. I still drove her nuts with e-mails and she acts like its normal…She truly loves what she does and it shows. She created more or less our bok’s and they were so stunning I wanted to cry. I keep looking at the pictures, the colors compliment so well. At the last minute we asked her to decorate our cake. It was AMAZING! She’s a genius and I would say again, truly one of the best decisions we made was to use Laurie!!!!!

Re: Our 03/11/05 Watermill Review ( very long!!)
Iblossoms-CP petals-A+++++++They are another FANTASTIC smaller vendor. I ordered my rose petals (silk) on a Tuesday night around 6:00 PM. They arrived the NEXT day at 1:00 in the afternoon, and the shipping was a regular shipping rate! If that wasn’t enough, when I originally tried to order from their website, they were doing website construction and the order didn’t completely go through …The called me right away to advise me, and e-mailed me as well , and offered me 1000 free petals as compensation. (compensation that really wasn’t even needed in my opinion) . The rose petals were the best quality I found, and I looked EVERYWHERE, ordered samples form so many companies, some charging much more money. Their price is great, I cannot say enough about this great company!
Blissweddings- A
Labels for favors packaging, cry packs, Cd labels, Hang tags-
Always came as described, fast shipping and a truly excellent product. We had all our labels matching , and it added a lot to our favors.
I ordered a TON of labels from them. Their prices were a little high in my opinion, but the product was wonderful. No problems what so ever and it was hard to find a better quality product, and I LOOKED!
Shoes-Love my shoes and DSW- I bought a pair of shoes at Love my shoes on Clearance for $9.99 as back ups. They have a good collection to choice from there. I didn’t like my first pair that much so I went to DSW in Commack. They had more on their clearance rack then on the floor. I ended up getting $170 Stuart Weitzman shoes on sale for $48, that’s a GOOD deal!
Jewelry-I opted not to wear a necklace due to the neckline of my dress. I bought an awesome pair of earrings that matched my dress perfectly for TARGET for $12.99. They do have some nice stuff, check them out.
BM’s jewelry- Tri-County Flea Market -Joan’s Jewelry A+++
I ordered 5 sets of matching necklaces/earrings. They came in in 3 weeks, they were less then $20 a set and she has a GREAT selection. She boxed them and everything. GREAT place for jewelry!
Wedding bands-
Brides-Whitehall Jewelers- A+++++++++++
I got my engagement ring here and went back on a whim to look at the bands. I ended up with a white gold ½ carat 7 stone diamond ring. It’s so beautiful and for $500. They have some truly great pieces, best prices around, check then out!
Grooms band- Krystins Jewelers ( Bayshore mall) A
They have a great selection as well, spent lots of time with us. I do think their prices are a little high. We saw the exact same ring at Whitehall afterwards for a lower price. They also sized DH’s band and when it came in it was too big in my opinion, but he kept it anyway. Still a very nice place and great people there.
Undergarments-Georgettes- A++++++++++
What a place. These woman KNOW what they are doing, and are just the sweetest people you will ever meet. Very good prices, great customer service. HIGHLY recommended!!!!! I wanted to stay and hang out with these woman afterwards, they treat you like their children!
DJ-Tommy Tunes-A++++++++++++
These guys are the best around hands down ( in my opinion of course) . Our MC was Joe E and he was hysterical! He kept the party going, danced with us all and truly MADE the night for us. They played ALL of our must plays, they followed our instructions perfectly, and I cant wait to have a party to use them again!
2nd Dress- Renates-A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I could go on and on and on about this place all day. As from above you heard about my Davids Bridal too small dress. I took this dress to Renate’s thanks to a BM’s recommendation for a fitting. They couldn’t do anything at all with it, it was too small
( and looked horrible to be honest!) Well After a complete MELTDOWN in the store, Donna the owner and her great girls helped me by letting me look and try on EVERYTHING in the shop. They ended up selling me my true DREAM dress off the rack, and even tried to sell my original dress for me.
Each fitting I fell in love with them more and more. They are such a great team or woman. They treated us like family and on the day I picked up my beautiful dress, I cried at seeing it finally done and because I couldn’t go there once a month for fittings anymore. The do treat you as if you are the QUEEN and I would recommend them to anyone. I cannot find enough words to express how well they treated me there. They let me switch Crinolines and bras when my original ones didn’t work with the new dress. I will go there for any future dresses without a doubt. A Wonderful place that made my wedding dreams come true.
Tuxedos-Camelot Tuxedo’s ( Babylon) – A+++++++
Great place, no problems at all. The tux’s were a day late due to the ice storm but the owner opened early the next day to have everything ready. He went above and beyond to make all the guys happy. Would recommend , great great selection!!
Moms dresses
Lord and Taylor- A++++
Estelles- A++++
Both places has a great staff , very willing to help, and best of all GREAT prices.
Miscellaneous-
Exclusively weddings A+++++
I ordered a sterling silver picture frame for my mom and Calligraphy bags for my BM’s with their names on it…They were the perfect touch for giving the gifts out in. The girls LOVED the bags with their names on them.
Polaroid Guest Book- Adesso albums A++++++++++++
BEAUTIFUL Book, well made and was such a great memory to have for years to come!
Worth the money!

Re: Our 03/11/05 Watermill Review ( very long!!)
Saving the BEST for last-
The Watermill- A MILLION A++++++++++’s
The Watermill was the first place we went and it was all we imagined. I actually told my Mom when I was 15 that I wanted to get married there. The staff there treats you like your wedding is their only priority. I drove our BM crazy with questions, and he didn’t complain. The Food is AMAZING. The cocktail hour food kept coming and coming. The bridal attendant was there waiting for us when the limo pulled up. She brought us ALL drinks and food and everytime we put a drink down there was another full one there ready for us. They must have asked us 100 times if there was anything we needed. We had a lot of instructions on what should go where, etc…it was all done to perfection! The Maitre’d Jim was truly a saint. The nicest man, always by our side , and ran the party brilliantly! Every little thing was perfect. I heard so many compliments and I have to agree they did an amazing job. My Cp’s were perfect, my cake table looked picture perfect! The grounds are stunning and we got some GREAT shots!
Anyone considering the Watermill or my fellow Watermill brides to be, you have NOTHING to be worried about. I didn’t have second to worry because they thought of it all, from the pictures of us being displayed, to the Slipper basket being in the bathroom ( by the way they were ALL gone in less then 15 minutes!) to my votive placecard table. I cant even think of enough good things to say about this place. They are truly professionals and VERY good at what they do!
Honeymoon- Radisson Cable Beach (Nassau Bahamas) A++++++++
An amazing place to stay! The only place that might be better would be Atlantis or Sandals, but compared to the slightly smaller resorts , less expensive ones, it blows them away. The beach area is HUGE , almost 3-4 times the size of the others next to it. Complimentary watersports, 3 HUGE pools, bars, 6 restuarants, Casino and small shopping mall. The views from the balconys ( all rooms have them) are great! The rooms are a decent size, bathrooms kinda small but we didn’t spend mush time in the room. If you go to Nassau –DO the Dolphin Encounter on Blue Lagoon Island, its worth every dime. We ate twice at Café Johnny Canoes on W. Bay street- huge portions, great environment. A great vacation and we would defiantly stay at the Radisson again. Some of the nicest staff we have ever ever met!
OK, I doubt I could have left anything out, but FM me if anyone wants more details!
I’m MARRIED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
