why is it tacky? its something i know my fh and i think about when it comes to planning how much we should spend

Its very Tacky. If you are planning your wedding based on how much you are going to get back, then maybe you shouldnt be planning a wedding you cant afford. Not you specifically, Im talking about anyone.

I couldn't believe anyone would post something like when I satrted reading the thread. but...I have to confess that I finished reading it LOL. A few of the brides 2B got on her case about her ethics.
When I first joined this site last month people were giving this particular poster a hard time. I think she's gone now.
Very strange behavior.

while amy's story is a unique one to say the least....if you are more scientific about your wedding (as my fh is) you try to figure out a formula to see how things will even out when you come down to the wedding day
yes talking about $ in public is tacky to some extent but i think its a valid concern to try and get a sense of what people give as gifts for weddings these days
my parents woudl still be giving 50 dollars unless i told them how much it costs per plate these days

yeah..once someone think somthing is negative here...everybody jumps on the band wagon...
this is one reason why i dislike liw because you cant give honest feedback even when sombody ask you to be honest about it

yea, some of her stuff was 'out there'. Like I said, I was too new to know. But I caught on quick. She used to talk a lot about her son being sick and on constant meds. I also saw about 10 different posts from her about where she should have her wedding.

yes, I noticed that lately (past week or so). A lot of folks are worried about hurting others feelings. Well, everyone has different taste... otherwise this world be very boring IMO.

i hope i don't get flamed for this...we should be careful how we talk about future brides. she could be lurking on here. would u want her feelings to be hurt. i just like to see everyone happy
