Do you have a piggy bank?

Yes a baby bottle. I put all my change into it and cash it every year. I get like $150

Yes, we have a large water jug. I usually cash it in 1X a year. It has paid for our living room furniture, spending $ for our honeymoon, bedroom furniture, etc. I try to throw bills in there too, not just change. It's amazing how much change u can save up.

I throw bills in mine too and DH always makes fun of me saying that I'm a bad saver, but I figure that counts.. right? hahaha

We cashed ours in around Christmas time and got $600.. so I figure I can't be THAT bad of a saver

my friend did this before her wedding. She started saving all of her extra coins from the moment she got engaged and after maybe a year (probably less) she had enough 'spare change' to buy her fiance's wedding band for him.

We don't do it though. We should. We put all of our extra change in a coffee mug, but still use it when need it (like if he needs a dollar or so for lunch that day) so it's not really being 'saved'. But we really should try that.

yea we both do- it annoys dh that I wont put mine in with his but I also stick dollar bills in with my silver change- and its a shoe fund

Yep we hav a big water jug we put our money into. We started doing this when we heard Suze Orman (sp?) on TV one day, and she said you should never ever pay with change, but take the change you get and throw it in a container.

DH Emptied our Jug O change and we had over $600. It was nice!!!

I am so bad with saving money like that. DH had a whole bunch of quarters in his little 'mets' piggy bank,b ut I used them all for laundry lol He must've had hundreds in there lol

Oh well. I just keep my change in my wallet. I always need it, so I keep it on me. I can't part with it. :(

We do, we cashed it in right before our wedding last year and have over 800 bucks. We were shocked but it was so helpful. We are saving again...and are going to cash it in right before our 1 yr anniversary, for spending money on our vaca.

DH saved all of his change!! It ends up being like $200 + per year, just by emptying your pockets.

It's going towards one of those outdoor kitchen/grill thingies when we have a house

I don't, but DH is so good! He doesn't spend his change OR his dollar bills! He has 3 of those large pretzel containers and each holds a different type of coin. Well, I think he combined the dimes and nickels in one. They are all over half full! Gotta be a couple of thousand at least! And his dollars he wraps in clumps of $100 like the bank does and then deposits them $500 at a time into our savings account. If I didn't spend my change or dollars, I'd be poor ALL the time

I don't put all of my change in our water jug either. DH doesn't have anywhere else to put his, so he empties his pockets at night and puts the change there, you know? I will take some change out og my wallet if it gets heavy with change, but that's it.

DH has a water jug that he dumps his change into. I don't. I hoarde quarters for the washing machine, parking meters.

It's a rainy day shoe fund!

I used to put bills in mine too, but I never have cash in my wallet lol

Yup. I even bought an automatic coin thingie (sorts coins into the wrappers) and yet I still am too lazy to do it and then put it in the bank.

Yes. It's from DHs job and it actually is a pig. It's not that big but the first time I cashed it out I got $75
