Re: Education.
I have a Bachelor's in communications (SJU) and have not worked even 10 minutes in the field!!!
An MBA was on the agenda about 10 years ago (my company would've paid for it!) but they also offered me a job working in Hong Kong at the same time. I took the latter, stayed there 3 years and traveled ALL over the place, and have not regretted it one little bit!!! Good luck with your dilemma, i know you've been looking for direction on that lately!!!!

So until i finish that I cannot graduate. I need two to certify despite passing all ym major.minor classes with flying colors and all of my teachign exams. Very frustrating.

the issue I have, working in private equity, is that without an MBA, I will never be much more than an analyst. BUT how do I got to Bus School, work full time & raise a 9 month old? I'm stuck in a rut.

Re: Education.
I am 6 credits away from my BA in Business Administration, with a concentration in HR Management.
I started an accelerated program in Sept of 05', 2 year program, but its taken me a few months longer b/c I stopped taking classes around the time of our wedding.
I graduate on May 10th. Can't wait to be done!!

You're still young & childless.... You have time sigh...I'm 33 WITH a child
I'm SERIOUSLY thinking about going for my BFA. I have a BA in communications and media, so all my bulls*it classes I dont have to take, just the art ones.
I spent about a year taking art & psychology classes for pre reqs to start grad school in Creative Art Therapy.
Now, I'm not so sure it's where I want to be.
I'm an artist but I don't have a DEGREE in art, so maybe that's what I should do.
If I didn't have a son and plan to have ANOTHER within the next few years, this would be much easier

That's EXACTLY how I feel. Granted, my son is seven, but we plan to have a baby within the next year or so... (I'm not young)
I'm torn...

Re: Education.
I have a BA in Accounting. I am currently working on my MBA about 1/2 way done. I started mt MBA as soon as I graduauted with my BA. I want to get it out of the way & my job pays for most of it (depends on the grade). I should graduate in May 09. I am just soo tired of school. I feel like i have been in school forever. I can't wait to be done!!!
ETA: I am only 23. I want to finish the MBA before I have kids....Once I have kids there is NO way I would be able to go back to school....I am so tired now.....if i had a baby on top of that.....not a good combo for me

Re: Education.
I have a Bachelor's in Psychology. I was planning on getting my doctorate, but became scared of all of the responsibilty I'd have with patients. At the same time, I was picked up to do Marketing work by the VP of the company I was working for at the time. I started working FT doing Marketing and was going to school FT at the same time. By the time I graduated, he made me a great offer and I was burnt out. So I didn't go to grad school. But I want to, and the company I'm with now will pay for it. I'm just deciding if I want to do it now or have a baby. It's easy for people to say go to grad school and have a baby later, but having a baby is really important to DH and I and not something we really want to put off much longer. BTW, I'm only 24, so I hear it all the time. But I make really good money ($20K more than I should at my age), so I feel like it's okay to put off the MBA.

Re: Education.
High school and then right to work. Took alot of wrong paths and it's killing me now because I'm stuck in a boring, dead-end job. Was accepted into Hunter College in 6th grade-too scared to go. Then, in junior high, accepted into Stuyvesant & Bronx School of Science; once again, too scared to go. So ended up going to local HS which was a scary place at the time and ended up dropping out & getting my GED. No money for college.
If my teachers from junior high could see me now, they would freak. Feel like I wasted my entire teens and twenties.
Best of luck to all of you-hope you figure out what you want to do. Sorry for rambling-just hurts when I think about this kind of thing.

Re: Education.
Bachelors in Biochemistry and Judaic Studies ( I thought I was going to go to dental school, but got really involved in non-profit work instead)
Masters in Public Administration
I'm thinking of getting an MBA, too, but I'm too lazy to go back to school.
