Re: Education.

BA in History and Pol Sci.
Masters of Public Policy

I went straight through for my MPP from undergrad. There are times when I wish I had taken a year off in between, but then I would be where I am now and I never would have met DH.

I have my BA in Sociology from Queens College
I also have my Master's in elementary education from Queens College.

I can basically wipe my butt with these degrees though since I can't land a permanent job!!!!

Re: Education.

I have a BS in Education (Elementary Ed.) and a Masters of Science in Ed. (Special Ed- Learning disabilities).

I think education is all how you look at it. I am teaching and LOVE it and am in a great school district, but looking back I tihnk I should have majored in a subject (i.e. history, English, psychology, etc. undergrad.) because really just the masters in Ed. with any background from undergrad. would have gotten me to the same place i am now, so in hindsight, i would have liked more variety in my higher ed. experience. I too am contemplating going back to school. . . i would like a doctorate in Education, but it's SOO expensive and on a teacher's salary, it's hard... i would like to have a baby (or babies) sometime in the next few years so i think i will put it off for now.

DH has a law degree that he worked really hard for. Passed the bar and only worked for a few years.... hated it. ... he's now back at school getting a Masters in Ed. to teach high schoolers.

life throws us so many things that we think we want and then we do them and it doesn't always work out. it sounds like you have so many talents and skills, i know it will all work out for you!
GOOD LUCK!

Re: Education.

I got my BFA in musical theater and used that for a few years- then decided the performer's life was not for me. At about 28-29 years old I decided to go back to school for a career change- music ed. So I got my masters. It's never too late!

Caroline, you can do it! I can imagine it would be more of a challenge since you're a mom...but plenty of moms do it. I'm sure you have plenty of people in your life to support you!
