How long was your engagement...and if you could do it all over again .... would you have made it longer, shorter, or kept the same?

Re: Leese's NewlyWed Question of the Week...
2 years and 3 months. It felt long at the time, but we were able to pay for it without incurring debt or assistance from our families, which was the most important thing to us. Plus, I really enjoyed the time on LIW.

Re: Leese's NewlyWed Question of the Week...
We got engaged in December of 2004 and married in February of 2006.
We wanted a winter wedding, but we originally planned for eary January of 2006, but DH's sister got engaged right after us and started planning a September 2005 wedding.....JUST after we booked Giorgio's for February (all their family is OOT and it would be 5 months instead of 4, etc) she found out she was pregnant and moved it to May of 2005.
But....I had a rough first couple of months of my engagement, I lost my grandmother who was very dear to me a year ago, and I was allowed to heal and not plan (honestly, we were planning around her, that was what made it so hard for me). Once I got into the swing of things, it got easier and I adored our wedding.
Exactly a year and a half and it was the perfect amount of time. We wanted the wedding in June because of the weather and also our dating anniversary is in June as well.

Our engagement was 6 months, it was perfect for us! Our wedding was actually 1 year (and a few days) from when we met!

Engagement was 18 months and I think it was perfect timing. Not too long, not too short.

Re: Leese's NewlyWed Question of the Week...
We were engaged in January 2004, and married in December 2005, so just under 2 years.
At the time it seemed like FOREVER, but it ended up being perfect!

14 months-though I would have preferred more time. I wouldn't change the date of our wedding, but I would have him ask me earlier!

We were engaged a little under a year. I really wanted a Christmas wedding, so I wouldn't change a thing.

18 MONTHS.
i am the type to say 'no regrets' to many things, but I think i would have made the engaement shorter. i was planning from moment one, and by the end, i was burned out and stressed and ready to just be married!

Re: Leese's NewlyWed Question of the Week...
We were engaged for 16 months. Engaged in Nov of 04, originally looking to get married in Oct/Nov of 05, but the hall didn't have any good dates for us. March 06 is when we got married and looking back, we needed that time to plan/save, although it did drag at times.

We were engaged Feb 14 '02 and got married Sept 13 '03 so a total of 1year and 7 months which was perfect for us. It gave us time to save $$ & DH to sell his co-op.
