Stolen from LIF: Does anyone else feel like they do everything?
I read this on the relationship board and it made me angry how many women are stuck doing EVERYTHING in their house
DH and I share responsiblites...I work to ya know! Sure I think I end up doing more...but we shoot for 50/50. Since I get home earlier I think I assume more responsibilites for errands..but from the second we moved in together (after the wedding) I made it clear that I am not the work horse....I think some women like doing all the work (my mom does) I do not and feel that if I did I would resent my DH...plus he grew up with a dad that helped his mom A LOT...so I think that is a huge influence on him...

while I dont do everything- I do a lot. DH works longer hours than I do however, I wish he would help more.
If I ask him to do something- he does it- but he would never like think to vaccum on his own- he has to be asked

I KNOW I do everything!
It's like DH is back at home with his mommy! Please...we would argue so much the 1st couple of months...we never lived together until after the wedding.
I just gave up...I work two jobs so it's not like I am home all day lounging on the couch!
Whatever! That's life I guess!

Yeah, I do most stuff. DH likes to cook and sometimes he will -- either he will help me or 'take over' when I am cooking ... And I do the laundry, the cleaning. Not sure how or why it ended up like this, because I always said I wouldn't be that type of wife whose husbands do nothing --- but here I am. He will help if I ask ... and if people are coming over he definitely pitches in without me asking ... but normally, if the house is a mess, I clean it.

I do everything. Sometimes it bugs me but I got into a groove so most of the time its okay!

its funny that you say that, bc two of my closest friends always told me to just 'tell him to help' well guess what. . . they are both married now and they are going through the same exact thing LOL so sometimes I tease them and tell them to just 'ask for help' and they get so mad at me!

I know me too! It just kind of happened for us- like Anna said- at first we argued a lot the first couple months- then I realized, I was yelling a lot and he still wasnt doing anything- unless I specifically said 'Can you fold the laundry'.
I now leave him a chores list the 2 days a week that I get home late

honestly - i lucked out with a gem of a husband...he always helps me and he'll actually take it upon himself to do things w/out asking too.. the first 6-8months of our marraige i didn't work, and i didn't expect him to do things because i was because i was home..it was my job...but when i started working we made an agreement that it would be 100% and 100% all the time from the both of us..and it has always stayed that way. sure he leaves his clothes around from time to time...and i will say - dh does NOT cook lol..(however i enjoy cooking so it's fine..) but majority of the time i feel like a very luck gal
eta: if u knew my hubby BEFORE we were married his actions now would shock u! everyone swore it would take a lifetime to get him to lift a finger because he was so spoiled! lol. guess all those nay-sayers were WRONG!

I do everything, except take out the garbage. Once in a while he goes grocery shopping with me. I'd rather he didn't because I can do it faster and junk food doesn't wind up in my cart.
Gave up trying to get DH to do stuff, so I just do it myself. I like a clean house, I like clean underwear, and I like having milk for my coffee.
On the other hand, if I tell DH that I don't feel like cooking, then we eat whatever is in the house or order something in.

I honestly think DH does more than me! I feel bad sometimes because I'm sitting on the couch watching tv and he's running around straightening up. The only thing he never does is dust because his allergies are so bad. I always do the dusting but I don't mind because he really does a lot around the house.

DH and I share responsibilities as well. I do run most of the errands but DH will tag along every once in awhile. If I didn't work, then yes I would probably take care of our home and assume all household responsibilities.

I could have wrote this myself. This is basically how it is with DH and I. He definitely does a lot more than I do around the house. Lately it's been split evenly. We'll do things together at night or on the weekends if he's home early enough.

That is me three....
Although i am not going to Lie, DH will pick up the vacumm and if he sees dishes in the sink he will wash them. My favorite is when he emptys out the dishwasher for me!!!!!!

i do A LOT
BUT
DH does a lot too - and i think that sometimes he thinks i'm being lazy but i like that he spoils me and i let him....
he can tell when im not up to something - last night i started straightening up when i got home, was non stop until it was time to pick him up from the bus - i was too tired to cook, i was so hungry i literally shaking - so he took it upon himself to make dinner - without me even having to ask...he just does things like that....
what i am trying to say is we know how to read eachother. if im not up too something i usually dont have to ask for help, he just does it.
but if i stopped cleaning on a regular basis the house would probably fall apart

I do everything except cook. DH cooks every night and once in a while does the dishes. For the most part though I do everything.
Oh he also does all of the outside work (mow the lawn, etc.) and he does all the ehavy lifitng and fixing.

When I am having one of my 'emotional , bitchy' days. I feel like telling him to get the hell off of his computer and stop playing WOW , just to help me take the garbage out or something.
He does do what I ask of him, but he is a guy, he didn't grow up cleaning and cooking like most of us may have. That's at least how I grew up.
I just wish he felt the need to wipe down the counter, or do the dishes (properly) on a daily basis lol

I pretty much handle all the household chores but he does all the handy man stuff plus he works a ton of overtime so I cant complain to much
