When my Dad and I reached to the front of the altar, my Dh had tears in his eyes and when my Dad went to give him my hand he bent over and kissed it as the tears streamed down his face, thats when I realized that all the sacrafice and troubles that we had went through in the past 11 years were finally over and our new life was beginning.

Our first dance it hit me when I realized we were husband and wife. It was truly a HAPPY memory that will be cherish forever. We've danced to 'Love Will Keep Us Alive' by Eagles.

This will probably sound stupid, but my DH called my best friend on the morning of the wedding and said, 'Tell Sue, it's not to late for us to fly out to Vegas. There's a plane leaving in 2 hours.'

I had been nervous and nauseous all morning and that made me laugh!

The whole day was unbelievable but for me it was the suprise gift from my husbands business partner, a bagpiper. He began playing in the vineyard and gradually made his way to the dance floor, playing the whole time. It was amazing timing as he entered to the background of a typical east end thunder and lightening display. As he entered our tent, the sky opened up and it began to absolutely downpour. Normally, this would be a nightmare for a wedding but the sound of the storm coupled with the pipes was incredible. To this day and forever it will give me chills, becuase at that moment it felt like no one else was around it was just the two of us and then looking around and seeing all of our family in friends in one spot together frozen in time was great!!

I can't pick just one!

At the church the Monsignor read out loud letters that he wanted us to write to him about why we wanted to marry each other. Everyone cried, and laughed. We had no idea he was going to read them at the ceremony!! They are on the viedo. We are going to watch that part of the video every year on our anneversary.

Our first dance was amazing. it was choreographed. We were so nervous! He did everything perfectly! He lead ME 100% for the first time! He was so proud of us, I could see it in his eyes!

So, that, plus every other part of the day was just so wonderful!

I don't think I can pick one

When we were standing at the altar holding hands, my DH whispered to me how beautiful I looked and how happy he was.

Our first dance

At the reception, my 7 yr old niece (who is a major tomboy that shops in the boys clothing dept & only wore a dress for me) came up to me on the dance floor and said 'Aunt Denise, this is the best day of my life.' My heart just melted!

What the deacon pronounced us man and wife. It becomes so real right at that moment.

There were so many moments but among my favorite:

My FIL coming over to me before we all entered the church and upon looking at me he said 'goia' - it made me cry.

Walking down the aisle and seeing DH crying. He had tears streaming down his face but he was smiling the whole time.

Hearing the priest announce us as husband and wife to our family and friends.

Well, I couldn't pick just one...there are two actually...

First, I had wanted pics of my MOH helping me in to my dress, but I was done with hair and makeup before she was and the photographer had already arrived, and wanted to do some shots of me alone. So my mom and I went into the spare bedroom and closed the door and she helped me get dressed. When she zipped me up, it just hit me, I said 'Mommy, you just zipped up my wedding dress' and we cried and she kissed me. It's special because it wasn't supposed to happen that way, but it was one of my favorite memories.

Second would have to be when DH gave his speech. He talked about how proud of me he was, and thanked everyone on our behalf. And at the end, he said Well, what else can I say about the girl who still gives me butterflies, but I love you every minute of every day and I look forward to growing old(er) and gray(er) with you.

I know I already responded, but I wanted to add this one other thing.

Our first dance. We had 300 people at the wedding, and those two and a half minutes, I swear it was just DH and I alone in that room. It was such an incredibly amazing feeling.

Can I say 'the whole day'? I can't think of one thing without it making me think of 5 more.

Honestly, the HAPPIEST moment was when we were dancing and finally enjoying everything we had planned so long for. Yes, I was overjoyed with the ceremony, but nothing could compare to how I felt once it had sunk in and we were there in the middle of everyone we know and love.

I can't pick just one either . . .

The first was during the sermon when our pastor asked my husband to describe how he was thinking right that second and he said, 'amazing, amazing, wow she's beautiful'

The second was relief that the pastor only asked me what my favorite color was.

I also LOVED the moment that DH and I had together at the Unity Candle after our vows. DH wouldn't let me walk back to the altar and kept teasing me that he was going to kiss me there and then before the pastor said, 'You may now kiss the Bride.'

And of course I just loved the whole day -- felt like a princess with everyone I loved around me, happy for us. It was so wonderful.

Walking down the aisle with my mom and dad. Mom was quite ill a few years before that and I thought I would lose her.

She looked beautiful. I will always remember the way she looked that day and how she beamed. She was so happy.

I loved the whole day from the minute I walked down the aisle but for some reason, the cake cutting was when I reached the happiest moment of the day.

It was the culmination of just such a perfect day.

That is the sweetest thing!!!
Mine was when I saw DH in the church and our eyes met-I was fine until this point that I started hysterically crying down the aisle
