10 halls ughhhh

10 halls ughhhh

so I have it narrowed down to 10 halls but that's still a lot to drag FH to lol. I don't know which ones I should get off the list. I've searched and read reviews.

does anyone have anything to say good/bad about any of these halls?

Swan Club
Leonards
Douglaston Manor
Fox Hollow
The Riviera
Chateau Briand
Watermill
Villa Lombardi's
Crestwood Manor
Thatched Cottage

really any input is so appreciated to help me out. I like all these places for different reasons and it's just driving me crazy lol

It's so hard to pick

Ok, lets help you narrow down:

1. Are you set on having 1 wedding at a time? If so, you can eliminate some here.

2. What is your budget? You can also eliminate some there.

3. Do you want a venue where you can get married on site? Outdoors? Ocean? Lake? etc.

4. Conveniently located? Further East? More acreage?

Ok...start there

this is why it's hard because I'm not set on having only 1 wedding at a time though at the same time I'd like to be the only one.

all these places are around the same price or 5-10 more so that makes it hard too.

3. I do want to get married on site but if it's late at night or raining it won't really matter what's outside. though I still loved the outside areas at most of these places.

4. I'm in Mineola and it doesn't really matter if it's 5 mins from me or 40 mins as long as I like the place lol. this is why it's so hard to pick.

I think only crestwood is one wedding at a time. which made me really like that. plus it's new. but then I've also always liked fox hollow but one bad thing is if we don't get married outside we have to get married in our reception room and I sort of like the surprise here is the reception room! but then again it won't be set up so maybe it will still be a surprise? you know that like wow feeling when everyone first steps into the reception room? swan club was nice especially the ceremony room but I don't know if i'm that crazy about the CH room or our room. FH loves the grounds though. everything else was nice too. especially villa lombardis. *sighs* plus I liked the bm a lot at villa and the bm at crestwood. it's just making me want to rip my hair out lol then my two friends just said how much they love the chateau but I had my prom there and I dunno.

Swan Club
Leonards
Douglaston Manor
Fox Hollow
The Riviera
Chateau Briand
Watermill
Villa Lombardi's
Crestwood Manor
Thatched Cottage

Went to a wedding about 9 years ago at Swan Club....it was nice from what I remember. Food was good, dessert was good.

Leonards...went to a wedding and about three formals there. Good food, great value.

Fox Hollow...almost booked there...

Chateau Briand....went to a few functions there, not weddings....very pretty. Love the outdoor area.

Watermill.....not really impressed. Waiter never came to our table, had to hunt him down for water. Had to get our drinks at the bar, and there was a nice long line at the bar. Food was ok. Loved the mashed potato bar. Ceremony room was gorgeous!

HTH!

by the way - Thatched is one wedding at a time. Although depending on the size of your wedding, there may or may not be a smaller party booked in the small room at the same time. We had the whole place to ourselves though.

yeah if we didn't have 150 people they'd book a party in that room down there. I won't even know until probably the last few months though if we have 150 or not. I have tons of OOT guests (my moms whole side of the family) and I have no idea if in 2 years people will be able to come or not. it just sucks because I rather just have the place to myself lol.

Ok out of those 3 im going w

CB - consistent, great food and service. Ive never been to a bad wedding there.

Riviera - i just really like the look of the place. Never been there but if FH would have looked at anything after Land's End it would have been there.

Villa Lombardis - elegant and guaranteed the food will be excellent. Prob the best food of the 3.

I love the thatched Cottage...We are getting married on July 3rd. When we went for a tasting before we booked the food was out of this world. I have also never head any brides complain about them. If you want you can do searches in brides review section on some of the halls to help you decide. Good Luck and if you want anymore info on the Thatched Cottage FM me.

-Fox Hollow- when i went to see it there was a wedding going on so I got a quick run through. They were renovating the back yard where the ceremonys are held & he made it seem like they had a lot of ideas of what they were doing with it. I wasn't crazy about the menu.

The Riviera- this was my #2 pick.... LOVED the price, loved the outdoor area, loved the main room. Wasn't too crazy about the woman we met with, but thats just my opinion. I've kept the 'what is it rains' thing in my head & didnt see that many indoor pic options.

Watermill- if my brother didnt get married here I prob would've went with them. Great food, beautiful rooms. We didnt see the outside bc their wedding was in Dec. Couldnt complain about anything.

Villa Lombardi's- Food is always perfect with the lombardi's. you get so much for what you are paying for. I used to work for them so i KNOW their food is amazing. The place is gorgeous too. I didnt go with them bc of their price. I was looking for something cheaper. The guy I met with was a PIA. He called me everyday for a good month. Finally I answered and said i would discuss things and call him back, He still to this day calls me about once a week to ask how things are going. I met with him the end of May. GEEEEEEZ. i guess its my fault for not telling him we already booked somewhere else.

Thatched Cottage- Food choice was different. Indoors and outdoors was GREAT. i didnt like that the cocktail hour was downstairs and reception upstairs. My grandma has a hard time walking so I wasnt too crazy about the steps.

*Hope this helps

I asked about that when I went to see the Thatched Cottage. She said that they could book another party in that room, but only something small and without music... like a baby shower or something. Didn't seem like that big a deal.

The Riviera is also one party at a time.

I think 10 places is fine to take your FH to. My FH and I went to see 10 places in 3 consecutive days -- full tours, including talking through the menus and details and everything. It was surprisingly doable. Since you've already seen all the places, you can tell them that you don't need the whole spiel, that you just want your FH to see the place. That should make the visits a lot shorter. Find out what he likes/dislikes from the first few places you see, and you can use that to tailor the rest of the list.

the only thing is FH never has any days off between his job and his internship he literally just has Sat/Sun night or Tuesday night. obviously the weekend most places have events at night so that cuts out the weekend and just leaves one place a week! he works so much it's nuts.

Staff was great and the food was awesome!!!! People told me my food was better than another family wedding we all went to and that was a super famous well known named caterer.
