What are all of you doing to lose weight?

I (when I don't break it) count my calories and go walking with FH every night. We do at least a mile at a quick enough pace. It may not seem like significant exercise but we both HATE everything about it so this is our compromise.

Our problem is we constantly get off and on off and on. We need to just stay ON!!

I would like to take off the 50 pounds I gained back. Wish I kept them off the first time but I didn't. I lost the weight once. I can do it again.

Yes you can! You got this...you're my couch to 5k inspiration! haha

Haha glad I could help. I technically should have finished week nine yesterday but I had to run out to fh because he was having a bad day so I didn't. I did do a zumba class with my mom but I don't want that to be a substitute for running so I'm redoing week 9 and moving on to 5k to 10k next week.

When I lost weight last time I lost 25 pounds by walking. Its very good excersize as long as you do it at a brisk pace.

I'm trying with Weightwatchers. That's how I've lost so far (and in the past I've lost 25+ with them). Now I'm integrating exercise more because I've gotten lazy and slacked off. Mainly jogging and working out at home because I haaaaaate the gym. I gotta jog more but since weather is nice now hopefully I will stick to it!

I lost 2 pounds on my first week of weight watchers with no exercise. This week I will start back up on my treadmill and hopefully the weight will come off quicker.

I already lost 15lbs so if I lose 30 more I would be happy but I want to lose ultimately 40 more.
I use myfitnesspal.com and track calories and exercise. I have been doing couch 2 5k and do monthly workout challenges. I should be going on to week 4 of couch 2 5k but I just got sick again 11 days before I am supposed to have surgery so a bit od a side track for me. But the second I am back to feeling human it's back to running.

I've missed this board :(

I'm looking to loose about 40lbs - but I'd be happy with 30. I'm down just about 12lbs now. I figure in 1.5 years I can get down another 20 to 30lbs.

I'm currently running. My younger sister is big into running - she actually ran the 1/2 marathon in Nassau yesterday. She motivated me to run. I actually ran my first full 5K last night around my neighborhood :)

Wow! Congrats that's awesome!

I'm in the beginning stages of trying to run. I never felt good, I always felt winded and that detered me from building up a tolerance. I'm trying to stick with it this time!

Definitely stick with it! My sister (who is a big runner) told me that you have your days where you run and you love it and then you have your days where you are arguing with yourself the entire run haha. I run with music - I have to. So I constantly change up my playlist. It helps me out big time. Right now I'm on a Ciara kick :)

I am on week 9 which is the last week. When I first started I couldn't run 30 seconds now I'm running 30 minutes. Do it! Its excellent for a beginner! When I'm done I plan on moving on to 5k to 10k.

Mel I am with ladygood man I am doing it and I love it. It is sometimes a little hard when you start a new week but when you finish you feel so accomplished. I get the runners high which I love.

Mrspy I don't really believe in cheat days. If I want something that essentially might not be healthy I work it into my day. Like last week we went out for restaurant week. I had made sure I had a low cal smoothie for breakfast with a lot of protein, soup for lunch, and had a handful of almonds and a lot of water throughout the day that way I wasn't starving had low calorie intake that way I had a good amount of my daily calories to have at dinner. Which I usually don't do. We went to the melting pot and I didn't finish my dinner cause I could feel I was getting full and was looking forward to dessert to split with my fh which we also didn't finish cause we were both stuffed. But I got a very healthy entrée cause I am a vegetarian it was mainly vegetable in a vegetable broth to cook in. I just make sure I work it in. Some days I want something sweet and my go to is graham crackers with peanut butter co. chocolate dream pb on it. so good. But I only have it if I worked out enough to earn me the calories to eat it. This method works for me. Sometimes there is a social function that you know is going to kill your calorie intake for the day so I plan ahead I will eat extremely clean and light the whole week leading up to it having being under my calories all week to hopefully balance out the overage that one day. And back to clean eating the following. This works for me I manage not to gain weight the last 6 months doing this method and I have had functions to go to.

My problem is committing. I find so many excuses and ultimately get 2-3 days in and break it. Haven't lost anything because of this habit and I have all of these things coming up & am not happy with my weight. When will it just click?! Ugh.. So disappointed

I've done weight watchers in the past and it has always worked just as long as I stick to counting the points accurately. I actually pretty much cheat daily since WW makes yummy cakes and chocolates for low points. Also, I usually just have 6 points for breakfast and lunch so I can have a good dinner (my favorite meal) and I just fill up on fruits and vegetable during the day.

I find it easier to make sure I have my food for the week all ready to bring to work so I'm not scurrying around looking for something to bring for lunch last minute.

I 'cheat' on the day I weigh in on...I eat whatever I want to the point of being full. But to counteract it I 'throw out' my weekly extra points, so I'm limited to my daily points only for the rest of the week. It's better tho for me to cheat one day then try to give myself a little each week....I wouldn't likely be able to stop after only a little and end up over indulging lol

So I'm biting the bullet and going dress shopping on Friday for the first time. I haven't really lost much weight like I wanted to prior to trying on dresses, but hopefully it will give me motivation! I'm just really worried the 'right' gown will be passed over because I think I look too big in it or something! So irrational, i know but can't help it!!
