2014 Brides

ugh after this weekend I need a detox. I didn't go crazy but there was more than 3 beers this weekend and desserts which I usually don't eat. I gained 4lbs :( I need to get them off like asap and I am already off to an epic fail. I set my alarm to get up this morning and go for a run. what did I do? I shut off all three and went back to sleep lol.

I am trying to get back up on the horse too. I really allowed the holiday week to throw me off and only made it to the gym once. I didn't overdo it on the alcohol either--and somehow didn't pig out too badly at my chocolate truffles tasting. But I'm still up 2 lbs and need to get back at it. Happy Monday to all!

Its so hard with all these BBQs. Im good all week and then kill it with the weekends. At least I have been exercising more but I am really struggling dropping the lbs. I have 2 weeks until my vacation in Ocean City MD and I am trying to lose 2-4 lbs before then. I am really hoping I can stay on track. I don't want to rush the summer but I feel like if it was fall I could be so much more on track with less $hit goingon.

I have been eating soooo good but I can't lose weight. I know I need to start working out but I can't stand going to the gym. Cardio is torturous for me lately. I went to try on dresses the other day and I look/feel sooo top heavy when that's never been an issue of mine. It's so discouraging!

I was so hesitant to drink this weekend - it has literally been TWO MONTHS since I had a drink. Not only did I drink, but I ate basically whatever I wanted (while staying in the range of my given calories) and lost almost 2 pounds! After reading, it is apparently weight lost due to dehydration after drinking--but sh!t, I'll take it! I figured the weight would come back by today since I weighed myself on July 5th.
One more pound and I'll be down 20! Let's keep it up ladies!

I really never loved the gym, and I can't say I do now. The feeling after a good workout is irreplaceable, and I started losing way more rapidly once I started working out regularly. Try to make it a habit, even think about how you feel now while on that machine. When I get discouraged I just close my eyes and imagine myself walking down the aisle 70 lbs lighter (I know, so corny, but it helps)

That's actually a good way of thinking about it! I just need the motivation to get there lol

I totally agree! I'm back to eating well today, but tomorrow I'm going to the showcase at Westbury Manor and will have to control myself. I have my cruise to Alaska coming up on 9/7 and really wanted to be down at least 15 lbs by then. Because, as soon as we get back to NY, I'm going dress shopping!

@Roseann--you are killing it! Way to go!

go Ro! I wish I had that I don't drink anymore either but had 3 beers and I feel like I am the size of the good year blimp lol. I am back on track though with eating. I already decided this week is a detox week I am going home breaking out my juicer. I feel like my body can use it after the food and booze this weekend. Since I never eat that stuff anymore the tiniest bit sends my body into these ugh feelings lol. Back on track ladies we can do this despite all the bbq gotta keep the dress in mind.

Did I mention that I had to get naked in front of the airbrush tech who did my spray tan on Friday? If the feeling of utter embarrassment wasn't enough motivation, I don't know what is. Lol

Omg I dread the airbrush but it totally is motivation.

So granted only 3 days in but I am back on track been good with my diet which usually isn't my problem it's the working out part. But I have done c25k twice this week, yoga, and swimming so I've been doing pretty good hoping I can stick with it this time.

I'm down a pound! I'm PMSing, so I'm going to have to wait a little while for a more accurate number. I hate the number fluctuations, plus I feel like I'm converting to muscle more now so the number isn't really changing. I feel phenomenal though!

What kind of diet and/or exercise are you doing? I've been avoiding this convo like the plague cause I have been barley working out lol

I've been running at least 4 mornings a week, and I've only been eating clean. Diet was the most drastic change for me - when we got engaged, FH and I were ordering take-out 7 days a week. We would eat out for breakfast, lunch, and dinner on the weekends, and I felt disgusting. I know my number may not have seemed high, but it's really not just about weight. I didn't change my lifestyle to lose weight, I did it to feel good again.

Anytime I don't feel motivated to work out, I just remind myself that 15 minutes a day can make the difference. I don't have a requirement besides that, I need to be active for those 15 minutes. If I skip a day, I do 30 the next. I'm just trying to bring my body to it's healthiest point.

I've also stopped drinking coffee, Red Bull, and alcohol completely. The only things I drink are water or green tea.

As of today, I'm at 140 even, so the numbers haven't changed drastically in a while - however, my body feels completely different.

Re: 2014 Brides 'Official Weight Loss & Keep It Off' Thread

I'm down to 140 even. Ideally I don't want to dip any lower, but I do still want to tone out a lot before the wedding. My dress just came in last Friday, I can't wait to go try it on.

When I ordered it, I was a size 12 street, they ordered me a size 14.
Now, I'm a size 6 street. I'm terrified!

A little before & after action:

12/12: 163lb
04/13: 148lb
05/13: 143lb
06/13: 141lb
07/13: 140lb

Re: 2014 Brides 'Official Weight Loss & Keep It Off' Thread

I finally got back out running after almost 2 weeks. I had still been exercising but not running. Felt so good to be back out there. I was up 4 lbs in 2 weeks, which makes no sense because I was exercising regularly, and so depressed and couldnt understand why. I recently changed my BCP and I think *HOPE* it was from that so I just went back to my old one & I am hoping I drop these lbs before July 20th because we are going to Ocean City MD with my FHs family & i know I am going to be super self conscious

Oh same thing - I literally weigh myself every morning when I wake up. I still see the numbers every day, I can weigh myself tomorrow and it'll say 141.8. I've become familiar with my fluctuations, so I guess that's a perk of focusing on the numbers. I can just tell the difference of how I feel now versus how I felt then, plus how I look in a bikini now, versus not going to the beach once last summer.

I also distribute weight well, it goes to every inch of my body, and the same thing happens when I lose weight. It's really come off every part evenly, my face, chest, arms, stomach, and legs. I'm really nervous to put my dress on!

Me too. I'm hands down one of the most self-conscious people in the world. When I gain weight I usually gain it in my stomach and legs but now I've been seeing it more in my face which is terrible. I hate taking pictures because of it.
