So we met with the DJs last night. Overall it was fine. The owner was a bit rude at first, but I think he was on the defensive because I handed him a 5 page play list.
FH yelled at me for being overally anal and trying to control everything too much. I agreed to send the DJ a scaled down list later today.
They at least recognized and knew the music on the list which made me feel better. And there were some other things that I wanted that they mentioned before I asked about it, so that was good.
I'm sure it will all be fine. I'm just a little particular.

5 page play list - wow amy that is alot -
our playlist was half a page - included stuff like no rap and very little disco - and just a few songs we had to have played i cant imagine taking the time to compile a 5 page list

Re: A thread just for PlusSize Brides
I know I know! Too much time on my hands. We've been engaged for 1 year and 8 months. I've had time to keep adding to the list. Plus FH and I have a million songs on our computer so it was easy to listen to stuff and say 'Oh yeah, love that song, let's play it at the wedding!'
I've got it down to less than 3 pages now -- which includes the cake cutting, and mother/groom songs.

Re: A thread just for PlusSize Brides
My DJ meeting went well. I handed the MC a page and a half of music. We're having the screen come down and video will be taken of our guests and shown on the screen. He liked the fact that we didn't want any Michael Bolton songs (FH hates him) He said he probably wouldn't play that anyway. I just wanted to make sure. Other than that we're on our way!!!

Can anyone recommend some arm exercises!?!?! Or does that skin that keeps waving after I am done waving never go away no matter what?
My legs are my problem area but since they will be hidden by my poofy dress....
Thanks ladies!

Hi girls...I was told that if you do tricep excercised with 3-5lb weights at first you can tone up those muscles. You kind of put your arm at a 90 degree angle with the weight and extend the arm out. I got rid of a lil 'wiggle' when I used to do it. I have been so busy I don't even bother. I have a sleeved gown so no one will see it

Re: A thread just for PlusSize Brides
I have hand weights that I slip my fingers through (instead of small dumbells) and I do arm exercies while I walk on the treadmill. It definetly helps tone a bit and makes the wiggle less pronounced.

Christine -- you are so close! You must be so excited! What else are you working on last minute?
I ended up getting a dark red poncho that I'm going to wear over a black tank top and pants for the rehearsal dinner. I think that will be pretty, but comfy!

Re: A thread just for PlusSize Brides
im a plus size bride also. it is a little bit harder to find a dress. my biggest problem is that i have very wide hips and some of the dresses dont sit right on me for that reason. i also have a large chest and a big behind which doesnt make it easy for me. does anyone have any suggestions for me to make dress seraching alittle bit easier for me?????anything would help. i have found a few at davids bridal and i think that i might try to get it all adjusted to my body. if not i guess i am going to have to go somewhere else to find a dress.

Hi Kim and welcome!!! I went to The Wedding Center and they had 'larger' sizes to try on which made it easier on me. I hate when they only have a size 10 because they think everyone is that size. Keep us up to date on the progress...good luck

Welcome Kim! Christine is right, Wedding Center in Commack is a great place to look. Also Bridal Suite and Beautiful Bride had a good selection of samples in PLUS sizes. Keep us posted! We're here to help and share!

I went to tanger Saturday and got great wedding wrapping paper for wrapping the bridal party and family gifts. It white on white stripe and I'm going to group the pieces for each person with burgundy rafia ribbon.
I also got heal and ball gel pads for my wedding shoes. They were cheap and I'm hoping make my wedding shoes more comfy.
FH had his bachelor party this weekend, yesterday was golfing and drinking. Then Sunday he was off to the Jets game. He's a bit worse for wear today but he had a great time and that's what counts!
This week will be exciting -- tuesday is another dress fitting and Thursday is our design session with jack & rose. My BM dress is finally in also, so I'll get to see her in that!
We're on hold with programs and seating because we are waiting for RSVPs still and we are waiting to hear if FH's cousin will make the wedding and can do our second reading.

OH Duh! The reason I posted was to tell you that I got a nice top from Sears for the Rehearsal Dinner and I wanted to thank you for the advice of where to go. I looked everywhere and finally found one. I can't wait to wear it. Thanks again
