After all my whining, I finally booked my wedding!!

Well, we went tonight and I brought my parents and FH brought his mom and although it was slightly chaotic since the two mothers who said they weren't going to say a word were talking the entire time, I booked my wedding!! Thanks to all the research I did and all the info I got from you wonderful women, everyone was very impressed with how thorough I was and the banquet manager was very patient with me and my two pages of single-spaced notes that I went through.

FH and I will be getting married on October 10, 2004 at the Woodbury Country Club. Now poor FH can catch a break since I won't be hounding him to just book a f*cking place already. The rest of it, well, I'll give him a week's peace before I start bugging him about it.

Thanks for all of you who put up with my incessant whining about this. I promise I'll try not to be such a brat about everything else.

Ooooh, you'll definitely have to tell me all about it! For all the bad things that I have heard about their pushy sales practices (even though they never hounded me), I have never heard a bad thing about the service or food there. I still don't understand why more brides don't book there, but I guess it's a matter of taste. Besides, I like having my wedding at a place that people haven't been to yet.

i have no doubts about their services - one of the owners is in our wedding party and the manager is a guest (a brother of the owner)!! Besides, I have only heard good things and the food is great - we went there a few months ago when they had a showcase! Loved it!

Did you have a tasting? I asked about it and he said to just call up and tell them what weekend I want to come in and if they're having an affair, we can come in and they'll give us a bunch of stuff to try, but he did say, 'Don't come 6 weeks before the wedding and expect a tasting.' I can see the view that they don't want to waste food and only cook stuff up for us, but I feel kind of weird calling and saying, 'Hey, I'm gonna crash the wedding this weekend. Put out some food for me, will ya?' But like I said...I haven't heard a single bad thing about the food, so I'm not too worried.

ETS: Duh...you said you tasted the food at the showcase.

i don't know how often they have the showcases, but ask when the next one is. (you could always crash mine on oct 11th and taste all you want)!

Congratulations. It's a beautiful place and I have never heard a bad thing about it.
Which room did you book at the Woodbury - the upstairs or the downstairs? What time is your reception?
