AFTER WEDDING DEPRESSION???

OK I have heard some brides get REALLY depressed when the Wedding is over, the planning is done, etc... I personally can not wait!!!

Don't get me wrong, I loved this entire process, stress or no stress it was exciting and I know it will all be worth it when I see it all come together, but I am just so done with the 'Bride Brain'

How many of you think you are going to be down in the dumps?

Going back to work was depressing!! I had a short engagement so I never got tired of all the planning I loved it. It consumed my life for 3 months then it was over.
I will host group therapy if anyone wants any after wedding counseling.

I'll miss it, I hope I don't cry....I haven't really had any bad things happen during the planning so far, it's been fun for me. I won't miss the money part though....they say that the brides who go through this should try to plan a lunch with their girlfriends or something after the wedding..so that it doesn't go from planning away to nothing..

Same here.. I mean I will have soo much free time I just wouldnt know what to do with myself..

Definitely won't be sad to see planning go. I've been planning this wedding for almost 2.5 years. I've grown to hate planning! All I want is to be married to fh so I can't wait to be done.

to be honest, i get a little sad after any big event ( prom, other weddings, vacations) so i am definitely susceptible!

my wedding is already over and I was worried about the same thing and I have to tell you that I am THRILLED it is over.
By the time my wedding was almost near, I was so disgusted with the whole thing that I wanted to run away and elope just a week before. I was sick of trying on that stupid dress, never wanted to see another flower again, taste another cake, or practice dancing one more time.
I AM THRILLED IT IS OVER.
I loved my wedding, and wouldn't change a thing, but I can't tell you how wonderful it feels to go buy a magazine that is not a bridal one, read a book, or have a weekend with nothing pressing to do. I love being married and I loved my wedding....now its time to move on to other things......
its a relief paired with wonderful memories!

I think I might miss the constant planning- I LOVE planning and coming up with ideas. But once I get back from the wedding, life goes back into full swing with school starting up again a few weeks later. It'll be my second year so I'm still not settled yet! And I'm hoping my next project is looking for a house!

I do end up in the dumps if I don't have something huge to occupy my time. If I'm not taking classes, or rehearsing/performing for a show, I really get bored!! I always have to have something on the brain!

I can't friggin wait til the big day though. I get so mushy thinking about it! I just can't believe we're gonna be MARRIED!!! I love the sound of it!!

But, I have to admit, I have heard of PWD and I actually lost a friend to it... NOT KIDDING! I had a girlfriend of mine who got married last year and after she got married she went off the deep end. She was miserable ALL the time and bitter towards anyone who still had their day ahead of them. She basically wrote me and all of my other friends who happen to be engaged off and she can't even really show pics from the wedding or talk about it without getting REALLY upset that it is over... It's really bad and I'm sure there are a ton of other problems underneath that surface but the wedding coming and going set it off

I really hope Im not, but I can see how it happens. Its such an exciting time and for alot of us who are planning for a while, you put so much time and energy into planning...so much build up. And then it just stops. BUT then you have wonderful married life to look forward to and your DH to enjoy and everything else. Guess its just really impt to keep looking to the future and appreciate all the blessings in life and not to get too down just bc youre done w/ putting so much energy into a wedding.

I think you really only feel depressed if you make the planning and wedding your 'Whole Life'. Dont get me wrong the planning feels like it consumes your everyday vocabulary, but you have to draw the line at somepoint b/c the stress will make you freak out more than you need to.

After the wedding, all I can think of is our Honeymoon, and our life and any goals we've made together and seperately.

I think I'll miss all the planning and anticipation but I cant wait to finally spend money on us again rather then on 'the wedding'. Everything right now is for the wedding. FH and I joke all the time about how after the wedding were gonna have so much money every month and were not gonna know what to do with it once the wedding is paid off.

I would do my wedding day over and over again. Being the Bride was a feeling like no other. HOWEVER, as for the planning, doing that all over again, no thanks!
