After you got engaged...

Did anyone buy their fh an engagement gift? After we got engaged I bought my fh a Raymond Weil watch and we are going on a trip to DR in June...did anyone else buy their fh's a gift? What did you get him??

There is a Greek cultural tradition of the bride's family giving jewelry to the groom and the groom's family giving jewelry to the bride at the engagement party. So, my parents gave my FH a gold link bracelet and a nice watch, and my brother gave him a gold link chain (for the neck).

we took a vacation together to cancun about 2 mos. after the engagement as a gift to each other.

nope. we were (and are) too poor to do that. And we jumped right into planning, so we really didn't have time to savor the engagement, sadly.

I bought him a New York Giants Super Bowl Champions sweatshirt to commemorate our engagement!!!!!!!! We have matching ones and we look so dorky because we both wear them at the same time, since we love them so much.

I took him on a trip to Vegas and we went to the UFC 79 fight with Chuck Lidell and Wanderlai (sp?) Silva. He was so excited!!!

I never bought FH a gift. For a while FH was out of work and i pretty much supported him. So in my opinion, there was no need for one. I never heard of getting the FH a gift until I came on here.

i didn't buy DH any sort of an engagement present.

i will probably buy him a really nice bbq or something special that he'll get a lot of use out of once we buy a house

he's not a jewelery guy, he struggles with wearing his ring every day
