unless you are giving them directions to Tiffany's for your gift, direction cards are necessary, not tacky

No, but it's tacky to put registry cards in invitations but that doesn't stop some people!

i put in 3 directions cards---1 for WM, 1 for the hotel and one i made up myself with directions to the church from the west, east, south and the hotel. i also added directions back toward the hotel and WM because you can't retrace your route. i included everything because how else would you know how to get there???

i think the girl who sent out her invites without directions is going to have a lot of lost guests

I understand about not putting registry cards in the invites but directions? People need to know where to go, I don't think it's tacky at all. I received directional cards from my venue, and I printed up directions to the Church.

it's not tacky. that's how every wedding invite I have ever received was. and, any party for that matter.

people need the directions! some of the old folks don't know about mapquest!

No not tacky... i recently got an invitation w/o any directions in it!... but to go to their website... which is great too, but what about people who dont use the internet or are not very savy at it? i know we will have plenty of people who dont use computers much at all...i would have appreciated a little more on directions and such.
