Anybody sad about giving up their last name?

I think it will take some getting used to, but I am really looking forward to taking his name.

Its only 3 letters, but no one can spell it or pronounce it should be interesting!

I will definately go through name withdrawal, i try no to think about it.

When you do the name change...it's easy...my mom did it and I think I will also....

remember on Friends when Pheobe changed her name? Princess Bananahamock? I think you can change it to anything you damn well please!

Pardon me, it was Princess Consuela Banana Hammock...

I was just thinking about this today and had a conversation with FH about it last night. He gets visibly upset when i talk about keeping my last name, even though i am HALF joking! hehe...my name is always mispronounced, but it's so much easier than FH's. Spelling the 6 letters i have now is much easier than the 13 i'm going to take. I can't even get the signature right. the letters just don't flow as nicely! lol...

it will DEFINITELY take some getting used to. FH told me to talk to his mom and the other 5 aunts that had to change to his last name! LOL....

I have several girls that i work with and my aunt that changed their name by taking away their middle name and put ting their maiden and then new last name.

that way you can actually use either name. they are keeping their maiden name to use for work and their new last name for everything else. it's idea, but i like my middle name too! I don't know what to do!?

I'm keeping mine and adding FH's w/ out hypenation. I'm using both legally but FH's socially.

At first he was a little funny about it but then my hip dad sat him down and had a convo about how it makes you no less married and it's not what makes a marriage etc. and he loosened up. Now he calls me Mrs. Rxxxxxx Sxxxxx, guess he's trying to get used to it.

can't you keep both you last name and middle and just add fh? I thought it was possible

This is an interesting area of conversation for 2 reasons...one my mom brought it up the other day and seemed a little sad that I'd be giving up the family name...I SOOOO can't hyphenate it ...and then today I got a postcard from a vendor in which my first name was paired with FH's last name....I guess I shouldn't be weirded out as it will soon be that way

I got the same thing in the mail today too!!! It was postcard from a vendor it was addressed to my new name. It was weird to see it... I actually saved it to put in my scrap book since its the first thing ever adressed to me with meymarried name. Im a dork...

cool! I have a huge emotional connection to my name and can't imagine changing it. And I want my middle name too so just throw FH's name at the end of the train
