Fh and I are paying for most of the wedding ourselves. we went through and made a list of everything we had to pay for. i am so scared. i dont know where we are going to get this moiney from. Im not having the best of everything. Anyone else in the same boat as me? any suggestions besides robbing a bank? im thinking that might not work so well.

HAHA, where do you live??? no seriously...FM me your address...
You know what..I started freaking out in the beginning and am working like 10 jobs for extra money but I think if everyone I know could do it (and have a menial job like me and FH) then hell I could do it too. I don't see getting a house right away (I don't even want to clean my two bedroom apt) and at the end of the day we are hopefully only doing this once...or maybe not...
My mom always says 'you can't take it with you when you go'...so mind as well spend it.
As a social worker I get a little concerned girls that you are stressing yourselves sick...take a deep breath and say 'I am worth it'!!!

we are not paying for the wedding ourselves. my parents have been very generous. however, i am trying my hardest not to spend all of the money they offered us, while trying to make it go as far as possible. we may not have 'the best' that money can buy, but we've definately gotten the best vendors that OUR money can buy.
we're stressed of course, we are paying for a lot of things on our own, and i feel guilty about spending my parent's money... i'm just trying to keep the day simple and elegant and remember that the marriage is what's important, and that the guests won't care what kind of favor, or what kind of sushi i have. i've had house parties that were BYOB that people are STILL talking about in a good way, the people invited love us and will have a blast no matter what.
i'm trying not to get too wrapped up in what everyone else is having/doing.

FH and I are paying for our own wedding and its not easy for us. Anything I get I put it into a high yield savings account so it collects interest. The online ones start off around 5%, we're currently using HSBC and we heard great things about ING. I hope this helps!

My FH and I are paying for the wedding ourselves and buying a house at the same time. To say the least we get stressed about $$$. But we started to take this approach...no matter if we have a crazy open bar, chocolate fountain, cigar roller, etc. we are still getting married with our family and friends there to share it. Keeping priorities in order is REALLY important.

I am worried all day everyday--I know we have the money, but I am an accountant (so I always worry) and with too many other things coming up that need money that are not wedding related---I am ready to ask people if they want fries with that FH yells all the time that we are fine and I am not allowed to take a second job--he would rather work 8 before I work too---but I was always raised that money is equal and I need to make my own. I hate all the little extras that I keep wanting to add to the wedding and I want to cry--I just want a perfect wedding

Big time we are VERY behind on saving for the wedding. FH is working MUCHO overtime and I have to get another job. I am applying to places next week ( i need a week to settle in to our new apartment otherwise it might be too much for me).
We cut out a honeymoon now since we can't afford it. So we will do something in the summer or next winter.

My parents are helping us out, but for the most part we are paying for a lot. It is scary going to the venders and getting prices from them and feeling my stomach drop! FH and I are also looking for a house too.... It is scary b/c we do not want to start off our marriage in the hole!

My dad is paying for 1/2 the wedding. Which is SOO NICE. but that means FH and I are paying for the OTHER 1/2 plus HM and Rehersal Dinner.
It's scary to think about all this money at once. FH and I just try to break it down like....ok this money is going to the photographer.
We didnt set an overall budget but we made sure we got the smallest packages available with every vendor. lol.
weddings are soo !!!!!!!
I hate to sound like a bad person but we better make some money off this wedding!!!!

i am worried but i keep trying to convince myself that we can do it
i refuse to put anything on a credit card - FH and I have great credit and no credit card debt at all and i dont ever want to have credit card debt - my motto is if you cant afford it now - you cant afford it at all.....so there is nooooooo way i am putting ANYTHING on a credit card that is wedding related.
FH is working overtime and started working a lot of weekend weddings for extra money. that totally helps. he also does christmas lights with his friend as a 3rd job for extra money from mid november into december. they make serious cash doing the really big houses in the expensive neighborhoods - so hopefully this year he can make a few thousand cash doing that....
i have been saving AS MUCH as i possibly can. we are paying for EVERYTHING ourselves, except for the rehearsal dinner - FMIL told us that she and FFIL would like to take over the rehearsal dinner for us which was really generous of them. even though we are both paying for the wedding FH makes substanially way more $$ than I do plus his side jobs so he is paying for the majority of the wedding. my biggest worry is buying him the watch that he wants and adores as a wedding present. its like 8K and i dont know how i am going to afford the watch AND help him pay off vendors without completely depleting my savings account. i really really want to get him that watch though - he LOVES it and its not nearly as much as my e-ring was and wedding band will be and with all his hard work for the wedding he totally deserves it.....so that is majorly stressing me out! but where there is a will there is a way......
