Anyone NOT doing the Garter?

Just wondering about this, I don't think I really like that tradition, anyone else opted out of that, I think it's a little uncomfortable for the girl who catches the bouquet and the guy who catches the garter to do that whole thing. You know what I mean?

FH would never do that--especially not in front of my father & brother! LOL

So they assume you too will be getting seperate beds if not seperate rooms on the honeymoon?

Nope. Not doing either myself. Definitely will be wearing garter but that's for groom's eyes only!

We're not doing the garter toss either.

The only traditional thing we're doing is our first dance and a speech by fh's best man.

I'm still 'on the fence' about introducing the bridal party.....

We DEFINATELY are. We're all about fun, and to me that's more of a fun time to clown around then do it for serious traditon stuff.

Guess we are the odd ones out.. I always thought it was a cute thing to do and I know FH DEFINITLY wants to do it.. we have alot of single 20 somethings at our wedding as well so it make it more fun.
We will probably do the anniversary dance as well but earlier in the night

We aren't doing it. No garter, no bo-k toss. We feel like most of our family / friends will be married or engaged by the time our wedding rolls around, so I don't think anyone would even make the effort to get up to catch it!

I do think it's fun when it's done at other weddings though!

I am debating... i really don't want to but i do because it is a tradition but i like the couple married the longest and still on the dance floor is a niice substitution

i havent decided

Defitnely NOT throwign the garter. Not palnning on wearign one, but I have a feeling soemoen might get me one, so I guess then I'd where it, especially if its blue.
I'm not planning on the bouquet toss, unless I get an overwhelmign resposen from peopel bewteen now & then that want to catch it.
But I Find the whoel theing awkard when I'ma t other peopel's weddings.

The anniversary dance is cute, but I don't feel the need to give a way my bouquet--I might preserve it.

And getting a toss one, jsut to do that dance seems a little backawrds, sicen I'm iffy about the dance or toss in the first place.

I've never heard of peopel skipping the cake cutting. Even at non-traditional weddings.
Its very cool that soem of you bucked tradion. We'll do that part, but no shmooshing.
NOt sure yet abotu beignannounced, announceing the bp, bp dance, and parent dances. We'll do a first dance, but dont'wna tto go it alone, so may jsut invite teh whoel group to coem on up.
Hopefully peopel will.

By the way, I'm impressed, that garters sparked a 3 page thread!
