Just got a call from my hall and they said they are switching over to oval tables. I thought they were coming in after my wedding but they are here now... Im sooo pissed because my florist said you can't put square CPs on an oval table and I want square CPs!!! . Does anyone have pics of oval tables??? TIA

I had oval tables (see CLM brides pics, esp. SweetCin704) and square centerpieces (was a mirror with square vase with roses with glass rocks in our wedding colors on the mirror). It looked great...don't think I have a good pic (getting proofs tomorrow sooo maybe then?).

I have heard that 'you can't put a round peg in a square hole' , but I must have missed the 'You can't put a square CP on an oval table' class. I don't like when people say that you CAN'T do something. It is your wedding and your money do what you want.

I think the florist is saying that you can't put a square CP in the middle because the table is long and that the CP may not be as noticable on the table. Why not see if you can get 2 smaller square centerpieces for the table and depending on your budget you could also put rose petals or votive candles with the 2 smaller square centerpieces. I think that will look good but Remember it is your day so you do whatever you want.

When I had my last meeting at LM in July I heard they were getting Oval tables and I made them write round tables on my final forms. Did you see if Lisa would do that?
No, she kinda made it seem like we didn't have a choice. Now that I am looking at the pics on their website of round tables set up with the new china, it kinda looks crowded. Maybe the oval is a better choice after all.. Im still not sure. Ill take pics on Saturday!

I can't find any pictures that aren't crowded with beer bottles or food plates but my CP's were six inch squares, then I had three votives lined u[ on either side of the length of the oval with rose petals.

mine is but we are getting low CP we want roses, hydrangea, and orchids.... this isnt an exact pic but the same shape

I was biased to the round tables-but I have oval tables and am going to have one large CP in the middle and 2 smaller at the ends...
ETA: and you can put square CP on a round table-she probably says this b/c at a round table the flowers face 360 degrees, where as an oval it will cut off at the angles...does that make sense?

i think square cp with oval will look great breaks it up a bit stick with your plan

You're so welcome! I'm glad you liked them! I actually didn't notice my CP's the day of (too busy having fun) but it's great to see pictures...and yes, the 3 CP's plus votives and rose petals REALLY made a difference! Now you can show your florist that it CAN be done!

hmmm, now I'm worried, I have tall, round shaped centerpieces that won't look great on oval tables...can you post your pics?
