The longer you wait, the harder it gets.

However, that being said, you can still have children in your 30s and 40s - it is just with more difficulty.

woah..im freaking out that im almost 22 and dont have children..me and FH decided to start trying that night..we have lived together for 2 years and really have nothing to look forward to after the wedding so were having children right away

The latest late 30's. Honestly, I think early 30's should be the latest. However, everyones body is different...my coworker is 36 and shes now pregnant with her 1st child..and shes already talking about having a second one.

35 is late because u might not get pregnant right away.

I say above 35 is high risk (they require you to do amnio) and around 38 is when it really begins to be higher risk--but I have known people older that had no problems.

I am 33 so I wont have my first until I am 34/35? and then my second a couple of years after that? I hope all goes well!!!!!

I would agree that after 40 it is a bit late, but people have done it, with no problems. Ideally I personally would not want to have any after 35, but you never know how life will pan out.

sure! the 'right' time is different for everyone!
i think you need to base it on your own personal preference, your financial situation, your living arrangement, you stability in your marriage- yourself- and your job, as well as your big picture for how many children you'd like to have.

I'm getting married at 30 & would be quite happy starting TTC at 32! I am also well aware that I was in no way ready for motherhood in my 20's and am so glad I have waited.

PS- although it is recommended that women over 35 get an amnio- you do not have to have one, its your choice. if you know you will keep your baby despite the results, why get the test?

My grandmother had my mom (her first child) at 40 and my uncle three years later...they both turned out healthy, and she was a smoker too. That was in the 1950's and medicine is a lot better these days. This is not to say that I'm advocating smoking or waiting until your forties, I'm just saying, you can still have kids into your forties. I personally wouldn't wait that long though, I think mid-thirties is ok.
