FH asked my mom and oldest brother (since my father passed )

he kept it a secret from EVERYONE else in my family and his, minus his parents and brother - b/c i find out EVERYTHING and he was afraid I wouldnt be surprised ...

yes, he asked my dad only.
He said that when he asked my dad , my father he cried awwwwwwwwwwwwww.

And when FH told me this he was teary eyed...

omg he would kill me if he knew i said he cried.

No, he didn't. We had been talking about a getting married for a while so they knew it was coming.

My Dad is not mushy or anything and probably would have said something like 'yeah- go ahead- ask her, she is your headache now, what the he!! are you asking me for' OR 'are you SURE you want to marry her'...LOL

He gave FH his condolences when we announced our engagement...LOL He is soo funny my dad (or at least he thinks he is)

yes he asked both my parents. he was upset that he couldn't ask my dad in person because my parents live in florida - so he asked over the phone. he really wanted to see my Dad's face when he asked :(

after he proposed my mom told me that he was SOOOOOO NERVOUS when he called and that he asked them so properly LOL LOL LOL

Yes he went to my dad's store while i was away on business! My dad was thrilled and was really good at keeping it from me

But the thing is he suprised me by coming home on leave the day before my 21st bday.

His dad picked him up from the airport and took literally an hour and 1/2 to get home because he was talking to FH in the car about proposing and the commitment of marriage yadda yadda. So by the time Fh got to my house to suprise me it was midnight. I was soo excited to see him and all he did was like 'Hey hun' kissed me and said 'where's your dad?'

I was like W T F??? haha But he said he had to tell my dad something about my dad that he needed help with. It was midnight...and I believed him. So I went into my parents bedroom and asked if FH could come in..my dad said yes because my mom kinda hinted to my Dad that he was coming home to propose. So my dad in his PJ's as well as my mom and FH chatting in their bedroom...talk about how embarassed FH was haha

Oh...he was proposing the next day at dinner on my 21st bday. And my dad works in the city and leaves at 7am so FH had no time before he proposed to ask my dad....

He did ask my Dad.

Apparently they hugged about a minute before I walked in the room. My Dad told me about it when I called that night to tell them, he thought if I caught them I would know what was up. I told him, 'No, I would have thought you guys were just weird.'

that is so funny

ok so i got engaged christmas eve 2005 - FH decided to do it less than 10 days before. So, he kept trying to come to my house B U T it was the transit strike so my job kept letting me out super early, i almost caught him going into my house a few times! He finally got to do it THE DAY BEFORE! lol

he snuck in the back of the house and asked my parents. . . they both cried and were so excited ( AND SURPRISED!)

funny story: after i said yes i said 'did you ask my dad, bc if you didnt i have to take that back' LOL

also, my BFF got engaged the NIGHT BEFORE - so when we went there on Christmas Eve morning to congratulate her. my mom LOST HER FRICKEN MIND i mean she grabbed my BFF's mom and like dragged her into the kitchen and they were both sobbing and i was like OMG I AM SO EMBARRASSED she is totally overreacting to my BFFs engagement. . . well they were crying bc it was so beautiful that we had been best friends since grade school and we were going to be engaged at the same time!

also, when we were leaving my house to go to his for Christmas Eve my mom VERY DRAMATICALLY goes to FH 'DON'T WORRY ANTHONY YOUR TIME WILL COME TOO' and FH said she even WINKED but i was oblivious!!
