yup! and my mom and dad cried!!
he asked for my hand in marriage and before my dad answered he promised to always take care of me and that he would buy me a house which is silly bc my parent aren't like that
if he hadn't asked - i wouldnt have said yes! i asked him if he asked before i gave him an answer! lol

My dad passed away 5 years ago but FH and I have been dating for almost 8 so my dad knew him well for a couple of years and loved him. FH told me that a couple of weeks ago on my dads birthday he went to the cemetery and asked my dad if he had his permission to marry me
that is a beautiful sorry - i am so sorry for your loss but your FH is a WONDERFUL man!

yes...well he went to my dad and said he wanted to propose to me for christmas and wanted to make sure it was ok. lol he didnt exactly say 'can i marry your daughter' lol Then my dad did the 'dad thing' lol what if this and what if that and blah blah blah lol but they love him!
hah. Similar situation, my dad loves FH so 'giving permission' wasn't an issue. But I guess after FH told my dad he was going to propose, my dad started asking him about his finances and if he had an sort of long-term savings portfolio. ugh, I love my dad but he can be such a PITA about things...had to take such a nice moment and turn it into talking about mutual funds and crap.

Yep! While I was teaching violin lessons, he went to my parents house. My parents just got home from work. FH brought them a bottle of wine and asked!

NOPE we didn't even tell my parents until a whole month after since fh got mad that hte ring didn't fit so he wanted to wait till we got it back.

December of last year my Mom came to visit us and FH told her on secret that he was starting to save and told her that we would be engaged by December 2008. Then 6 months later in June FH had already saved enough money and found the ring so he called my Mom and Dad and officially asked my Dad over the phone. (My parents live in Florida). FH told them the plan on how he was going to do it so they knew a few days before it was going to happen.....Then the day after my Mom, Sis, and Grandma flew up from Florida which was nice :)

FH did ask dad....and my sis...and my brother. My bro and sis knew for a while and hid it very well. My bro was excited b/c he's the only boy and is excited to have FH as a 'big brother'.
My sis grilled him like the FBI. So he was prepared when he went to dad. He was visiting at my parents house and we were supposed to be getting ready to go out. I noticed he was taking a year and a day to pick out his clothes downstairs and started screaming at him..lol...little did I know he was pleading his case to dad at that time. My dad looked at him once I started to flip out and said 'Are you sure you want to deal w/ that forever? Dani is a sassy one'...haha...But dad was happy and FH said he kept shaking his hand repeatedly saying finally. (FH and I had lived in sin for about 5 years in VA before I moved back to NY)

He sort of asked my dad (it was a quick discussion)lol... My brother was in an accident with his jeep a few months ago. FH looked at the damage and said it was an easy fix, so my brother bought himself a new car and my dad said he'd take the Jeep after its repaired. FH and I went to my parents to pick up the Jeep to bring it back to our apartment complex (to leave it in the parking lot)... So my mom and I are walking back into the house with my brother and FH was standing at the door holding it open for everyone, so I go to walk in the house and he pushes me in and slams the door behind leaving himself outside with my dad..i was like ummm thanks a*shole! hah
He came back in the house like 30 secs later and i was like w t f was that about?! hes like i wanted to just go over the work with your father again, to make sure I know what he wants me to do with this car. I was like yea ok whatever (I had no idea, nor did I care at that point)
Turns out he was talking to my dad about marriage and asked him his permission lol

My FH didnt tell his parents either, every one was shocked when he did proposed to me, luckily we all celebrated back at my house with my whole family being there so that was good. Everyones look on their face was
