What are the best and worst favors you've gotten at a wedding/shower/e-party, etc.
The best I think is the heart shaped half cup scoop at my cousin's shower. i'm biased though. I picked it out.
The worst was a CD of the coupkle's wedding. EVERYONE went NUTS over it. But I don't have the same tastes and I've never listened to it. If it werent my sister and BIL, I'd have thrown it out.

I Love CD's!!! Wow, I am shocked you don't like them.
My favorite is the donation. That touches me every single time.
Worst....probably something I never use! Nothing specific I can think of though

Re: Best and Worst Favor ideas
I haven't really received the best favor yet, but recently I got a small glass ice bucket with tongs which I thought wasn't so bad and very practical.
The worst favor I get was two hershey kisses.
The CD favor isn't so bad - I can understand you don't like it because you don't like the music.

hmmm, might be dangerous to post thoughts like these, as people who are doing, or have done some of the least favorite favors might get hurt in the process.....JMO

Anytime you ask for opinions, someone's feelings might get hurt. I mean, as long as no one's hateful. I don't thik there's anything wrong with saying 'I like this' or 'I don't like this'. It's just like when everyone posts their favors. You have a good point though.

only because a post above said 'i hate...' that person wasn't meaning to offend someone, but it could easily happen. I find it's easier (and safer) to stick to positives

Re: Best and Worst Favor ideas
true. The reason I'm asking is because I don't want to give a facor that most people will dislike, and I think it'll help others too. it would really hurt me to think that everyone just throws my favor in the trash.

One that I liked the best was a little coffee scooper, since I could live on coffee.
One that I didnt care for as much (it wasnt BAD by any means, just not to my taste) was a plaster picture frame in the shape of Cinderellas pumkin coach.

Re: Best and Worst Favor ideas
I would not say this was the worst, but I never use it, A Peppermill. It's a nice idea for someone who'd use it, but it's still in the box, in the wrapping paper (FMIL opened hers so I knew what it was). A close second was a packet of seeds. Again, nice idea for a gardner type (I'm not). It was seed packets bought at WalMart, with a ribbon (like you put on a present) and a little printed note with a poem.
Best, they were centerpeices/favors. It was a bowl with scalloped edges (I think it's called a tulip jar) with a candle jar inside(a little bigger than a votivee) then around the candle (inside the jar) was filled with cracked ice (it's a craft item-ask me if you need more info) that also had confetti! I loved them! There were so many left over that I took 6!!!! Actually the bride (I was a BM) made me take them b/c she had SO many left (like 12!)

Re: Best and Worst Favor ideas
Ok, I'll clarify. I don't mean best and worst as in 'the best favor ever' and the 'worst favor ever', I mean the best and worst in terms of your individual taste and preference. like I siad with the Cde most people LOVED it, I personally have no use for it.

Re: Best and Worst Favor ideas
First , no-one should take this personal because so far some of my ideas are on the HATE side and some that I HATE are other peoples ideas...so grow up and understand you cant make 1000 people happy so that said, this might help people or give a good laugh to some...
Worst I think is serving dishes, like mikasa bowls because I never use them , I already have a lot of them or ice cream scoops...which we use, but we have like 4 of them and dont need four, it usually something people already have so why need another....THAT said I like CD favors and some people hate them, I think its cute to get an idea of their tastes and to remember the day....We got coasters once that we use all the time, I liked those and the donations to me are the BEST...

Best favor was monogramed cake..yummy. Chocolate..even better..cause I love sweets. At our wedding every piece of rum cake disappeared and so did the goumet chocolate.
Worst: ice cream scoop, jordon almonds..these were stale. Somce candle favors can be in this catagory too.

Re: Best and Worst Favor ideas
I don't know the proper term for it, but I got a bottle stopper at Dh's cousin's wedding. I'm sure it would have been useful, but I did not like the design of it, so I never used it. I don't even know where it is now.
Umm, my cousin gave out one demi cup and one saucer to each person. They were wrapped in lace, and VERY expensive, but what the heck am I going to do with just ONE?
I think that when it comes to favors, I am a tough audience...

Re: Best and Worst Favor ideas
I don't know, call me easy to please, but I just like getting favors in general, even if I'll never use them. I think I just like presents
