We went tonight to our cake appointment with cakes by Jay and LOOOVED him. We were with him for over an hour talking about what we want and just talking about stuff in general. He is such a nice person, funny and great to get along with. I brought in a bunch of pics of what i like and me, fh and jay came up wih a design for each tier.
Anybody looking for a cake vendor, i definitely recommend jay, his work is GORGEOUS and he is so great. If you want to see his work he will be on the food network march 2nd. I know he won one of the cake competitions they do and he told us he just found out when its airing.
We decided on a mad hatter type cake...bc we have alot of guests its going to be 6 tiers. We also did a cake tasting which was great, the cakes were so delicious. We decided on 2 flavors: sour dough cake(which at first when i heard didnt think i would like it) w/raspberry and chocolate truffles...2nd is yellow pound cake with baileys cream filling.
I love the design we came up with and the ideas he came up with.

I just went to him last week for the grooms cake and he is awesome. He did exactly what I wanted and we were there for so long just talking. He is so easy to talk to and he is so funny. We had a great time with him. I went with my mom because it is a surprise for FH. I had such a good time I am thinking of having him do our wedding cake. I am pretty sure he does the cakes for Chateau Briand so if I upgrade I talk to him. He is awesome.

i know exactly, we were just hanging around talking and he is so funny. Even fh was like he is such a great guy.

thank you. Fh is happy too, we bought in so many pics of cakes and got inspiration from all of them for each tier design and he helped alot with picking the designs

yeah thats why were not using the place our rh uses bc i dont think they couldve done what we wanted so were getting our cake on our own...i heard their cakes taste so good though so not knocking the place, bc everyone raves about it. Its the design i was concerned with
