CALLING ALL 9/03 BRIDES!!!

Original post by Fletch

Since this hasn't been moved and since there is no activity on the other board, I thought I would bring the exact title back.

Lisa - I know you started this and you get full credit but I just wanted to bring it back to where we might get some activity.

Re: CALLING ALL 9/03 BRIDES!!!

AAAGGGHHHH!!!! I cannot believe that I have only 10 days to go! AND, I am sick with a cold. I am going to the doctor at 1p. But, I am feeling better than yesterday, and hopefully I have enough time to get some medicine and get better.

Yesterday I was off from work, and we did the rounds- paid off the hall, paid off the florist, had my final fitting and paid off the dress. We have our meeting w. photographer tonight, and guess what? We get to pay them off too Money is FLYING out the door LOL.

Menus are done, table cards are done, programs are almost done- waiting on final music list from the church. Why, oh why, did I decide to do my own placecards? Those are NOT done, but I am close. I am totally stressed but still really looking forward to W-Day, I cannot wait to see cutie FH in his tuxedo at the end of that aisle

Re: CALLING ALL 9/03 BRIDES!!!

Ladies- Just making sure we are on top of things. Check this list over. :-)

Order liquor, wine and/or champagne, if not included in the catering contract.

Begin writing ceremony program, if you are having one.

Brides: Decide on and purchase major accessories (veil and shoes) prior to final fittings.

Begin working on vows, particularly if you're writing your own.

Arrange parking for the reception.

Confirm reservations for out-of-town guests.

As you receive presents, be sure to update and/or add items to your registry list.

Arrange for a babysitter for reception, if necessary.

Submit your wedding announcement to newspapers (if you so desire).

Research local marriage license requirements.

Brides: Attend final wedding-gown fitting.

Finalize vows.

Set aside some time to write thank-you notes for gifts received at the bridal shower.

Buy a guest book (and nice pen).

Make an appointment to take the veil to your hairstylist and make sure your current 'do and veil work together.

Grooms: Attend your bachelor party, and, afterward, make sure to thank the best man.

Brides: Buy gifts for your maid of honor and bridesmaids.

Grooms: Buy gifts for your best man, groomsmen, and ushers.

Send rehearsal-dinner invitations.

Do trial runs of hair and makeup and schedule wedding-day beauty appointments.

Finish and print ceremony programs.

Get marriage license and make appointments for blood tests (if necessary). Check when the license expires.

Work on a list of 'must-play' (and 'must-not play') songs for your DJ or band.

Discuss song list with ceremony musicians and agree on final choices.

Pick up wedding rings and check inscriptions before you leave the store.

Make sure your homeowner's insurance covers your rings and gifts.

Wrap all gifts for the wedding party and write each attendant a nice note.

Brides: Shop for all additional accessories like stockings, earrings, evening bag, etc.

Have a follow-up meeting or phone call with the officiant to go over ceremony timing and details.

Confirm wedding-night and honeymoon reservations.

Work on your sparkling smile. Cut back on tea, coffee, and tobacco, and try whitening toothpaste. You may also want to consider a professional bleaching by a dentist or using an over-the-counter whitening system.

Do paperwork for official documents if you are changing your name.

Sit for your bridal portrait, if you decide to get one.

Brides: Get final prewedding haircut, if necessary.

Work out wedding day timing and details (who will get the bride there, where the wedding party will dress, etc) and draw up a schedule.

Call or email wedding party to relay critical info related to rehearsal and wedding (dates, times, directions, duties).

Brides: Make sure you have your garter and 'something old, new, borrowed, and blue' if you want to include these customs in your wedding.

Brides: Pick up your gown.

Finalize any special preferences, readings or other ceremony details (in writing) with your officiant.

Get a head start on those thank-you notes (it will feel great to get a batch out before the wedding).

Plan a party or go out for cocktails to thank your attendants for all their help.

Confirm head count, delivery time, and location with the cakemaker.

Call guests who haven't RSVP'd for the wedding and rehearsal dinner (it’s okay to do this, you need a final head count!).

If you're having a receiving line, determine the order you want everyone to stand in.

Determine any wedding day assignments for members of the wedding party and make lists/info sheets as needed.

Brides: Practice walking in your wedding shoes.

Brides: Pick up the veil and/or headpiece.

Give final head count to the caterer. Confirm set-up instructions and menu items.

Call location manager and make sure your vendors all have access to the site when they need it.

Re: CALLING ALL 9/03 BRIDES!!!

How Exciting!!!!!! I've heard nothing but great this about the country club. You'll have a wonderful Day!!!
We got engaged in Feb. and hadn't planned on getting married till june of '04 there but after we heard it was changing hands we moved the date up so we'd know that we were happy with the country club.I love it just the way it is and didn't want to chance it being changed by the new people going in.

Hey guys - I know I haven't checked in much lately - have been going a leeeeetttttllle crazy lately! I am pretty much done also, have my programs, rice, all the ceremony stuff.. as we speak I am tightening up the seating and planning on doing the votives tomorrow. Favors should be complete by this weekend - just have to wrap them - and my final fitting is wed. night. My goodness it's all becoming so REAL! So many different emotions, but I wouldn't trade it for the world!
