I was in your shoes not to long ago and feel ur pain. I agree with the girls on here about trying to take some time to talk about things, go to counseling and trying to make it work. Maybe if you put the wedding plans on hold and just focus on ur love and why you decided to be together, you will be able to save it. I wish u good luck and let us know if you need anything....xoxo

I am so sorry really try to figure it talk about speaking to a counselor. Wedding are stress full and trust me I have been there mine didnt work last time but my cousin and her husband wedding was called off and they work things out and now have been married almost 4 years. Dont let money be the deciding factor there must be something underlying. Hope all work out for you sweety. Either way you will be okay

I'm so sorry to hear this I know things seem really hard and tough right now, but I'm a firm believer in the saying 'Everything happens for a reason.' Listen to what your gut and your heart are telling you to do and know that things will get easier and better no matter what the outcome is

I agree with the others if it's just about the wedding money try extending the engagment. Only you know what is best for you and your future.

GL with whatever your choice is

so do I ... I hope you can work it out!

Re: Cancelling Wedding / Engagement

I really am sorry to hear this. My opinion on the whole matter is he asked you to marry him for a reason. There is def. love there and that is a huge foundation. Like the other girls have stated, maybe if you guys put the planning to a short-term stop and take a bit of ahiatus, it might do you both some good. Trust me my FH and I argue every so often about the expenses behind this wedding. I initially wanted a small wedding because I knew we couldn't afford a big one but he insisted we have a lot of family and friends and its only one time so we agreed on a big wedding. We know what its like to worry and stress and sometimes it feels like its better to just elope! lol. But listen, I know that you guys can work this out. Let him have a little bit of space and breathe. And when he's ready and you're ready, have a heart to heart. Sit down and figure out your finances. Don't make unrealistic plans and remember that in the end the only thing that matters is that you will be together. You guys already got to this point. Just remind yourselves WHY you got here. Go out, alone have fun and just be together. I really hope things work out for you.

So sorry to hear this its understandable but you both need and deserve to be happy.

maybe putting things on hold is a good idea to give you both some times to wrap you head around things...

best of luck!!!!!!!!!

Re: Cancelling Wedding / Engagement

I'm so sorry that you're going through this It sounds like you two need to take a break from the wedding planning and remember why you started this process all along. B/C you love each other! He asked you to marry him; to be his wife. Getting married isn't all about the wedding; but so many times we (women) get so consumed in the dream wedding idea and want this amazing wonderful day. All that planning causes stress in the relationship and becomes a financial burden. I found FH & I started arguing fighting more when we got engaged b/c of all the wedding planning. I wanted things a certain way; he wanted them another. We're so happy when we're not thinking about the wedding. People always ask me how my plans are going and i tell them i haven't made any. It's not that i don't want to marry him but the stress of planning puts us in a bad place and i'd rather be happy and with him then stressing over a wedding that lasts one day. Sometimes we talk about just going to city hall doing something smaller and just moving on and enjoying our lives together.

LIke all the other girls said; maybe just take a break from wedding planning. I don't know how much you had planned already; but maybe just take a break. Don't talk wedding. I'm sure he'd appreciate a night out without mentioing color schemes or invite lists.

I really hope you can get to a place where you're happy. It would be sad to cancel the wedding; but canceling the wedding doesn't necesarrily mean canceling the engagement.

I honestly believe planning a wedding is the the true test of strength in your relationship. Every aspect of planning a wedding is STRESSFUL..money, family, opinions..all comes into one. I wish you the best of luck.

ITA! I feel like it's a true test of your relationship....Take some time away from each other to figure out what you really want

I'm so sorry your going through this, I'm sure it's not an easy decision at all. I would suggest therapy together. Also, if finances are what the problem is, maybe consider having just a small wedding, or even a destination wedding w/ just close family and friends. But I do understand if it's more than just wedding stress then you can't stay together. Good luck hun
