Hey ladies, my menu appt is in a few weeks. For all you past Carlyle brides, what entree's did you go with and how were they?

We did the meditteranian chicken- which i really liked and then kept it simple with the filet and salmon- didn't want to stray too far from the ordinary....
i did have a tough time choosing the duet course- but wound up going with the tuscan bistro and adding a intermezzo.
anything you are not sure of the chef can prepare for you one night for dinner at the restaurant- we did that to try the Thai Salad Duet Course...

Filet Mignon with the merlot reduction sauce>
A chicken dish that I think was called (French or country) Stuffed Chicken breast with spinach, prosciutto and mozzarella and >
Macadamia nut crusted mahi mahi in a coconut cream sauce.
I tried all of them at our wedding.
They were awesome!!!!!!!
Everyone loved the food!!!

We did: Fliet mignon au piovre Chicken stuffed with sun dried tomatoes ans goat cheese Stuffed sole
For the duet we had the crab cakes and salad. The bride and groom get to have all three entrees to share if you like.
Everything was delicious!

A suggestion for all you Carlyle brides to be..
If you're having a day wedding, make sure to ask your photographer to get some pictures inside the reception room against one of the windows. Some of our favorite pictures from the day are the ones taken in front of those gorgeous full length windows with the sun streaming in..
i only have one scanned to show you that doesn't show too much, but i'll try and scan some more in so you can see what i mean.
How long is cocktail hour? I remember the first time we went to look at the carlyle, Cynthia told us that the CH was 1hr and 15 mins. and the reception was 4 hrs...
When we went back to sign, I guess I was so excited I forgot to ask about this, but my contract only says one hour...I know it's only 15 mins, but it WAS one of the selling points and I would like cocktail hour to go on even longer if I had it my way

Im picking out my menu January 29th ... thanks for the update. I Booked in april 04 so the update was greatly appreciated... I cannot wait for the wedding- im absolutly in love with the carlyle- sue is amazing there- i will definitly be upset once the wedding is over.

Picked my menu!
We had out menu meeting with Gary on Saturday and it went great. We are doing a specialty drink (it's a Key Lime Martinig, green in color) picked out all of our hors d'ouvers (sp?) entrees, etc.
I don't have what we picked in front of me for the cocktail hour, but I can tell you some of our cocktail stations are the mashed potato bar and the panini station...yum!
For the duet course we went with the Tuscan Bistro. Our entress to choose from are the Filet Mignon with Merlot Reduction, the Long Island Duck, and the Mahi Mahi.
Our cake is devil's food filled with chocolate chip mousse with white icing with a scroll pattern...and we're doing the desert cafe.
I can't wait to eat at our wedding!

The food at the Carlyle is absolutely amazing.. we got to have one of each of the entrees and I remember the mahi mahi as being really really good! People were commenting on the food and the presentation a lot. Enjoy!

Im having my photographer take pics of us on the course itself... The carlyle is getiving us a golf cart so we can get out there and move easy. I believe you have to see if your photographer will take them. some dont like going out there. I think it will look great!

ha ha, funny story about that.. I too chose the scroll cake because it went with the scroll design on my dress and on our invitations and because i've always loved that design.
On the actual wedding day, my cake wasn't the scroll design! To be honest, i didnt really care because it was still a pretty cake and the inside was still the same (choc. with choc. mousse filling). It was actually the only thing that the Carlyle 'messed' up on. I didnt even bring it to anyone's attention because it wasn't that big of a deal to me. I would've loved the scroll cake though!

hmm, i honestly don't remember - it was yummy though whichever one it was! Its funny how i've forgotten so many of the little 'details' for the wedding after a few months.. sorry!

Here is my cake with the scroll design. We had marble cake with chocolate pudding filling and from the one bite I tasted it was great!
