Did Anyone....

besides me drop hints as to what they would like as an engagement ring? OR, did you go and look together?

I dropped hints and am NOT living it down that it wasn't a total surprise.

Yes, I actually brought him to the diamond district to 'browse' and I kept picking the same style, when he proposed 3 months later he knew what I wanted but i was still surprised.

I flat-out told him I wanted a Tiffany style round solitaire. My 'not so subtle hints' were related to the size stone I wanted.

We actually picked the ring out together. He was scared to death of ring shopping on his own and getting something I wouldn't like, so he pretty much told me he wanted us to do it together. So no dramatic surprise story with our engagement, but the ring is perfect!!

He'd asked me to pick out rings on adiamondisforever.com that I liked, or tell him what about them I liked. Then he had one made that incorporated elements of different rings that I liked. But what it actually looked like was a total surprise.

We went ring shopping together. He was scared of spending big $$$ on something I wouldn't like. It worked out perfectly!!!!

I went looking first to compare and then we went together. We picked out the stone and he picked out the setting. So I was surprised with the ring and I love it!!

I never hinted, we never went ring shopping. He picked out a ring all by himself! Although, there were a few conversations that took place so that he could be sure I wanted to get married!

I never hinted either and was totally suprised. He and my Dad (my Dad's made my ring) did a great job. I loooooooooove it!!

he knew what I liked, and had a ring made to match...but he actually picked the ring for me when we went shopping. So he started it...LOL

I designed my ring on www.adiamondisforever.com and emailed it to him along with the 2 months salary guideline when we were dating about three weeks. A few days later when I went to his house it was printed out sitting in his printer.
I was getting kinda old & figured I was going to waste anymore time on guys that aren't with the program.

We went to the diamond district about 5 months before 'just to get an idea' . He knew I wanted a high setting and round. We picked out about five together and he made the final decision....a very wise one
