Did you know you were getting engaged?

Did anyone have any idea if they were getting engaged? I had some sort of an idea since we were together for 5 years. I was starting to get really impatient.

Yup. My FH is not exactly Mr. Romantic. I picked out the ring cause he said he was clueless. lol

We were together 4 years and 9 months.. went together to pick out my ring cuz he said it's something ill have for the rest of my life and he wanted me to love it.. but he didnt propose until 3 months after that so I was extremily impatient since we had gone looking for the ring! But it was such a sweet proposal and wouldnt of had it any other way!

I knew it would happen eventually, just not when it did happen. I thought maybe another year! I was definitely ready, we have been together 5 years!

I knew it was going to happen sometime that year. We had talked about it a lot and he just kept saying 'soon'. I was surprised when it happen because I did not know it was going to be then. I actually thought he was going to do it when we went on the cruise in May with his family. He did it a week before my birthday in April.

I knew it was coming he couldnt keep his mouth shut lol and told me he bought the ring I tried on and loved lol

Unfortunately, I did too.

My FH decided to tell me that we were going to look at diamonds on our cruise....

I was there when FH bought my ring, because they had to size my ring. And it stunk that everytime I looked in our safe, the bag with the ring was there staring me in the face!!

The only thing I didn't know was when he was going to actually do it. Which kind of caught me off guard..

Some people don't like the surprise. I had to send my fiance pictures of rings that i liked because he refused to go to jewelers with me bc he personally didn't like that idea. We talked about getting engaged for awhile and I just thought it was never going to happen. He wanted me to send him pictures bc he knows how picky i am didn't want to get me something i didn't like. I would look online and go with my mom to the jewelry stores and thank god i did bc what i saw on pics looked nothing like i expected in person.

Yea....FH can't keep his mouth shut. He told me while we were on vacation that he bought the ring and it's waiting for me. He waited a few weeks to propose to keep me in 'suspense' but come onnnnnnn - i knew! whatever..all that matters is that he finally did~~~

we where together 8 years when we got engaged & i had absolutely no idea FH was going to propose. actually no one knew except for FMIL. i loved the surprise & so did our family & friends

I knew it was coming but didnt actually know when. He kept asking me about what kinds of rings I liked. I knew we'd be engaged sometime over the summer. Part of me thought it would happen in Disney, and when it didnt I had no clue when. He proposed 2 days after we came home and it totally shocked me even though I knew it was coming.

Nope..I had no idea..he really surprised me and that is not easy considering we had been together 7+ years when we got engaged.

Yes and i wish i didnt. i work in the store he got my ring from. i had saw that the ring i wanted was gone and found the job in the back with no name on it. and then our dumb a$$ diamond guy really ruined it when i spoke to him on the phone and said congrats when FH didnt even ask me yet. but he still surprised me when he asked me!

I had no idea, he had dropped some clues but I didnt think he would do it for a long time. We were together 4.5 years before we took a 2 year break. We had just gotten back together a few months before he ask

I knew. I knew he had the ring for a while, since one night he spilled to me while drunk! I knew since July, and he proposed in December. His plans kept getting messed up and he was waiting for the perfect moment. Finally, he realized it wasn't about the perfect moment! He did it on our 1 year anniversary in our house and it was PERFECT! It would have been wherever he did it.

This is pretty much my story in a nutshell. Except we picked out the ring together. lol

I knew it would be coming soon, I just didn't know when. We were together for 9 years before we got engaged, so I knew it had to happen soon. But I wasn't expecting it when it did happen because FH was unemployed at the time.

I'm so happy I'm not the only one who had to wait at least four years.

FH & I were together for 5 years...We spoke about getting engaged alot and always said we'd be engaged fall 2010...

I had an idea that FH was getting the ring bc he kept 'going to NJ to visit his friend' i kneewww he was getting the ring

2 days before he proposed, i flipppped out on him, crying and yelling that he didn't want to marry me...i was sooo impatient...

meanwhile FH had the whole thing planned for about a week and here I am crying and yelling

he neverrrrrrrrrrr spilled the beans and i was totally surprised the day it happened
