Do any of you ladies actually..

LIKE your FMIL?? I don't, but I'm just curious as to how many of you do. It seems to me that most of the FMIL's are in need of some help.
WHY?

I love my FMIL. We get along great! FH parents moved to Vegas about 2 years ago and I actually miss them and wish they had stayed.

I like my future FMIL. There are certainly moments, but for the most part she's not so bad. My mom, on the other hand, finds her annoying sometimes.

Sometimes yes and sometimes no. She is a sweet person and very nice but sometimes I feel like I just can't talk around her because I'll say something wrong or wind up looking stupid. Nine times out of ten she's alright though.

I do like her a lot...that doesn't mean some things she does don't drive me NUTS!!!

My FMIL and I have a great relationship - We talk here and there and have never had any issues.

I love my FMIL. She's exactly what I wish MY mother was--love shopping, gossips, watches same tv shows. But it's a great ballance between FMIL and my mom.

my FMIL is a psycho!! FH doesn't even really speak to her.:

I love my FMIL!!! She is so nice and the best cook every. And they really like me too.

I love my MIL we get along so well. It may help that she lives accross the Atlantic but she calls me to chat and we email back and forth. I lived by her for a while and even then we would meet up for a drink so I think if she did live here we would still get on very well.

My future FstepMIL is great though and I have no complaints about her...and my mom loves her!

I wish I had the chance to get to know my FMIL. She passed away from cancer about 3 months after I met FH. I only met her once because she was already really sick when we started dating....


The good thing is that FH tells me that I remind of his mother all the time.... So i think we would have gotten along really well....

Well ladies, I'm jealous. I am a very sweet, intelligent and caring person. I'm family oriented, growing up with 8 siblings...but for some reason, FMIL is rude, and unapproachable. She's sooo opinionated that I can't stand it. I realize that that is who she is, and I have accepted it, but it really bothers me!! I already spoke to her about it, and she basically had me thinking that I WAS THECRAZY ONE!! Then FH stepped in and straightened her out. But she's gotten worse! It's so bad.... I just feel that no matter who her son was with, she would never like. That's just the way that she is. so all of you are very lucky.

Dannan - we are in the same situation...I have been with FH for almost 7 years and I still don't think she likes me...FMIL tells FH that she loves me but trust me actions speak louder than words!!!!!! When I go there and try to talk to her she still ignore and talks to him grrrrrrr and now all of a sudden she is sooooooooo interested and wants to make all wedding suggestions and decisions YEAH RIGHT!!!!


P.S. Thank god my mom is awesome - she is my best friend and I love love love her! so she makes up for any FMIL!

My FMIL is great! I love her! She welcomed me into the family immediately and has never tried to take over the wedding planning.

She is one of the kindest, sweetest people I've ever met!

I realize that I am very lucky....

I lost my mom many years ago, but I am so grateful that my FMIL is so kind and generous (she had 2 boys, no girls, so I think that makes our relationship special as her first soon-to-be daughter in law).

I have a difficult relationship with my own father, and believe me, sometimes you have to be the stronger person because they are family, and they'll always be there, so you have to work harder than you know you should need to for the people that come into your life (like when you get married). I know it's hard and I know you're trying, but just like my father, I know I'll never change him, so I have to accept how he is and make the best out of the relationship I have. I hope this helps.

Love her to death, but she is the family gossip. Cant say anything around her unless you want the ENTIRE FAMILY (including those out of State) to know your business. I am learning to adapt though.
