Do you like your first name?

I'm a Rachel, and I love it. There are so many Rachels, but it's strange how rarely I'll actually meet another one in Day to Day life.

On the subject of mispronunciations, you'd be surprised how many times people have seen my name and said 'Raykle.' NO LIE. People for whom English is without a doubt their first language. It never ceases to amaze me.

On the subject of middle names, I used to hate mine because it's the same as a Karate chop, but now I love it because it's the feminine version of my late grandfather's name.

My daughter's name is Rachel. When she was first born and everyone was sending cards, I was absolutely floored by the million different ways people were spelling it.

As for my name, it's okay, didn't like it growing up but now it's not too bad.

my name? eh.. it's okay. i was defitely very irritated with it as a little girl. i got the shirley temples, laverne and shirley, curly shirley (meanhwile my hair was never curly as a little girl) and surely, don't call me shirley - that was hysterical.. =P:::

now, now i'm okay with it.

I love my name, it means warrior - it's the proud Irish in me

It's Aja (pronounced Asia) and I was named after the Steely Dan album!!

I like my name. It's just Vicki, not Victoria, although I'll answer to Victoria. Sometimes I wish it was Victoria, but I'm ok with just Vicki.

I work with children and they sometimes call me Miss Vicki, which I think is adorable and I have a few friends who call me V or Vic.

I love my name! I always have. It was great growing up - I was the only Mary I knew!! I was named after my grandmother - first name and middle name! I love names with roots!!



However, the song that I heard most associated with my name was 'Mary, Mary, Why ya buggin''

I like Cindy and no its not Cynthia...it isn't all that common, although at times I wished for a more grown-up name (it sounds very 50's & very cheerleader type)....

I'm also NOT a Cynthia, I hate it when people assume that it is. And I know what you mean, whenever there's a Cindy on TV or in a movie she's always some bimbo Valley girl type.

I like how it's not too common but not too different either. As a kid I wanted to change it tho, I liked Melissa or Michelle or Danielle.

I like my name but everyone spells it wrong all the time...I'm Stefanie, not Stephanie!!

YES!! I love it...and I love being asked 'are you Russian?' and seeing the puzzled look in people's faces when I tell them that I'm 100% Puerto Rican...born and raised!!

Sasha isn't a popular name and I like that.

I love my middle name more though!

Are you kidding me... I get the same reaction - my name is Sasha and I am Puerto Rican.

I didnt like my name growing up, because everyone would say thats a boys name or my pet is names Sasha.
