My FH wants to wait but I want to try to have one right after the wedding. I am 33 and I don't want to wait. Even my Gyno says not too but he wants to find a house first etc...... It is never the right time. What do you gals think?

as soon as the honeymoon is over I will be coming of the pill, I don't want to mess with my hormones before that, although I would love a honeymoon baby

I would like to wait atleast 2 years before we have kids. I want to be able to travel alot for those 1st 2 years since we really can't right now and it's not easy to travel with a baby.

No, I need at least 2-3 years to enjoy being married. Maybe travel more too before having kids.

I'm only 26 so I'm not in a rush. I'd like to have a few more years of work experience (I've only been practicing law for about 1 year) and I'd like to get a house first. I think I'd be happy with getting a dog soon and kids in 2-4 years.
I completely agree with this! What's the rush...a child is a lifetime commitment...I want some more time with FH before we have a child. A child needs to come first always and I want to keep FH as my #1 priority for awhile!

I would like to try soon because I will be close to 36 by the time I get married. FH doesnt get it but we talk about it. There is a family history of pregnancy and other issues relating to having a baby that I am dealing with. Working in the field I am in, (I teach special education in a psychiatric day treatment center), having too much knowledge is not a good thing. I am quite frightened when it comes to having children knowing all of the risks (to the child and the mother) that come with age. I am not progressive enough to think that with all of the advancements in science and medicine that 'IT WONT BE ME.' Not a chance worth taking. I also have to have genetic testing because of my ethnicity. Sure if I were ten years younger, Id wait. I dont have the luxury now.
By the way, my birth came as a result of a baby my mother lost to complications with Down Syndrome. He was very ill and didn't live past 10 weeks. My mother already had 3 healthy children and had him at 37. She had me at 38 only after having an amniocentesis. My fears are very real.

We're still young and want to enjoy being newlywed's and going on vacations other than Disneyworld
I'm 25, he's 30 - at least a good 5 years to wait!

I'll be 25 when I get married and my FH will be just about 26 (his bday is the same month)....he wants a right away! I want to wait a little bit, but I would like to have kids soon after. I want like 4 kids and to have them early so I can enjoy retirement. LOL
