Does anyone else worry about having the $ to pay for all this?
I mean, I'm working and fiance is too and we have a 'budget' but I just freaked out today because the wedding's in a few months and a lot of the money is supposed to come in (income tax return, etc.) so if God forbids something happens, we're screwed. Anyone else worry about this? Just typing it gave me palpitations.

We both work and I'm changing careers now so it' a stretch. You just do the best you can and see if you can start payment monthly or something. We started paying our reception hall and some other vendors on a payment schedule. There are always things that happen it's what you do and what you learn from it what counts.

Yes, there are tons of us out there. My friend says the wedding is like the one time in people's lives where they feel as though there is no limit. This sounds so completely tacky but thats what credit cards are for because hopefully once you get married, you'll get some money back to be able to pay it off.....

I totally understand what you're going through. I go through the same thing and sometimes I feel like there is no way we're going to have the money for everything! Plus, we just found an apartment and I feel as if there is no way we are going to be able to pay rent and save money for the wedding!

Honestly, no. We planned ahead enough to know exactly what we would be paying and we did not go over our budget.
We each contribute $500 per month to wedding expenses. That's $12,000 for the year. That and the personal wedding expenses has allowed us to stay within the $15K budget we set for ourselves.
If you plan ahead of time and keep to your limits, paying for your wedding is not a problem.
but then again, we don't pay rent or mortgage, so that has a lot to do with it.

I'm always thinking about the $ part of our wedding. Do we have enough now? Will we have enough when the time comes? This is such a stressful time in our lives. I work 2 jobs and so does FH. All of our money is put towards the wedding.

YUP!! I'd say i think about finances EVERYDAY!!
No matter how much we put aside for the wedding, I feel like we're going to come up short in the end.

anytime you are devoting this much money on one day in so many different aspects makes my head spin! we must recalculate our figures on a bi weekly basis at least!! but i think in the long run everything will work out and it will be the most beautiful day of my life. And thats what I really count on to keep my sanity!

my FH and refuse to start out in debt, so i took an extra job for six months and it helped a ton to save (we both own our own places and pay for masters programs so i had to.) basically if i wanted all the trimmings i had to find a way to pay for them up front...i'm glad i worked that job, but thank goodness its over now. so yes, i definitely worry about money, but you have to have a plan, and going into CC debt is not a good thing even if you can pay it off with gift money. OH- we're also delaying our honeymoon so we can pay for that in cash. at least i'll have something to look forward to after the wedding, kinda stretch out the fun!

we're not going into debt to pay for the wedding we've put aside money to pay, but I hate looking at our wedding account and knowing that after May 7th they'll be nothing in there and that the amount we're spending could have added a nice chunk of change to our house account.

Yes FH and I are freaking out about the same, we're gonna sit down this week and see what we still owe vendors, and if we cant make it, I'll beging working serious OT< and FH will take a wknd job... i cant wait for this to be over

We (and I mean I beacause fi has no idea of how much money we have) re-calculate the money all the time! We set aside a special savings account just for the wedding and have been making vendor payments on a schedule so that by the time May rolls around we only owe JT around $3K but this results in our savings being nearly depleted.
Thanks so much ladies, it's great to know I'm not alone! ANd yes, keeping it all in perspective it should all be worth it!

I honestly felt like I was the only one. Money nevers leaves my mind when thinking about this wedding. I have put together a monthly payment plan to pay each vendor a small amount each month. This way I am not giving them the lump sum on wedding day. I am also thinking about getting a second job.

Please try not to put things on your credit card unless you absoultely have too. In addition, if you are thinking about doing this callyour current credit card company and find out about lowering your APR.
