Donation instead of favor ideas

Hello! I am doing a donation instead of favors, my fiances mother passed away from cancer a few months ago and I do charity work for an animal shelter. we were going to donate to two different charities. I know some ppl like the donating idea and others dont. I would like to donate n feel its better than wasting money on gifts pppl usually toss away. Any ideas on how I should display the fact that we r doing a donation? Should I do a frame at the table with a letter...or idk any ideas would be helpful! thankss

I have seen this before and think its really nice when people do this. I think a small card stating 'in lieu of favors we are donating to' whichever charities you choose. Hope this helps

I agree. I think this is a great idea. place a small note on each table.especially since his mom just passed. I think everyone will love that idea.

I agree. Usually favors are a waste of money. I think a small card on each plate would be nice..and maybe write something about why those charities are important to you. Which animal shelter? I also volunteer..

I also plan on doing a donation favor. My younger cousin passed away 6 1/2 years ago from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and my older brother has MS so I was planning a putting some sort of frame with a saying on what charities we are donating to as well as a little saying in memory of my cousin and in honor of my brother with a picture of them. I think either something like that or a card at each plate is a great idea. I feel like a donation favor is such a great idea bc I would rather donate to charity then buy something that people will forget about or just toss away.

Sometimes charities will send you little donation cards to put out. Or, order business cards from Vistaprint with a little blurb on it regarding the charities and tie some kisses or something to it, and place it at each place setting.

My friend did a donation for breast cancer...and had a table with a sign stating so and a bowl of those pink bracelets for people to take.

and then put hershey kisses (with hugs n kisses( in a little baggie with labels on the bottom of them and then print that wording on a little card and and tie it with red ribbon to the candy.

no definitely not! The Hersheys kisses is a really cute touch. I say go for it!

I bought card stock from Michaels and typed up a little message to each of our guests explaining our donation. There was on card at each setting.

im doing the Hershey idea too....its great!! I'm putting them in mesh 'favor bags'...and tying the note to the strings.
efavormart.com has them reaaally cheap....the cheapest i could find

we are doing a donation favor

one wine bottle per couple from Lieb Vineyards of the mission merlot. Its a wine that has all the proceeds dedicated to the fdny 9.11 fund and since FH is fdny its a perfect fit (that and my whole fam loves wine!)

its $9.11 per bottle but if you buy in bulk they give you 20% off each case so it works out to be about $7 a bottle per couple

really like the hershey kiss idea!!

We are doing a donation and just having one sign on a table on the way out with water bottles for everyone, with lace wrapped around in place of the labels.
