Re: e ring insurance

I know that the jeweler who made my e-ring STRONGLY recommended to have insurance on it, as did basically everyone else i spoke to. FH owns our co-op, so he put it with his homeowner's insurance.

Re: e ring insurance

many people do it under their home or renters insurance. I dont own or rent so I would ask jeweler.

Re: e ring insurance

Get it
It is so cheap and will keep you at ease.

If you rent, you can add it to that or it you own same thing. Just get it appraised and call your broker.

Re: e ring insurance

I have my ring insured. I got it insured through stat farm. We had to get rental insurance for my apartment and then we get another policy which was a roll over policy for the ring.

you just have to fax over the appraisal the insurance company and thats the coverage that you get...at least that is how mine worked

Re: e ring insurance

Mine is a rider under my mom's home owner's policy (I still live at home). They say that it has to be 'where the ring lives', unless you specifically get jewlery insurance.

IMO, I would def insure it. I mean if, God forbid, it gets lost of stolen, it can never replace the original, but it will be replaced physically.

Re: e ring insurance

FYI: it's good to get insurance specifically FOR the ring. many people put it under their homeowner's or renters... which is better than nothing... BUT... a friend of mine lost hers and although it was under the homeowner's they didn't cover it. to be covered under homeowners, the ring would have to be damaged or lost due to something that happened to the home... i.e. a flood, fire, etc. my friend's little child apparently got a hold of the ring and lost it and homeowners would not cover it because there was no damage to the home. hope this makes sense....

Mine is under my homeowner's insurance as a 'Scheduled Personal Property' and specifically lists the specs of the ring along with the appraised value...it better be covered if it's lost!!!! haha

Re: e ring insurance

DEFINITELY get e ring insurance. God forbid you lose it, or a stone. You don't want to worry about that. It's not expensive at all.
