East Wind, Swan Club, Fox Hollow, Westbury Manor, Giorgio's at Foxhill- help me decide!

I am recently engaged and have started doing research on millions of websites for an outside wedding ceremony. I narrowed my search down to: East Wind, Giorgio's at Fox Hill, Swan Club, Westbury Manor and Fox Hollow. I have appointments set up so see half of the places next week and will see the other half shorty after but I need your opinions! If you had to choose a place for an outside ceremony (but it needs to have an equally nice inside just in case of rain!), where would you chose?? And how's the food/ help/ and all that other stuff! THANKS SO MUCH!!

Re: East Wind, Swan Club, Fox Hollow, Westbury Manor, Giorgio's at Foxhill- help me decide!

All of these except for Swan Club are the ones I visited. I had my HS prom at Swan Club though and the outside area is beautiful.

I'm really hoping the weather cooperates with my date for an outside wedding. Giorgio's outside is beautiful and what I love about it is that it's quiet and not on a busy road. It's right by a golf course and has nice views. I have pictures in my album that I posted for another bride. They re-did their gazebo and the pics on their website are outdated. If we have to do inside, the room is surrounded by windows on three sides, which I like and is spacious.

I have heard nothing but great reviews on the food and I even went there for brunch to see for myself. They're great and family-owned and run by a father and son team. It's very close to East Wind and you'll be able to see them both in the same day.

All the one's you named were very beautiful and I loved WM's gardens and that it's a little more off the road.

I have only seen Easwind out the ones that you mentioned but the estate has a beautiful outside location for the ceremony. They have another one with a brick walkway and an arbor. I'm partial but its so beautiful there!

Welcome and congrats (again!)!!!

I'm glad you found the board and believe me, you will receive more than enough advice here...

If you need any other advice on EW, SC or FH, I can try my best with that info. I still have all the materials from when I looked this past summer.

Good luck!!

Think about what you want in a place...for example WM is beautiful but they do not do on site ceremonies in the evening.

Re: East Wind, Swan Club, Fox Hollow, Westbury Manor, Giorgio's at Foxhill- help me decide!

I visited all of those RH's, I eventually booked Fox Hollow for a few reasons. I loved the intimate feel/decor of the place. The menu is unbelievable! There is so much food and it is absolutely delicious!!! They were also willing to work with us during negotiating.

Re: East Wind, Swan Club, Fox Hollow, Westbury Manor, Giorgio's at Foxhill- help me decide!

How big of a wedding and what time of year are you thinking?

I looked at Swan Club, Westbury Manor and Fox Hollow. Out of those 3 I would definitely choose Fox Hollow. I had my wedding there last month and the food was out of this world. There were some service issues which no one but me noticed (this is going to happen at reception halls which host multiple events) but over all, I got my money's worth and my guests raved and raved.

The grounds made for FANTASTIC photos- which is great to have. I also stayed (got ready in and stayed after the wedding) at their hotel next door and it was spectacular- also great for photos. So, all in all, as far as providing you with an upscale, dream wedding feel but at a VALUE price...Fox Hollow. Hands down.

Re: East Wind, Swan Club, Fox Hollow, Westbury Manor, Giorgio's at Foxhill- help me decide!

I booked the Swan Club and you must know that their ceremony area is not outdoors. They do it in the 'Atrium' which has an outdoors feel, but it is technically inside. I orginally also wanted an outdoor wedding, and I booked another location before Swan Club, but I kept getting worried about what if it rained, I didnt want to get married in a ball room, or what if it was too hot or too windy. So for other reasons, I looked into booking another hall and when I saw the Swan Club I thought that they offered the perfect compromise, indoors with an outdoor feel. They do have a big and gorgeous garden for pictures, which I love. I would say def. check them out.

Re: East Wind, Swan Club, Fox Hollow, Westbury Manor, Giorgio's at Foxhill- help me decide!

Westbury Manor was MY first choice... but with the guarantee they wanted on a Saturday night, I only qualified for the Mid sized room which correlated to cocktail hour starting at 8.... too late. Plus, they say that room will fit 140... and there is NO way that's possible unless people were sitting in laps. Or the guests decided to eat off the band's drum kit.

If I were having a larger wedding, I'd have gone with WM, cause the larger room with the earlier time wouldn't have been a problem.

Swan Club was very pretty, but we reeally wanted to impress with the food maybe even a little moreso than the setting, and their menu was stuff we've seen before... we just wanted something a little different (not to say their food isn't very good, I actually didn't try it, but the menu wasn't what we were looking for)
But as far as the grounds, both Swan Club and WM are BEAUTIFUL... I don't know about having an outdoor ceremony at WM, I didn't ask since we're getting married in church.. I know they do them and it looks beautiful but I don't know WHEN they do them. The cocktail hour there is STUNNING. That's the only thing I feel like we're lacking at Russo's... the outdoor element, but we decided which things we wanted were highest priority and Russo's had the best balance we could find... but my heart still aches a little for WM I also really liked the old home feel to it, the coziness. :sigh::

Anyway... lol

Fox Hollow I've been to for events with law school... so I wasn't too interested in looking there for my wedding. I wasn't super impressed with the experiences I did have there, but I've never been there for a wedding, so maybe they step it up for that because girls RAVE about Fox Hollow!

HTH. Good luck!

Oh, PS, the only reason I didn't look at the rest of what's on your list is proximity to my church in Brooklyn.. I grew up near Wading River and I've only ever heard good things about East Wind and Giorgio's (giorgio's especially!).

Re: East Wind, Swan Club, Fox Hollow, Westbury Manor, Giorgio's at Foxhill- help me decide!

I've actually been to all of these places for weddings or visiting! There are pros and cons to each of course. For outdoor ceremony, def check out giorgios and east wind the estate (on the same day). giorgios is in the process of extending their outdoor patio area and adding some more bars and details - the plans sounded great, we were very close to booking with them (had it on hold), but wanted to stay a little more west. I heard the food is great and 1.5 hr for CH. East wind estate is adorable. The outside is lovely, we were too big for the room however, but I really liked it and have heard good things. My sisters wedding was at Fox Hollow, everything was great the gardens are lovely, food was delicious, and having the inn is a major perk, however, they have multiple weddings at time, so you have to decide if that is a factor. WM was my cousins, same nice gardens, good food, multiple affairs. I was a bridesmaid at a swan club wedding and they have a pavillion in the gardens where they do the ceremony, it's covered so I think they use it rain or shine. They had a bunch of affairs going on at the same time. It was very nice, but hot, it was a june wedding! Hope that was even a little helpful, good luck!

Re: East Wind, Swan Club, Fox Hollow, Westbury Manor, Giorgio's at Foxhill- help me decide!

I've seen the Swan Club, WM and Fox Hollow, so I can only comment on these three.
In terms of outdoor ceremony, Swan Club and WM have stunning grounds. I'm biased towards WM and prefer it's interior to the other two.

I've also had food at all three. I loved WM and Fox Hollow; however, I wasn't as impressed with Swan Club.

Personally, I'd go with WM because I feel it provides that best combination of quality food, beautiful grounds and a classy, well-decorated interior. However, I haven't seen the other two.

Re: East Wind, Swan Club, Fox Hollow, Westbury Manor, Giorgio's at Foxhill- help me decide!

Thank you all for your help!! I appreciate all the time you have taken to help me out! I am going to look at East Wind and Giorgio's on Thursday and then hitting to ones west on Tuesday. I am so stuck, I have no clue what to do! I am taking all your comments to heart so keep them coming! Specifically, we were looking for a wedding outside in the beginning of July 2011 but I'm definately going to be stressed if all these places are so nice! It really comes down to the little stuff like service and all that. Thanks!
