My FH proposed after we returned home from a trip to Las Vegas. He was going to propose there but with all the 9/11 security measures he was afraid to bring the stone (we got the setting together afterwards...it was perfect that way!).
BTW, very funny susans...my FH is a web developer too and bought my center stone online (@ blue nile) after much research online. It was so fitting!

He had originally planned on proposing at Yankees Stadium and have the 'MARCELLA, WILL YOU MARRY ME?' pop up on the scoreboard, but he was soo anxious that he did it at Nick D'Angelo's in Merrick.. it was wonderful!! everyone cheered and they lit up sparklers and brought out champagne and strawberries.. the biggest surprise was that both our families had been waiting for us in the bar area!!! it was great!
Thank GOd he didn't do it at the stadium!! I would have died! lol

We went to dinner at Le Bernardin in NYC and then to the Plaza - we had a suite overlooking Central Park and I was looking out the window when he came over and started talking about how we took a horse carriage ride our first Christmas together in the Park and went on to tell me how much I mean to him and then he got down on his knee and asked! The following day we went to his parents house in PA (our families were spending Easter weekend together there) and we got to tell our Moms and his sister and my Grandma together (only the Dads knew.)

My FI took me to NYC on Christmas Eve. His plan was to go see the tree and go ice skating. I thought he was going to pop the question there. We went by ground zero, then went to have lunch at an Irish pub at South Street Seaport. He proposed on the way out. It was pretty random! According to him, he just couldn't wait another second. So instead of 'My FI proposed while we were in NYC at the tree,' I have 'My FI proposed after we went to GROUND ZERO.'
And then he asked me if I was surprised and I had to tell him that I told everyone we knew that he was proposing on Christmas Eve becuase I didn't want our life to start with a lie and becuase I didn't think it would be possible to contact ALL of those people and tell them not to mention to him that I had guessed.
I can't believe that was year ago!

He wanted to propose to me on our cruise but couldnt get to the ring, because of the horrible tragedy on 9/11/01. So as soon as he was able to get it, he gave it to me.

We were home. I was lying on the couch in my pjs with bad girlie-cramps and watching Dinotopia on ABC. He was up my butt all night about having some ice-cream. Finally I said 'Fine - I'll have some.' He went into the kitchen served it up (Friendly's mint chocolate chip) - handed me the bowl and then said 'Here's the cherry on top' - and behind the bowl was the red jewerly box.

I had surprised my fiance with a weekend to one of the Ceasers resorts in the Poconos (the ones with the heart shaped and champagne glass hot tubs) as a Christmas present. We went there in January and he popped the Q after midnight while we were in front of the fire. It was a complete surprise. He had actually handed me a fake newsletter saying it came frm the resort under the door and was about the snow storm we were getting. When I looked at it, the lead story was Him Proposing to Me. After I read the little story, he officially asked me. Very creative on his part!

My FH threw me a surprise 30th b-day party.....
It was time for cake....they start singing happy birthday, and FH walks down the stairs with another cake that says 'WILL YOU MARRY ME'.........it was precious and UNFORGETTABLE!!!!!! With all our close friends around!

In Vienna, Austria...we've dated for 6 years, and I had a feeling it might happen on the trip... but then I definitely thought it wasn't going to, b/c 6 days had passed and no proposal!! He proposed on the 7th day at Schoenbrunn Palace in front of a beautiful fountain. Wonderful

Well, he proposed at Palmer Vieyards out east after wine tasting on Aug. 29, 2001. It was romantic since he packed a picnic. Sooo cute!

on the balcony of the hotel room we were staying at in Vail last February...he was so nervous his heart was racing so fast (i used to live in denver and I thought it was the altitude and he was going to pass out!) I wanted to call everyone at 3am NY time but he talked me out of it!
