Enter to win a free day of coordinator for your wedding from Above & Beyond Events LI! Have your wedding day run super smoothly by having a fabulous day of coordinator from Above & Beyond Events! They will take care of every detail on your big day so you can enjoy every single amazing moment.
Winner will receive a 5 hour day of coordination package. All you have to do to enter this contest is reply to this official contest thread and tell us about your first date and why you would like a DOC.
Winner will be selected at random from all the entrants. Contest ends at midnight on July 8th and the winner will be announced that week. Only one entry per user name. This prize is non-transferable and non-refundable. Open to brides to be only.

My FH and I had a simple, laid-back first date. We went to Starbucks to get to know each other a little better. We hit it off so well that we ended up getting dinner and skipping other appointments we had that day to spend more time with each other!
A DOC would be a HUGE help to me on my wedding day! I tend to be a perfectionist and can stress out over details. As much as I would love to be in 10 places at once to make sure everything is in order, I want to be able to enjoy my wedding day with my friends and family. I know a DOC will make sure everything runs smoothly...which is the best gift I could ask for!

This would be perfect for us!
Our first date was to a bar in Bellmore..we both are big beer enthusiasts, and we decided to meet up for a drink as friends. After about an hour or so, we both realized that it was much more than just a drink. Although that was the first night we were alone together, he was actually my high school crush
After that night we've been together every night; and two days ago he made it official that we'll have every night together for the rest of our lives
We could totally use a wedding planner, if for no other reason than we want to have the wedding in two months. We just bought a house together, and we are more than ready to start our lives as a married couple. But two months to plan a wedding is definitely a challenge!

We didnt have a traditional first date. FH and I met through a mutual friend and had met months before we started dating. We had developed feelings for each other just by spending time with our mutual friends. When he officially 'asked me out' it was just the two of us sitting on the beach under the stars. It was very romantic.
A DOC would be a HUGE help for FH and I. I'm incredibly neurotic about being on time and the little details being perfect. Having an extra set of hands would be an invalueable asset to us on the most important and meaningful day of our lives.

Our first date was at Dave and Busters. It was great, we had so much fun playing all the games. It was such a relaxing atmosphere. I knew from that day he was the one for me.
Having a DOC would be a huge help for us. We have a lot of little detail stuff that I put into our wedding. And knowing that it all will be taken care of and be on display will take a huge load off my mind so I can truly relax and enjoy the day without thinking that I forgot something or something went missing. We would have booked a DOC, but we just couldn't afford it since we are paying for the wedding ourselves.

Our first 'official' date alone, he took me to the town boat doc up in port washington, we walked and talked and really got to know each other. It was really beautiful because you could see all the boats lit up at night in the water! We had already been out a few times with mutual friends but really got to talking this night! 3 years later, it's where he proposed!
We could totally use a DOC because I really would like to be stress-free on the biggest and most important day of my life! I would love for someone to take care of the small details for me so I could really be a guest at my wedding!

FH and I's first date was actually to the movies. We have been friends in high school and senior year, we decided to give love a try. We caught a movie and since then been in love.
A DOC would help me immensely! Knowing that my vision is covered aside from me worrying about it the whole week/day (basically time), is one thing that would definitely help. It would also be less stress on my poor mother, MOH, and bridesmaids. My goal is not to turn into a bridezilla!

Our first date....HAHA. I got fed up waiting for him to ask me out, so I called and told him to take me to a movie. He just had dental surgery, so i bought some wine and had him drive. We went to see Walk the Line and I go so drunk in the theater that I almost fell down when the lights came back on!!! It was histerical and thankfully, my FH has known me since I was 12 so it was not embarrassing at all!!! A great story for the grandkids!
I would love a DOC. I have so many little details to keep tract of that a professional would just be amazing.

The FH and I didn't have a traditional first date. We met while on vacation with friends in OBX. I was with my college friends, and he was with his college friends. We met the first night of his vacation. My friends and his friends all just clicked. I gave him my number, but because my phone number has many of the same numbers in it, he deleted it thinking it was fake. We ended up seeing him 2 nights later at another bar, and we totally hit it off that night. We hung out every night after that during our trip. He lives in DC and I live in NY, we talked almost every day after meeting each other. 2 months after meeting him, I decided i would go down to DC to visit him. We decided we wanted to spend as much time together, so we've seen each other every weekend since. That was 4 years ago. i'm finally moving down there this summer, so that I can see him every day, instead of every weekend!
I would love a DOC but since I'm paying for my wedding all on my own, I probably won't have it in the budget. I would love to be able to just truly enjoy my day and not worry about anything, and I want my guests to enjoy themselves and not have to worry about stuff either. DOC's think of everything that could happen and they prepare for that. I need someone who is prepared for the 'what ifs' so that my day runs smoothly and exactly as I imagined it.

Our first date was at Starbucks for coffee. We talked for a while and set up a second date right after. over five years later we are engaged and getting married!
A DOC would be an absolute life saver! It is not in our budget, and winning this would help out a lot. Just to have someone take care of everything would be a blessing!

After we met in my hot tub (LOL) we got together a week later as friends with a group and hung out at my FWs apartment. We didnt have a true 'first date' alone until almost a month later, after we were officially dating- at a restaurant/ bar by her apartment. We hung out several times in groups - bon fires, parties, etc.
We would LOVE a DOC as we have a few untraditional aspects to our wedding... some of which has to do with us being a same sex couple. also, I would like all guests to enjoy the wedding and i would rather not ask anyone to help coordinate set ups!, etc!

FH and I didn't have a traditional first date. We had already been friends for 6 years. We realized we started having feelings for each other, but were reluctant to start dating. I called up FH when I needed help moving to an apartment in Massachusetts (at the time) and he dropped everything to help me move in. That nigh, to celebrate my move, we went out for dinner and a movie. That's about as close as we get to a first date.
I -NEED- a DOC. I'm a perfectionist, detail oriented and a stress monkey. My mother has absolutely no interest in helping with the wedding planning, and I don't have any sisters. My bridesmaids are scattered across the country and won't know any of the details until far too late. I need someone close by who will know what's happening when, and can keep things on schedule.

~ I had a great first date with the FH and it was the best!!!!!! He surprised me with going into the city but he had the day planned out and he want to central park and want to the little zoo ( both of us LOVE animals) and then after we want for a horse and carriage ride and the one he just so happen to get had an irish flag on it!!! ( im irish) and love all that stuff it was so sweet and after we want to a great dinner. He really took out the time to plan everything and he is a great planner!!!
A DOC would be great for the both of us b/c the last thing I want us to be stress out. And b/c our wedding is early in the morning and the church and cocktail hour being so close to each other scares me a lot b/c the last thing I need to stress out if something happens and we only have not even an hour to get to the RH and we dont want to miss the cocktail hour at all and we also want great pictures too! When you put so much into to a wedding and your paying for it yourselves it really hard to have a DOC and just to have the extra hands to help out would be GREAT!!!! And of course I want to have the wedding of my dreams and just having the DOC would be the icing on the CAKE!!!

Though my fiance and I have lived a few blocks from each other for our entire lives, our first official 'date' was an impromptu walk to Walbaums. Perhaps this is not the most romantic arena, but with our little free time and diminished cash thanks to medical school student loans, it served as the perfect setting for easy conversation. We were so engrossed by each other that we didn't care if our surroundings were a 5 star restaurant or the ice cream aisle of a supermarket!
I could use a day of coordinator because I am starting residency next week, which will be an 80 hour per week job. I am going to be so incredibly busy in the hospital for the next few years that I am worried about being able to tend to the details of my wedding. My fiance is in his last year of physical therapy school, so although he will do his very best to help, his schedule will not be too different from mine. My fiance and I would SO appreciate of having someone who could alleviate our fears and help to make our day all we dream of

Our first date wasn't really much of a date as a getting re-aquainted. We went to high school and middle school together but had a falling out. Later on, in my junior year in college, we started talking again. We decided to hang out again and give it another shot. However, the day he was available, I had my younger cousin over. We were shopping in Target where he was working, and he snuck up on me when I couldn't get to the back room to see him. Later on he came over and hung out with us. He was such a great guy that he let her chase him and 'steal' his hat... It was then that I realized how great he is with kids and how I needed to give him another chance. The rest is history!

My FH and I have known each other since i was 14 years old. We met up at a high school reunion and hit if off. For our first date i invited him over to my house for dinner. Since i am a horrible cook my mother prepared a tray of chicken cutlet parmasean that all i had to do was heat up. He could not stop raving about the food and all i can do was chuckle in my mind.
I have considered getting a DOC but unfortunately my budget will not allow it. I have so many personal touches to my wedding and I'm afraid that the RH will not get it right. It would just be a huge relief to have someone there that sees my vision.

My FH and myself met in the celebration of love. My best friend was marrying his best friend and although we had the same mutual friends, we never actually met. . . Until Candice & Tommy’s bridal shower. I noticed him right away as I walked through the door. He then approached my friend and said she is so pretty so of course she ran back and told me and I played hard to get hehe. He came up to me and introduced himself and I swear he had me at hello. 1 day passed and I asked my friend for his number in which I texted him and he asked me to come to his softball game. . until this day we laugh because I was sitting on the bench with my friend and I looked at her and said awww he is soooo cute and he actually heard me from the third base. The next day we went to Yankee Stadium on our official first date. I told him if the Yankees win, you get a kiss. . sure enough, A-R0D had a walk of and the Yankeeessss won ? after that we were inseparable.
Since we are paying for the wedding, ourselves a DOC did not fit into our budget although I desperately need one. I want to pay attention to small details and personal touches at my wedding and to have someone else take care of that for me would be a huge blessing and less stress for me, fh and my bridesmaids (poor things haha).

TEchnically our first dinner date was at cozymels an I stole the margarita glass!
First time we hung out together was at a bar w other lax teams hen he came back to campus, dorm caught on fire and he lost his friends so we ran into each other and he slept on my couch( yes my couch!)
