Feeling Overwhelmed!
Hey all,This is my first time starting a post on here. I got engaged about two weeks ago. I have a wedding date of 8/8/14 in mind. I originally figured to look at venues first to get the date set in stone, but now I'm freaking out about that. I want to get a sense of how much it might be per person for a Friday night in August? I'm not trying to break the bank on this wedding, but it seems like everything is so expensive!!! So right now I'm feeling super overwhelmed and half way feel like eloping lol. please help! Thanks
Daisy

I think that feeling is normal. What you need to do is sit down and decide how much you can afford and then try to find places that fall in that price range. Don't feel overwhelmed. Just take a deep breath and know you'll find the perfect place for you.

It totally depends on the place. I have a bunch of summer quotes for 2014 I'll FM them to you to give you an idea. Just remember every place you see the quote they give you (for example $100) you have to add 20% administration fees(this is not gratuity) and NYS tax.

Go with a set range in mind and see what they can do!! I found things from 90 pp-175 pp for a Friday night in July. Friday nights definitely help lower the price but Sundays are cheaper. I looked at Crest Hollow, Vineyards, Westbury Manor, Thatched Cottage, Lands End and East Wind is where I booked! I got a great price and a lot for my money :) FM if you need help

It's totally normal. Don't feel stressed about it, I did and I gave myself numerous panic attacks. I can send you the quotes I have, which are for Sunday nights, so youcan get a feel for the costs of places. You can also call venues and they'll tell you how much it is per person. It's very stressful, but just remember that you have enough time and not to rush and just enjoy the planning. And the girls on this site are so helpful and stress relieving!

THIS! I was overwhelmed at first too but it'll all work out. And if you crunch the numbers and it turns out you would rather elope, then totally do that! Do whatever you two want to do and not what you think will make other people happy.
