Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

I originally wanted WGP for the reception, but once i was standing in it, it just seemed like it would be crammed with 140-150 people so we took Briar Fox and WGP will be for CH. Minimum is 130 in Briar Fox.

Happy Tuesday everyone! I called the Inn to block more rooms (Mine were all booked!!) and they informed me that Jennifer who I originally booked with is gone. The new go to guy is a scotto and he was really nice. Just thought I'd let you girls know!!

he got me a list of everyone who booked a room and answered my questions- he was very helpful!

Yes, his name is Victor Scotto and he is very nice and helpful. I wound up not blocking any rooms there, since I don't know of enough people who would stay and don't want to get stuck paying for unused rooms, but he had helped me get a contract (I almost blocked) and was very understanding when I told him that in the end I wasn't going to block. Very nice guy!

he is a great guy. we've been dealing with him too. We blocked off 10 so we are responsible for 7. We already have 3. So I'm not worried about meeting our goal. We call each month though to see if we have to add rooms.

Congratulations!!!

I'm pretty new to this site and have been reading all the great reviews and helpful hints on this Thread. I knew your wedding was this past Saturday and thought of you when I saw what a beautiful day it was!

Thanks for sharing the pictures. I'll be having a winter wedding as well but not till 2010!!!!

Loved the cake! I wanted my reception in the Winter Pavilion too, but they told me I had too many people. How many guests did you have? We're thinking about 150. We guaranteed 135.

Best of luck!

I had exactly 100 people in the Winter Garden Pavillion room and that number seemed perfect. I personally wouldn't go over around 130 for that room. Here are two pics of the room and all our guests to give you an idea (I love the second one so much, I had to share even though it doesn't show the room capacity as well as the first)...

Laura, your pics are great! Did the fox hollow do your cake? It's amazing! Was it right? And how did it taste? If you wouldn't mind, I'd love to know how much extra it was for the fondant and the decorations. Feel free to FM me if you don't want to write here. So beautiful!!

Hi Girls
i was in the winter garde pavillion

my cake was AMAZING
the snowflakes were a little too yellow instead of gold but it tasted AWESOME!!!

there was NO extra charge for the fondant and decoarations

Now I want to call and change my cake. Does anyone know if you can do that?

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

Question for the brides who recently got married..
I'm hearing things like 'dropped the centerpieces off' a day or a week before the wedding. Is your florist responsible for arranging the centerpieces on the big day, or does Fox Hollow do that? I ask because I know they have a really quick turnaround time between events, and I was worried my florist couldn't do it... but if Fox Hollow does it, that's another story..

Also... does anyone know anything about who would be responsible for hanging of decorations in the rooms, like the Winter Garden. Do you think that would be the vendors responsibility or Fox Hollow?

Thanks!

It's the florists' responsibility to get everything set up as far as your CP's go.

I'm not sure what you mean with decorations in the Pavillion...

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

That quick turnaround makes me nervous. I went to see a DJ and asked him how long it would take him to set everything up.

He said 2 HOURS!!! I told him I did not think Fox Hollow would give him 2 hours...maybe a 1/2 hour at most!

Anyone else have this problem? We are in the Briar Fox and I know it's a lot for the DJs to set up there.

Jane - you need to drop off all non-perishable items the week before the wedding as far as I can tell. If you are doing flower centerpieces, your florist would bring them the day of and set them up. I am doing candles and I can drop these off the week before, and the fox hollow will set up. I hope that clears some things up for you.

And as for the decorations - are they flowers? Or items that come from a vendor? If it's not a ton of things, I would imagine the fox hollow would do it. If not - I would think you'd be responsible for getting someone to help .. not sure though .. all depends on what you're talking about and how difficult / time consuming it would be. Maybe a relative could help?

Hmm. I think all depends on what room and if there is a party before yours, and when it ends. They all have different cycles. I am fortunate in that my party is the first of the day, so I have access to the room before hand. My band needs like an hour to set up, and I think they can get it because no one will be in there before me. Do you know if your room is booked before you? And what time that party ends, if it is? Has your DJ ever worked at the fox hollow before?

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

my DJ needs an hour to set up but they only get 30 minutes. But I know they have done weddings there before so I think it'll be fine.

As for the centerpieces, here is a pic of what Im doing. Eric the operations manager told me that they always set these sorts of things up for the brides. And he said it was never a problem.

Im just bringing everything there ahead of time and putting everything in its own box by table. And then that day my florist is dropping off bunches of tulips for me and ill hand them over for the tables.

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

We haven't booked anyone yet, just doing our research right now. The DJ was Frank from FM Entertainment. Not sure if there will be another wedding in there that day. I'm sure they will at least use it for their cocktail hour.

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

That does clear a lot up, thank you! I think I'll prolly go with pedestals, assuming they can work within my budget, because they are so familiar with the quick turnaround times at Fox Hollow. We have a meeting tomorrow night :)

In other news, I just picked our STD's ( That is So odd to type, btw ) and if I like the sample, I'll be ordering them!

The decorations are paper lanterns and such, and pedestals handles that as well. The only perishable things are the flowers. *whew*

Gina, I was told that your dj can set up before my CH and they put his stuff behind a screen....
he just can't set up DURING my CH.... does that make sense?

I am in the Briar Fox as well... granted I'm on a Friday night...

Unless the Garden Terrace Room is booked that day, your room most likely won't be used for a cocktail hour.

Plus, if it is used for a cocktail hour, your dj can set up behind the curtain thing in the place where he'll performing.
no worries, they've all done this kind of thing before!
